18 Volume 2 Chapter 8 - Spy on 'em
Lydia was sitting in her room, flipping through her French book and trying to study things that she had no idea what the chapters were even about. That's when her phone started ringing, she went to her table stand and looked at it to see who it was.
"Lara?"
She attended the call.
"Hello! What's up?" Lydia asked.
"Hey!!! Wanna go to Toronto Public Library?" Lara asked.
"Which one?"
"Humber Bay Branch?"
"Isn't that Library a bit too small?"
"Well a little birdy told me that Kian and Max are there in that library now."
"Oooh, Now that you mentioned about it, I am not coming."
"Oh come on Lydia! Both of them are our crushes and now is the only time we can actually see them!"
"Lara! He will think that we are creeps!!"
"That is why I have prepared disguises!"
"That doesn't change the fact that we are creeps..."
"You still like him right? And now is the only time you can see the good side of him."
"Ugh! Fine! Whatever!"
Lydia closed all her books and kept them in her shelf. She changed her clothes and hanged her bag around her shoulders and she went to her door, took her keys to lock them, and then that sentence said by Lara few minutes ago, played in her mind.
"You still like him right?"
"Do I really like him? After all the things that he did to me....do I still like him...?"
Lydia locked her door and went out of her house, then she saw Lara and her step dad waiting for Lydia in the car. Both of them sat at the back of the car and went off.
--------------------IN THE LIBRARY-----------------------
"What kind of Disguise is this???????????"
"Come on! Look there!" Lara pointed. "It's Max and Kian! Hide!" Lara said as she grabbed Lydia's hand and they went under a table.
"Umm...Kids.... Please don't play around, this is a library." One of the librarians said.
"Wait how did you notice me?" Lara asked.
"Lara, this is a small library, anyone can notice us." Lydia replied.
The librarian heard this and she was completely displeased. "Did you come here to read or to make fun of us?"
"Sorry." Lara and Lydia said in unison.
-----------------FEW MINUTES LATER------------------
"How do we know what they are talking about?" Lydia asked.
"We use this!" Lara took a small ear piece from her bag.
"What the...."
This caught the librarian's attention and she went to their direction.
"Now... if you want to see them, then use this!" Lara gave Lydia a binocular.
"Lara, I don't think we need this binocular... this library isn't that big."
Hearing this the librarian got mad again "ARE YOU PLANNING TO LEAVE???"
"Sorry." Lara and Lydia said in an unison.
------------------FEW MINUTES LATER------------------
Lara and Lydia slowly went to the place where Kian and Max was in. They both hid behind the bookshelf and they were eavesdropping them.
"Hey this book looks good!" Max said to Kian. Max is a very tall boy with brown eyes and brown coloured hair. Just like Kian, he is also very famous in the school for his charm and sportsmanship. He has been in many relationships but all of them failed within a month or so.
"That book is a bit too boring. I read half of it before and felt like to sleep." Kian replied.
"Oh I see." Max said as he kept the book back in the shelf. "Thank goodness I came with you, or else I would have taken some boring book."
"Yeah, hey aren't you supposed to be in the cricket practice."
"Well I thought to read books."
"That's so much unlike you...."
"Umm what are you two doing here?" It was Almer behind both the girls.
"Did you hear that?" Max asked.
Both Lydia and Lara pulled Almer back and they hid somewhere, that Kian and Max wouldn't find them.
"That sounded like Almer." Kian said to Max.
"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?? WERE BOTH OF YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?" Almer asked the girls who were peeking out to see if they were coming.
"What are you doing here?" Lara asked.
"I was checking for some novels...."
"In this small Library?"
"Ummmmm.... that's not the point! Why are you two wearing wigs?? And what's with the baggy clothes???"
"You knew that it was us????"
"Well....I know both of you idiots very well...anyway why are you guys spying on them?"
"By the way.... the thing in the MPH...." Hearing these sentences from Max, Lydia started paying attention to them.
"Don't tell me you are going against me..." Kian said.
"It's not that, I mean there is no way one person can bring the whole class percentage down.... It's not only her who did it. There are so many of us who scored low marks..."
Kian stood there not replying to Max's comment.
"Do you have a grudge against her?"
"Actually yeah..."
"What is it?"
"It's...."

A car outside on the streets flew onto the roof of the library which made the roof break and shattered. it made a huge noise that it took everyone into a shock.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT????"
"Everyone please get of here!" the librarian said to the crowd.
"There are some people stuck there!" Almer pointed to the corner of the library.
"Well well well."
Everyone turned their face to the direction of the sound.
"Wait a second, is that?" Lara looked at the sky.
"Damien...." Lydia gulped.
"I actually did not notice that there were these many people here.... damn... that means there should be at least one dead here."
"EVERYONE GET OUT OF HERE NOW!!!"
Lydia, Almer and Lara were running out and that's when Lydia heard a child crying. She turned her head and was going to the direction of the crying.
"Lydia what are you doing?" Lara asked.
"We are going to get killed if we stay here for to long." Almer said as he grabbed her hand.
"But... there is a child...."
"You care about your life, or the child's?"
He pulled her out of the library and they saw the police arrive. It was very chaotic already but the sound of the sirens made it even worse.
"Everyone! Don't worry! We will stop that monster!" One of the police men said.
"Excuse me officer! My daughter is in there! Please save her..." A man said to the officer as he was weeping over his daughter.
"I am sorry sir... for today we cannot save her.... I think.. she is already gone."
"OFFICER PLEASE DON'T SAY THAT! PLEASE SAVE MY DAUGHTER!!" The man caught the officer's collar and and the other police men tried to separate them.
Almer and Lara were watching this scene and by looking at their faces you could see how disappointed they were.
"Hey... where is Lydia?"
