9 Volume 1 Chapter 9 - A Truth For The Ones Who Are Hurt

"Dad..."

Lydia was in a state of confusion, she did not want believe what she just heard, she doesn't want to know that this was all true.

"This has to be a mistake right? There is no way this all is true...right mom?" Lydia asked her crying mom as she was breathing more heavily than before.

"Lydia...I..."

As soon as her mom let some words out of her mouth, Lydia took her coat from the stand which was near the house entrance and she went down the stairs and ran away from the house, Emma wanted to stop her but she couldn't as she was shivering a lot. Lydia continued to run in the pathway that takes her to the hospital.

Within a minute, a droplet of water fall on Lydia's cheek from the sky and then a moment later it started raining. Rain? During the beginning of Autumn? Everyone on the streets started running back to their homes as the rain was unexpected.

But Lydia continued running and running on the rainy night, her legs were splashing the water off, which made her shoes wet. She reached the Mt Sinai Hospital, she went inside with her soaked feet, and in each and every step she took her breathing became more and more heavier.

"It can't be true, there is now way he can.."

"NO I DON'T WANT TO BELIVE IT!"

She goes to the reception area and asks his room number, after getting the number, she ran up the stairs and everyone was looking at her in a weird way, seeing her all soaked up. She sees all the doctors standing near the ICU in despair, she goes to them and asks "Is Lucas Carlson okay?"

The Doctors sees the water dripping from Lydia's Hair and they looked at her with sympathy, bowing their head down and said "I am sorry, sadly he is de-"

"DON'T SAY THAT! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT WORD!" Lydia shouts as she covers her ears. "Isn't there a way for you to save him? YOU ARE DOCTORS RIGHT?! AREN'T YOU SUPOSSED TO SAVE PEOPLE?" Lydia shouts at the doctor. Everyone In the hospital noticed this and it already made a crowd.

The Doctors were surprised, then one of the Nurses ran to the Doctor and told him that Lydia was Lucas' daughter. The nurse went to Lydia and kept a her hand on Lydia's shoulder. Lydia looked up and saw that it was Annie Williams, Lara's mom, She is a senior nurse in the hospital.

"Lydia dear, why are you all soaked up? Cover yourself with this before you catch a cold." Annie said as she covered Lydia with a creamed colour Blanket. "You will worry your mom."

Lydia looked down on the blanket and looked back at Annie and asked her "Is he really gone?" Annie stood there silently looking at Lydia's sorrowful eyes. 'PLEASE TELL ME! IS HE REALLY GONE??!!"

"Y-yes"

The word 'yes' played in Lydia's head again and again, that's when a drop of tear of fell out of her eyes and then a river of tears came out. Lydia saw that herself was crying so she wiped her cheeks off.

"Lydia..."

"I have to leave.." Lydia said as she gave the blanket back and went out of the hospital, she was walking down the pathway slowly in the rain, then she started walking more and more faster and started running in the dark rainy night, she ran as fast as she could, crying in this cold weather. She somehow reached a greeny field area, she walked slowly towards the middle of the the field and stood there, She slowly fell on her knees and started crying very loudly.

If you cry that doesn't mean you are sensitive, it means that you were strong for a really long time. Tears is one of the things which lets your sadness go.

The words which her father told her long time ago.

Lara took her phone and dialed Lydia's number.

"The person you are trying to reach is not responding please try again later."

Lara called Carlson's Lan Phone.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Lara is that you?"

"Yes Auntie, it's me."

"Did Lydia come there? Usually she comes to yours or Almer's house."

"No, she did not..."

Lara heard few sniffling sound from the phone.

"I and and Almer will find her."

"Thank you..."

Lara wore her coat and kept her phone in the pockets of the coat, then she took her umbrella and she went near the entrance, Before she could leave she gave her dad and her baby brother who is only few months old a wave of goodbye. She went straight to Almer's house on a Taxi, He came out of his house and both of them went inside the taxi for a search for Lydia.

By that time, Lydia was in a small gap between two buildings, she was sitting on the ground, hugging her knees tightly and crying, letting the rain fall on her. But then the rain stopped and she looked up and saw that it was Almer and Lara, and Almer's Umbrella stopped the rain from falling on her.

"You are soaked up."

"Oh, it's you two..."

"Come on, you need to go home now" Lara says while she picked Lydia up with one arm.

Lydia was on her legs, but she was shivering a lot, then she fell on Lara's arms and started crying a lot, Lara dropped her umbrella and Almer kept his umbrella on top of them.

"Why him...?"

They went and dropped Lydia at her house, they greeted Emma and left...
