2 “I ran”

Sly wakes up to a squirt gun being pointed to his face, and then suddenly hearing a girl's voice say "You are under arrest now." In a cheery kind of way. Sly gets up quickly terrified at the thought of going to jail and starts to cry. As soon as Sly starts to cry the girl then puts down her squirt gun and says "Fine, you aren't going to jail."sounding a tiny bit disappointed but a bit more panicky that she made him cry. Sly hears this and stops crying but still sniffs a tiny bit as the tears stop running down his face. Sly then looks at the girl in front of him, the first thing that catches his eye is her dark blue hair that extends down the center of her back into a French braid, which to Sly made the girl look cute. She then asks "What's your name buddy?" as she looks at him with a half calm and relief face that he stopped crying, Sly then says "S-S-Sly." still a tiny bit scared of the girl. The girl then says "Well then Sly, my name is Carmelita." Soon as Carmelita says her name Sly hears a deep and scary voice behind her "Leave that poor boy alone." To Sly the voice sounded terrifying and jumped at the sound of it. Sly looked over Carmelita to see a big muscley guy in a cops uniform examining Sly's family cane, Sly suddenly remembered that his mother had told him to protect the cane with his life. So sly got up and tried to walk over to the police officer but could move and said "C-c-c-could I h-h-have that b-b-back p-p-please." While shaking and trying not to cry from how terrified he was of the police officer. The police officer looked over at Sly and saw that Sly was on the brink of crying, and whispered to himself "To heck with it." and turns to Sly holding out the cane for Sly to take Which is when Sly slowly shuffled close enough to grab the cane. Soon as Sly grabbed the cane the police officer said "It can't even be a murder weapon, so why be so scared." Soon as Sly heard the word murder Sly went pale and made his way back to to the bench and as soon as he sat back down with his cane Carmelita faced Sly and said "Don't worry about my father." as she throws her thumb over her shoulder "I'll keep him in line." Sly knew she was trying to cheer him up but it wasn't working. Carmelitas father then asks "where do you live Sly?" As soon as sky hears the question he says in a shaky voice " Th-Th-They-a-a-a-are-d-d-d-d-dea…" Carmelitas father interrupts "no need to say anymore." As he holds up his hand and walks back to his cop car and pulls out his radio. He then says "Could someone come down to town square and pick up the kid of that recent dead family." Sly and Carmelita both heard this and were a bit shocked but it mostly came as a surprise to Sly, because town square was 5 miles away from his house. Carmelitas father starts to snicker a tiny bit while saying "Ya, I don't know how he got this far either." Sly knew they were talking about him, and so Sly stood up and walked over to Carmelitas father, and quietly said "I ran." Carmelitas father asked "what?" confused for a minute then Sly said again louder "I ran." Putting two and two together carmelitas father realized what he said and of course didn't believe Sly but he still picked up the radio and said into it "The kids said he ran here." Sly was close enough to hear laughter on the other side of the radio
