2 Surprise

The sound of wings flapping woke me up from my deep slumber. A frown formed upon my face, whilst I sleepily tried to think of where the sound could have come from. I slowly opened my eyes to see a tiny lime green dragon with its tongue sticking out. Jym. The little dragon flew playfully around my room, excited for the day ahead. I smiled at his goofyness.

I got up from the hammock and went to the drawer to get my clothes.

I was wearing my signature dark green outfit with a vine belt in the middle and my cape and boots to fit. I grabbed my bow and arrows before leaving the room with Jym following closely behind.

When I got to the front door I stretched my arms out and breathed a deep sigh. The view in front of me always took my breath away. The way the rabbits seem to dance around playfully while the birds sang them a song. The way the deer walked gracefully to their grazing area. The woods. The place where I could always find peace. I was relaxed even.

Well that was until Risto came charging down at me. "Woah boy." I said with my hands held before me. Even I knew Risto who was 6'2 feet tall could kill me with his weight. Risto came to a sudden stop before me. Making the dirt fly in every direction, including mine."Really Risto? I just woke up!" I said sternly while I put my hands on my hips.

Risto bowed low with his head on the ground and started to make a low whining sound.

I couldn't help but forgive the poor thing. I just couldn't help it. He looked so adorably fluffy and cute when he did that. I smiled at Risto while ruffling the fur on top of his head. He jumped up in joy and started chasing his tail. "Oh Risto." I sighed while shaking my head.

"Hey Leetu!" I turned around to see Tsavia standing next to a tree, waving at me with her hand in the air. She was wearing her normal outfit. A weirdly short black metal shirt/bra (she calls it the boy magnet) and very tight looking black pants, with her usual high heeled boots. Sometimes I wonder how she can walk in those heels, in these woods. I mean it's impossible. Her long dark purple hair seemed to float around her due to the wind that was blowing.

I walked up to her with a grin on my face. "Hey Tsavia, what's up?"

"Uhmm... the sky ???" Tsavia said, looking confused. "Anyway I came here to ask if I can have my birthday present now." I looked at Tsavia with a frown on my face, until I realised that I had forgotten her birthday. Oh crap. "Oh your birthday present... uhm...yeah about that..." I said scratching behind my neck.  How could I forget her birthday ? She's been going on and on and on about it for days. Now I don't have a present for her.

"Don't tell me you forgot." She said with those big black/grey eyes of hers filling up with tears. Oh man, I had to tell her something. "Of course I didn't forget." I said with a forced grin. "How could I forget? I was about to go on a trip with Edwin to get that birthday gift for you." Tsavia's face instantly lit up and she gave me a quick hug. "Thank you so much Leetu! I knew you wouldn't ever forget to give me a gift on my birthday." She said while letting me go." I'll see you later then" with that Tsavia turned around and skipped away while she hummed a tune.

What have I done ?

I turned around and looked back at Risto. "What am I going to do?" I asked silently to him. Afraid that someone would hear what I have done. Risto just cocked his head to the side eyeing me warily. Like I just lost my mind. What am I going to do? Well I should probably go and get Tsavia's gift...

But what gift am I going to give her? Maybe a new outfit? I could always go to the nearest village and buy one? Nah, that's not going to work. Tsavia atleast got like a thousand outfits. Then what am I going to get her?

While a flock of thoughts seem to bombard my mind, Edwin came walking up towards me. His blond/white hair wasn't too long but neither too short. His build wasn't of a god but rather a warrior. His white shirt seemed to cling to his skin and his pants was made of leather from the first deer he killed. All men had to wear something from their first kill. It's what made them men. I don't actually understand it, but you could never question tradition.

He came to a stop in front of me, a smile on his well structured face. "Hey Leetu." He said in that deep voice of his. A deep red colour formed on my cheeks as I looked up at him. His intense grey eyes seemed to capture my soul. "Hey" I said shyly as I looked down towards my boots. They were beginning to wear out. I needed to get a new pair,I thought silently while Edwin laughed at my antics. "So what are you doing today?" Edwin asked after a moment of silence.

I swallowed my shyness away and looked back up at those incredible eyes of his. "Well... uhm... I was actually thinking of going on a quest to find Tsavia a birthday present." He seemed to be in thought before asking me:"Are you going alone?" He looked at me curiously as I tried to think of how I was going to answer. "I was actually thinking that you could maybe, only if you wanted to, ...uhmmm... come with me?" He seemed to be surprised for a second before excitement shown across his face.

"Of course I want to come with you! Who wouldn't want to spend time with their beautiful girlfriend , while going on a quest?" He asked defiantly. I just stated at him, blue eyes wide with surprise. He actually wanted to come? Oh well, it's not like I'm complaining."When do we start?" He asked before I could change my mind. "Ok well, I was actually thinking that we could start now?" I said uncertainly. I mean what else are we going to do for the whole day? Might as well begin with the quest. "Then what are we waiting for?" Edwin said as he stomped of looking for his horse Aris.

I shook my head at the situation I got myself into. Edwin could be a handful at times, and I still didn't know what to get Tsavia for her birthday."At least this quest won't be boring." I muttered inwardly to myself. I walked back into the old brown cottage. I grabbed the leather bag that Nana got for my sixteenth birthday and put all the necessities we would need for the quest into it. I then grabbed a pen and paper and wrote Nana a letter of where I was going and what I would be doing.

I walked back outside and right into a quest that would change my life.
