What Was Her Story?

Watching her bleeding like that Ryle didn't feel good but there was no way he could do anything.

The girl was still looking at him from behind her hair. Ryle looked back at Murray.

"Did you give her sedatives?" He asked for a thorough mind link and Dr Murray nodded.

"But the dose is quite light. It will take time to take effect," Murray replied through the mind links.

Ryle grunted in response and turned around to look at the girl.

He saw her looking at everyone else as if they were going to hurt her. Her defence was still on.

Yet she was still in her human form which was a bit odd.

"Everyone else out," sensing her fear, Ryle ordered.

"But Alpha-," Sophie tried to speak but Ryle cut her off, "Leave,"

"Frightened girl and a drunk Alpha. I don't think you should stay alone with her," Sophie said through a mind link that only Ryle could hear.

He was alpha and she couldn't say that out loud. But since their relationship was good she could use a bit of liberty to voice her opinion that only she and he could know.

Hearing her voice ringing inside his head, Ryle's eyes hardened.

"I know what I'm doing," Ryle snapped at her. His head was already hurting and her annoying voice making sarcastic remarks wasn't making it any easier.

"Okay," Sophie said with a sigh and left the room

When the girl saw all of them moving her eyes widened but then she saw all of them leaving her alone.

Now in the big hospital room, only two people were left. Ryle and the little girl.

Ryle gave her a good look and then stood up from the ground.

"I'm not going to hurt you so don't worry," he said.

He cleared up the messy hospital bed and sat down on it.

The girl looked around the age of twelve to fourteen which wasn't much young for a werewolf cub. That means that she was able to understand what was going on around her.

It was just that she was still frightened after the attack Ryle had saved her from.

What she needed now was a sense of security and words can not give her that. So instead of saying Ryle decided to show.

He went to bed, lay down and closed his eyes. While the girl's eyes kept following all his movements.

She was alone and no one was keeping watch on her anymore but the girl was so afraid to move that she didn't even consider running away.

She understood that there was no way out when so many people were waiting for her just outside the door.

She will just get more injured so it was best to stay where she was.

As seconds turned into minutes the girl who was suddenly left alone started to get a little loose as the effect of adrenaline faded and the medicine finally started to work.

Just in half an hour, she was laying on the cold floor, in deep slumber.

Hearing her soft breathing Ryle finally opened his eyes.

She has curled up on the floor just like an abandoned kitten.

Ryle sat up on the bed and gave her a long stare.

After confirming that she was asleep and won't wake up he walked over to her and lifted her fragile body in his arms before putting her to bed.

Ryle softly removed hair from her forehead and a small baby face came into view.

Pale complexions and a bony face were evident that the girl was starving for days before she was saved by him.

Such a little cub and she has to go through so much.

Why?

What was her story?

Ryle thought to himself. He then sighed and covered her well with sheets and walked out.

As expected the medical staff was waiting outside for him silently.

Sophie was also there, standing far away with her back resting on the wall and impatience in her eyes.

"She is asleep," Ryle said and two nurses hurried inside the hospital room at Doctor Murray's signal.

While everyone else also started their duty when their Alpha glared at them.

"Come with me," Dr Murray said and Rule walked towards his office while Sophie followed them.

"The girl seems to be very fierce," Sophie commented while taking a seat in front of the doctors.

"She is," Murray nodded and sighed, touching the scratches on his face which were now hidden under bended.

''So what now?'' Sophi asked, looking back and forth between Ryle and doctor Murry.

Ryle was sitting in his chair with his head resting backwards and eyes closed. It was evident that he didn't want to speak at all.

''Her physical wounds have almost healed during this time she was unconscious. But I think her mental condition is a bit disturbed, maybe because of the rough conditions she has to go through before she was rescued by Alpha,'' Murray explained.

During the last month or so, the little girl's bones and all other injuries had been recovered under the finest care of the medical unit of Bloodmoon Shadow pack.

''So what you suggest?'' Sophie asked.

''Let's observe her from now until she finally gets used to the atmosphere here and then we can map down her treatment plan according to her condition,'' the doctor replied.

''Do what you needed then,'' Ryle finally opened his eyes and stood up, ready to leave.

Sophie also followed behind.

''Find everything about her background and why she was in such a horrible condition. I need a full report in one week,'' Ryle also ordered Sophie before walking out of the medical unit and going straight to his room.

While Sophie stood at the entrance of the medical care with a dumbfounded expression on her face.

'How she was supposed to do that in just one week?'

Especially when she didn't even know the girl's first name and from the way, the little girl behaved it was obvious that she won't be able to get any information from her anytime soon.

Sophie let out a tired sigh and looked at the sky, wishing that Isabelle was there.
