13 Iblis

Madoc, Jacob, sir Gawain and some knights, were at a nearby village.

" This is the village, where the report said there would be a witch " Said sir Gawain from on his horse.

" Indeed. Let us quickly find this witch, so the people here don't die, by the witch " Said Madoc on his horse with Jacob.

Suddenly a young man came running towards Madoc and the group.

" I found the witch. Please follow me " Said the young man.

Than the young man, then ran off into the nearby forest, and the group followed behind.

After awhile the group now stood face to face with the witch.

" Surrender, witch. You are under arrest for the murder and sickness of these villagers " Said sir Gawain.

" The only thing I regret. Is that I was not able to kill all the people in that village " Said the witch.

Sir Gawain struck a mortal blow to the witch. The witch laid on the ground, bleeding out from her wound, but before the witch died. The witch appeared behind the young man, and struck a knife straight into his chest, and Said " You are the reason I die this day, and for that, I curse you. May your soul fall into the dark depths of hell "

Madoc threw the witch of the young man.

The young man was now on the ground, bleeding from his chest. Madoc held the young man's left hand, and Said " Hang in there. Jacob, what of the witch "

Jacob examined the witch, and Said " She is dead, Master "

Madoc looked back at the young man, and noticed that the young man's breathing was getting slower and slower.

" Tell me your name, brave one " Said Madoc holding the young man's left hand even tightly.

The young man coughed up some blood, and then Said " My...name…. is Eliwlod….sire "

" Eliwlod. I shall never forget your name. As long as I live '' Said Madoc.

" Sire…. is….. it…. true, that my soul…. shall be lost…. in hell " Said Eliwlod, with tears running down his cheeks.

" You have my word. That your soul shall enter Avalon, without question, so please, wait for us there " Said Madoc.

"....I…. will…..sire…." Said Eliwlod with a smile, and let out his final breath.

Madoc still held onto Eliwlod's left hand, and then started to cry.

Jacob slowly walked over to Madoc.

".....master…. " Said Jacob with a concerned look on his face.

After awhile. Madoc and the others held a funeral for Eliwlod. During the funeral. Jacob noticed that Madoc was crying, the whole time.

A few days have gone by, but Jacob noticed that his master was still shaken up a bit. It was like, Madoc was afraid that Eliwlod was not in Avalon.

One night. Jacob was in his bed in the storage room with the others, but Jacob did not sleep. He was just staring at the ceiling, and then teleported out off the room. Jacob ended in a nearby forest.

" Father…. I need your help " Said Jacob up at the night sky.

A white light filled the night sky, and in front of Jacob stood his father. The archangel Gabriel.

" What is it my son? "

" Please father, tell me. Is the soul of the man named Eliwlod in this Avalon?"

Gabriel looked at his son (with a concerned look on his face) and Said " I am afraid that the soul of the man named Eliwlod, is not in the heaven, that your master talks off "

"But…. than where is his soul? "

Gabriel looked at his son, and than Said " His soul is in hell. Iblis domain "

Jacob felt sick, and after getting his bearings. Jacob Said " Father. Can you bring Eliwlod's soul out from hell? "

Gabriel looked away from his son, and after a few seconds, looked back at his son, and Said " it is not that I can't. It is more like, that I am not allowed to enter Iblis domain "

Jacob understood his father's situation. So he did not get angry, but Jacob was still determined.

" Then I shall go to hell, and get back Eliwlod's soul "

Gabriel had a even more concerned look on his face now.

" My son…. but before Gabriel could finish his sentence. Jacob continued " I know what you want to say father, but you can not change my mind "

Gabriel could see the determined look, on his son's face.

" Very well my son "

Gabriel than tapped his right foot on the ground, and then stairs (going downward) appeared.

" Listen close my son. Walk down these stairs. You will arrive at a road. At the end off that road. You will find Iblis himself, but whatever you do. Do not, and I repeat. Do not go off that road. Whatever you see or hear "

Jacob nodded, and then started to walk down the stairs, but before going any further down the stairs. Jacob looked back at his father, and Said " Thank you father "

Gabriel looked at his son, and then Said " Do not thank me, my son. Just make sure that you come back "

Jacob once again nodded, and then walked down the stairs. Disappearing into the ground.

