3 Opening up

Sly's face goes red of embarrassment as he hears the laughter. Sly then walks back over to the bench to think on what he should do next but gets interrupted by Carmelita "you ran here?" Looking confused for a minute. Sly losing his train of thought suddenly says sounding a bit annoyed "yes, I ran here." Soon as Carmelita hears this she just smiles and says "You finally lost your stutter." Looking a bit accomplished with herself. Sly is just confused as to what she just said and why she said it, but then remembers he has been stuttering his speech the whole time they met.

While Sly and Carmelita were talking Carmelitas father said into the radio "Enough joking around, what should I do with the kid?" After a few minutes he heard and answer to his question "Just take the kids to the orphanage since both his parents are killed and there is nothing on his relatives." Carmelitas father then says "Okay, but I'm going to stop by the crime scene to ask the boy a few questions and grab him a fresh pair of clothes because I am not taking him to the orphanage with only a pair of PJ's." The last thing the radio said was "Fine by me." And then goes silent. Carmelitas father rubs his forehead and says under his breath "I don't get paid enough for this." And turns around to see Sly and Carmelita are laughing their heads off at something.

Carmelita saw Sly was a bit sad still and so she began looking around to make a joke about something, her eyes land on her father speaking into the radio. She then get an idea and says "watch this." And begins talking in a low voice "Have the doughnuts arrived yet?" In perfect synch with her fathers lips and then says in a high pitch voice "Did you say doughnuts or deznuts?" After a minute or two Carmelita goes back to a deep voice "I said doughnuts not deznuts." Then back to the high pitch voice "oh, ya they arrived." Carmelitas father then puts the radio down and rubs his forehead and Carmelita says "Idiot." And after the last part Sly and Carmelita both started to laugh their heads off.

Carmelitas father turns around to see them both laughing and yells to the both of them "come on, let's get a move on." As he motions to the police cruiser. Carmelita makes a bee line for the car and as she does she yells "SHOTGUN!" And grabs the handle on the passenger side door flinging it open and hoping in with a swift motion. Sly stays seated on the bench unsure of what to do. Carmelitas father then motion for Sly to follow and saying "come, we are taking you to your home." Sly felt a bit reluctant to follow but obeyed the police officer and climbed into the police cruiser scared of what might happen next.
