13 First Life-and-Death Fight (3)

[Master, congratulations on surviving your first life-and-death battle.]

Liam, who was quite panicked earlier, was now calmly congratulating his master. Indeed, surviving this battle, for his master, is worth the celebration as this was his first face-off with a foe who is overwhelmingly powerful and filled with killer intent.

"Kukuku...," a low chuckle escaped from Charlie's throat as he lied on his back on the ground. The low chuckle eventually became louder and turned to a hearty laugh, "That was exciting! I really thought I would die. That was the first time I've been in a battle. I feel awesome!"

[Master, that creature wasn't all that intelligent and was just following its instinct of attacking a prey in sight. I hope that Master would run away the next time you encounter such situations in the future.]

"Yeah, yeah," Charlie carelessly replied while cooling down his excited heartbeat, "Anyway, thanks Liam for helping me out in the fight earlier. If it wasn't for you shouting out instructions on how to dodge in my head, my body would have been frozen stiff."

[I'm glad to be of help, Master.]

When Charlie felt that his heart isn't beating that fast anymore, he slowly sat up to look at the bloodied body right beside him. Upon closer look, the body belonged to a male youth with a physique close to him. He brushed away the hair, sticky with blood, covering the person's face.

"Around 16-17 years old, huh?" Charlie estimated.

[Master, if you don't treat that person quickly, he'll die of blood loss.]

"Oh right!" as if just remembering that fact, Charlie slapped his forehead. "I'll try to see if I can pull out another potion."

After saying that, Charlie closed his eyes to feel his remaining mana. He frowned slightly when he felt that he only have a sliver of mana left, "I don't have enough to pull out a bottle."

[If a bottle is not possible, how about a mix of pill and ointment?]

Space transference follows the world law of "value weight". This means that the more "valuable" an item is, the more mana required to transfer it in and out of the space. For alchemists with the ability to take items out from a space, the most valuable item for them would start with elixirs, followed by potions, draughts, brews, pills, and ointments, in decreasing order.

Charlie nodded and concentrated on a few pills that can help cure the youth beside him.

'Let's take out a healing pill first, and if I still have mana left, a blood replenishing pill as well.'

When a small glass vial filled with three blue marbled pills appeared in his hand, Charlie smiled. He concentrated once again and another vial, this time filled with three blood-red pills, appeared. This time, he felt that his reservoir has almost gone empty, as if there are only a few drops left in a large lake, making him feel so uncomfortable.

Charlie first confirmed that he had the right vials before he popped one of the three healing pills into the youth's mouth. Even if the youth doesn't swallow the pill, it should slowly melt and integrate into his body to heal his wounds without problems.

He then stood up and slung the arm of the unconscious person over his shoulder. With much difficulty, he pulled him up and started dragging him away from the place.

Charlie was worried that the beast might return. They need to leave there and look for a safe place. The only place that he can think of though is the elevated platform that he had woken up at earlier. After all, even when he was unconscious for three days, nothing bad happened to him.

As he was carrying the weight of the youth by his side on his own, it took a while before he was able to arrive at the platform. He successfully placed the person down and wiped his sweat.

"Goodness, why are you so heavy?" Charlie complained to the unconscious youth, "Although I am used to heavy labor, carrying you is too much, you know!"

He rubbed his sore shoulders and stretched out his body. Today's events have really depleted him a lot so he is actually quite tired. But he can't rest yet as he needs to ensure that the youth won't die on him.