The hole on the surface (that Gabriel had made) was now gone, and then the sky once again light up (with a white light) and then, Gabriel could no longer be seen in the forest.

After having walked down the stairs. Jacob ended up at a road. The road was narrow and straight forward, but on each side of the road. Were flames, but Jacob was not discouraged. Jacob immediately started to walk down the road.

Jacob kept on walking and walking. The were no concept of time were Jacob was walking. So he had no idea for how long he had walked, and to make matters worse. The whole time Jacob was walking. He could hear people screaming, and talking inside the flames.

" This is even worse than what I read in Dante's inferno " heard Jacob some soul say inside the flames. There were even souls begging for help, but no matter how much Jacob wanted to help them. He had to remain focused, but after a while. Jacob threw up on the road. Because he did not just hear things, but he could also see things in the flames. Horrible things. Things that would even make a murder puke.

Jacob wiped his mouth, and continued walking.

After having walked a while more. Jacob could finally see the end off the road up ahead.

Jacob ran the rest of the way. Till he finally reached the end off the road, and what he saw before him. Left him speechless. Jacob saw stairs going upwards, and on each side of the staircase, were fires with blood red flames. At the top of the staircase, was a golden throne, and on that golden throne. Sat a man. With angel wings, but those angel wings were different. Because they were on fire.

Jacob got a closer look at the man on the golden throne, and saw that the man could fill any (man or woman) with Lust and desire with his looks alone.

" I see that Guillaume Geefs and Jozef Geefs got your looks down perfectly. Oh fallen archangel of pride " Said Jacob while walking up the stairs.

" Would you believe that I posed for them in their dreams " Said Iblis.

Jacob now stood face to face with Iblis.

" Ah. Son of Gabriel. What brings you to my home? "

" I am here for the soul of Eliwlod. Do you have it? "

Iblis put out his right hand, and in the palm of his right hand appeared a bright yellow ball. Jacob went to take the ball, but than Iblis closed his right hand.

" Not so fast. What are you willing to give in return? " Said Iblis with a smile, and without hesitation. Jacob said " I give my soul in exchange "

" Denied "

" but why? " said Jacob surprised.

Iblis laid back in his golden throne, and then said " If I were to take your soul, and thus your life. Your father (Gabriel) would come down to hell himself. To get back your soul, and your life, and with him. He would bring a hell of his own. The fight between he and I. Would surely create a second hell. Which I am not interested in. So offer me something else or leave "

Jacob looked around nervous, but then Jacob took the water bottle from around his waist, and put it in front of Iblis with his right hand.

" What the hell is that? " asked Iblis looking at the water bottle.

" It is a bottle filled with water "

" Water? "

" Yes. I am sure that down here. You do not get to taste water that often. So in exchange for my water. You give me Eliwlod's soul "

Iblis looked at the water bottle, and than took the water bottle from Jacob. Iblis opened the led, and then started to drink from the water bottle, and kept on drinking from the bottle. Until there was no more water left.

" I must say, that tasted better than I expected. I accept your trade, child " Said Iblis.

Iblis then made Eliwlod's soul reappear in the palm of his right hand.

Jacob took hold of the soul that was shaped like a ball.

Jacob than walked down the stairs. When Jacob was in front of the road. He looked back at Iblis, and Iblis was just smiling.

After having walked a long time once again. Jacob appeared back on the the surface, where the stairs begun. With Eliwlod's soul in both his hands. Jacob saw the hole (where the stairs begun) on the ground, disappear.

" I did it. Now to ask father to take Eliwlod's soul to Avalon " Said Jacob to himself, but before Jacob could call his father. Jacob heard a voice from behind him.

" I see. So you must be Jacob. Gabrielsson "

Jacob turned around. To see an archangel before him, but it was not his father. It was the archangel Azrael.
