*Elena's POV*

"No! You cannot put Halle and the pups in danger! If you continue trying to get that bitch, you will ruin our shot at a real family! All because what? Revenge? A Hybrid pup? For something that happened to me years ago? It didn't happen to you, Jason!" I look at him angrily. My wolf growls inwardly while simultaneously being hurt that our mate would throw everything away over power. Jason snarls as he turns towards me. He storms across the room and grabs my arms painfully while pushing me against the wall.

"I am the Alpha. I am your mate. What I say goes, and thats final!" he yells into my ear angrily. For the first time he uses his Alpha power against me. I feel myself shrinking away from him, bowing my head in defeat.

"If you do this, Jason. I don't think I can ever forgive you." I cry sadly.

"That's not my problem." he says coldly, and leaves the room. As soon as the door slams behind him, I collapse on the floor. Sobs flow freely as I feel my wolfs connection rip from Jason. I scream in pain realizing my wolf had chosen between my two mates. I begin to calm down, and wipe my face. I pick myself up off the floor and leave for Halle's room. She's a month along now, and has been spending a lot of time reading. I'd noticed that once we had introduced Halle to Jason's wizard friend, he had been spending more time with her and was bringing plenty of books.

I come to her bedchambers and I knock and enter once I hear Halle's sweet voice telling me to come in. She is sitting on her canopy bed reading a book full of family trees. I see Wes sitting in an arm chair close to her and when I make eye contact with Halle there are tears in her eyes.

"What's wrong, love?" I say and immediately become defensive.

"Oh, Elena! Wes has shown me this wonderful book. He thinks he knows who my mother and father are!" she delightedly says. I look at Wes in confusion and he looks away nervously.

"That's amazing, but could I speak to you alone for a moment?" I ask her quietly.

"Oh, of course! Wes do you mind stepping outside for a moment?" he nods and smiles before leaving. "What's going on?" she has a concerned look on her face and I look at her sadly realizing I can't protect her.

"Jason has decided to go after Haley." I watch as the smile falls from her face.

"Wait, what? But he knows the pups will die!? He knows I'll die! I don't understand!" she begins panicking and I quickly sit on the bed and wrap my arms around her.

"I will do everything I can to stop him." I reassure her. She wipes her face and then looks at me determined.

"You won't be able to stop him. So you need to promise me something."

*Wes' POV*

I wait patiently outside Halle's room before they call me back inside to tell them about her parents. I look at Halle for confirmation that Elena can stay in the room. Once I sit down I turn to a page with the name "Smith" in elegant script at the top. I see Elena look at me in confusion.

"Here it says Samuel and Amora Smith had a set of twin girls. But, there is only proof that one child was raised by them, and her name was Haley. Now what I'm about to tell you, I need your word you will not tell the Alpha." I say quietly. I look down, praying that I didn't just ruin years of work.

"He won't know a thing." I look in surprise at Elena. "He wants to throw away Halle's life, and my wolf chose between him and Halle. It chose Halle." she says sternly.

"Samuel wasn't actually the twins father." I say carefully. "I am. Amora was wed to Samuel for the strength of their pack, but she and I met each other. As soon as my eyes met hers I knew she was mine. We were happy for a time, and she became pregnant, we didn't know it was with twins. Before she had the children though... He found us. He slit my throat and I barely escaped alive. He took Amora. Once I found their pack though, she had given birth and there was only one child. I didn't know until I saw this book that there was another child. I have been searching everywhere for her. And when I saw you, Halle. I knew. You look just like your mother." I look at her sadly and watch tears roll down her cheeks.

"Wait. He wants Haley because he wants Hybrid children, but you can give him exactly that! He doesn't have to do this, everything can be okay!" Elena say excitedly. I look at her in shock.

"Elena. No. You can't tell him, we promised Wes... my father we wouldn't tell." Halle says gently.

"But..." Elena trails off before Halle interrupts.

"It's probably already too late for me anyway. Before you came to my room, Jason was here." Elena looks upset. "He was leaving with Adam to go find the Red Fang Pack. Some of his more vicious... 'warriors' had picked up on the scent of the Luna, my sister, from some clothes of hers that Adam had brought. You have to help her before it's too late." I look at her sadly wishing I had known both of my daughters. Elena and I both take one of her hands.

Before we can say goodbye, she suddenly grips our hands tightly and grimaced in pain. I look at her in concern as she squeezes again and cries out loudly.

"Halle? What's wrong?" Elena questions frantically. She throws the blanket from Halle's body and we see bright red blood spreading across the sheets.

"No, no, no! Guards! Call for the pack doctor! NOW!" Elena screams. I wipe the cold sweat from Halle's forehead as she shivers and holds tightly onto my hand.

"I know we just met. But daddy? Can you please save Haley? I know it's too late for me and my babies but please don't let this be in vain." she cries softly and then screams in pain as her body begins trying to force her three small bundles from her womb.

*Haley's POV*

As I become conscious, I place my hand on my head. I had wandered close to the edge of the barrier. I was curious and stupid and out of no where something had hit my head. I slowly sit up and realize I'm in a dark decrepit building. I look down and see I'm sitting on a filthy mattress. My ankles have shackles around them that are chained to the floor. Fear begins creeping into my mind and I hear footsteps coming closer.

I look into black eyes and a handsomely scary face.

"Who are you?" I try to sound calm but my voice shakes. I hear him chuckle darkly.

"I'm Jason Klein, and you must be Haley." his husky voice fills the room and turns my blood cold. He comes closer to me and I try moving backward as far from him as I can. But my restraints quickly stop me. He begins caressing my face and I try pushing his hands away. He grabs both of my hands and reaches behind me and shackles them to the wall. I begin struggling as he rips my clothes from my body.

"NO! No get off me!" I shriek. He laughs cruelly and unbuttons his pants. Once he's removed them he forceably moves my legs apart. I begin screaming for him to stop and he slaps me hard on the cheek. I taste blood and as I open my mouth to scream again, I see my mother beside me.

"Use your powers, Haley." She says. Before he can enter me, I send a powerful force that hits him directly in the chest. He flies backward and slams into a column. I feel my eyes burning a bright red as I begin heating the chains until I can easily rip them off. Jason slowly gets up and looks in horror at me.

"What are you?" he asks. Before I can annihilate him, his entire force of blood thirsty wolves comes to his aid. I quickly look at him angrily and blow the entire wall off the side of the building. I jump into the air before anyone can grab me, and feel the wind as it picks me up and swirls my hair around. I begin my flight back home.
