4 Mystirous Girl

The next morning at the breakfast table.

"Sophie has arranged a meeting with warriors. Look into them and see if you could go along with them," Isabella said to her son who was sitting across from her at the breakfast table.

"I think it's going too fast mom," Ryle said with a sigh.

"You have one month. If you think going any slower will be alright, then it's your decision," Isabelle said, cutting her steak and putting it in her mouth elegantly.

Ryle looked up and saw his mother's pale face that kept reminding him every second that he was going to lose her soon. Even though he was acting as if it was nothing major, he hadn't gotten even a single hour of sleep last night as he was thinking about it all the time. Not just this, he even went to her bedroom a few times to check if she was alright. The fear of losing her was haunting him.

"Fine," Ryle said as he put down his fork and stood up. Looking at his mother and then Sophia, he added, "I'll go and check some details about the warriors then. Tell me when it's arranged."

Isabella stared at her young son and sighed. It was going to be hard for him. She wished she could still carry all these burdens for him for a few more years. However in the end, whether it was today or tomorrow, everything was going to be his one day.

Ryle returned to his room which was located on the third floor, exclusively for the Alpha's family and went straight to take a shower to keep his head cool. The cold water fell on his body and erased all the worries for a few minutes. If he knew this was going to happen, he wouldn't have come here and perhaps then he could have avoided losing his mother.

However, if only it was possible.

The young man made a futile attempt to think of some impossible and absurd scenario in his head. As the drops of cool water were falling on his head, suddenly his eyes flung open.

He hurriedly closed the showerhead and ran out of the washroom, with a towel draped around his waist. He left the packhouse in a hurry and strode towards the medical care unit. A guard saluted him on his way.

It was eight in the morning and the entire area was bustling. Cleaners were cleaning the area just like how other people were involved with their assigned duties. Most of the members who live in the packhouse work as employees in the Engelson inco. Still, some of them prefer to live in the middle of the city among humans and Isabelle as their Luna allowed that.

He impatiently ascended a few steps and entered the medical care unit. Inside this two-story building, an extremely high-tech hospital for werewolves was located. It was equipped with all the modern technology par to the biggest hospital of any city. Even in the middle of the night, staff was on duty and as soon as he walked in, the nurse on duty strode toward him with a soft blush on her face.

"Where is the girl I brought yesterday?" Ryle asked in urgency.

"This way, "The beautiful she-wolf gave a cute smile and led him towards the second floor of the hospital where the girl was currently resting.

On the way, while Ryle was in quite a rush, the girl kept her pace deliberately slow. Throughout the way, she couldn't help but look at the young and charming prince from the corner of her eyes.

"This way, "She showed him the way and on reaching the door she opened it elegantly, and led him inside the observation room.

"I'll go fetch Dr Murray," The nurse said softly and left but Ryle being Ryle didn't even bother to spare more than a single glance to her.

On a small bed in the middle of the white hospital room, a little girl was lying peacefully.

Her long black hair was spread on the pillow and her small face was covered with an oxygen mask.

Her left hand was plastered till the elbow and there were quite a lot of bruises on her face. All he could say was that she looked so small and pitiful laying there. He stared at her pitiful figure and his heart started to feel pain in his heart. As he walked closer to her, his nose instantly picked up her cool spring scent. Even the intense smell of medication around there cannot trim it.

It made his heart itch for some reason.

Perhaps, it was feeling sorry looking at her.

Yes, it has to be this.

Several questions were running through his mind.

Who is she? What was she doing in the forest alone?

And most importantly, why would three adult wolves be chasing behind a small girl?

Ryle rubbed his forehead in worry.

"Good evening, Ryle," Ryle was in deep thought when Dr Murray entered.

"Hello, doc," Ryle shook hands with the old pal of his father who was also like an elder to him.

"Is she okay?" Ryle asked, looking at the girl.

"I'm afraid that's not the case, " Doctor said as he shook his head heavily.

Ryle's face fell as he heard that. He didn't like the answer that the doctor gave him.

"Where did you meet her?" The doctor asked as he walked towards the little girl's bed.

"She got in an accident with my car while I was returning," Ryle said as he massaged his forehead.

"Was Garr driving you back?" Doctor Murray asked.

"Yeah…." Ryle spread his hand in an obvious manner.

"You should give that man retirement, "Doctor Murray said as a matter of fact.

"I know," Ryle nodded, "But it wasn't his fault some wolves were chasing behind the girl with the intention of hurting her.

"How long would it take for her to be fine?" Ryle again focused on the topic of discussion to the girl.

"She is in a coma," Dr Murray replied as if it was not obvious to the young man.

"What?!" Ryle reacted. He had no idea that the accident was that bad.

"Don't worry it wasn't your car that did this to her," Murray assured the young man on seeing the worry on the latter's face.

"You see, these are the old wounds, they are all over her body. As if someone had tortured her for a long time. Apart from this, she has two broken ribs and a leg fracture here," Dr Murray lifted the sheets from her body and showed her leg which was covered in white plaster.

On her other leg, there were some scars that she had most probably received from burning. He didn't notice initially but the girl was in pretty bad condition.

Ryle ran his fingers through his jet black hair, irritated. He didn't know why but for some reason he felt like killing someone who inflicted such torture on a little girl.

His breathing quickened and his forehead started to sweat from tension.

He was still thinking that he killed those Wolves too hastily but after looking at this, he felt it was the right decision.

"Bastards," Ryle cursed.

"When will she recover?" He asked after a while.

"I seriously don't know at this point," Dr Murray said and pulled out a report from the desk beside the girl's bed.

"She had suffered from head injuries and this has created a block at this point and that is the reason why she is in a coma. I have started treatment but I can't say the exact time of her recovery, "Dr Murray showed the report to the young man and explained further.

Ryle took a deep breath to quell the anger bubbling in his heart.

Someone has injured a little girl so badly in his territory. And it was nothing less than an insult to him.

He had to find out who did this to her and why.

"Anything else?" Ryle asked at last.

"That's it for now, "The doctor said.
