I surrendered, I have to tell him.

"What "

"The imperial doctor (royal physician) diagnosed you of being poisoned by a very rare poison called the hundred blood suckers, the name is quite weird but it suit it best. It sucks all your energy from your body till you are rendered useless and since there is no antidote for the poison, it end up killing you, but..."

"Am going to die...."

"No, no I won't let that happen"

"It's OK, am not scared of death, we all have to die someday. Maybe my time has come, my only regret and pain is that am not going to follow you till the end, this is my fate, you have to take care of yourself and please stop rejecting your mate,it is the moon goddess w...."

I stared at this guy dumbfounded as he went on and on spitting out nonsense from his mouth, is he that eager to die or he is just too eager to give his last speech.

"You are not going to die, I will make sure of that, if is the last thing I do."

"But you just said there is no antidote, I don't have much hope less"

"...."

Now am very sure, this poison not only poisoned his body but also his IQ, reducing it drastically. Am speechless.

"I said that, but you misunderstood my meaning, has your IQ really reduced, that will be quite troublesome...."

"Isn't that what you said"

He retorted.

"Yes, for other people, but the imperial doctor (royal physician) said he knows of an ancient way of treating this, but the things needed to concort the antidote are almost extinct"

I explained patiently to him.

"What are the ingredients, and why is it that they have gone extinct. That also means the ingredients for the poison is almost extinct, how did they get it"

"The eye of the earth and the Heliumatine flower, these are the two major herbs  needed for the antidote, as for the way the poison was made, the vampires know clearly"

They really went all out in order to defeat us.

"What's this medicinal herb, i have never heard of it before"

"Yes, I haven't even seen it before, but the royal physician said he saw the Heliumatine flower with the priestess before this war, as for the other one, we just have to search for it ourselves"

I signed, the journey ahead will be a difficult one.

"The priestess have the Heliumatine flower.."

"Yeah, it is not an extinct herb, but it can only be found on the human realm"

"How come she has it, did she go to the human realm?"

I glared at him

"Is that something you should be worrying about now, just see how weak you are now.."

"Alright, alright, I know am weak, you don't have to point it out so begrudgingly"

"Is good you know, I want to go look for the priestess for the....."

"No you can't"

He interrupted me anxiously, which got me surprised

"I don't plan to go now, we will wait for her till tomorrow, if she isn't back by then,I wouldn't hold back, I will have to look for her"

"Let's wait till a week..."

"NO, I can't wait for a week, I have to get the flower for you and also my sister ,I don't know how she is doing, am getting anxious already"

"Am going with you"

"NO way"

I rejected him right away, if he goes with me with how weak his body is, he will just be  bringing me down not helping me.

"I have to go with you, what if something happens.."

"No, there is room for arguing, you are not going with me, if you go with me, with how weak your body is , you will just bring me down"

I said to him, I saw the glint of pain in his eyes, but that is the only thing I could say to him to get him to back off.

"Alright"

He said and laid down facing the other side, I felt guilty, I shouldn't have said such gruel words to him.

I walked to the couch and lay down, wanting to sleep but couldn't with the way things are going, with a thought I walked out of the room, shifted to my wolf and ran into the forest, I spent the entire night there.

The next day I went to Mato's room to tell him I want to set off to the witch kingdom but I didn't find him in his room, I regretted not leaving him with many guards yesterday when I know he is too weak, where has he gone, what is he up to, I tried mind linking him, but couldn't get him, it must be because he is presently very weak and it affected his state of mind and he couldn't respond.

"Mato where are you?"

I muttered to myself, I was still hesitating whether to leave without telling him or look for him now. I chose the latter because he might do something stupid to himself in anger, so I have to find him immediately, else I might regret it later.

I ran to the woods in search of him, that is the only place I Could think of that he might be, I searched round the forest but couldn't find him, I tried sniffing the air to find his scent and fortunately I found his scent but I it is very light which shows that he has been here not long ago, I followed his scent, and it led me to a riverside, I searched around but couldn't see him, his scent stopped here at the front of this river, I looked around again but still no signs of him.  Wait..... He couldn't be that he is inside that river, right, he obviously can't swim in his condition, he wouldn't have jumped in when he knows he can't swim, but that is the only thing I could come up with, I looked down at the river, no signs that someone is inside.

"Mato, Mato.."

I shouted his name, but no he didn't answer, I began panicking, his body is currently weak now, if he encountered an enemy now, i didn't even want to think of the outcome.
