Captain Cuttlefish

Niki and Kai tumbled and turned as they fell down through the unstable floor, crashing into the pipes and wires strung around them. Hitting the floor bruised and scraped, their eyes were as foggy as they could be. Before they could process what happened, a strange voice was heard above them.

"Hello? Hello!" The mysterious voice said.

Niki's voice sounded sickly, "Uhhh-"

"Where are we?" Kai asked scratching the bump on his head.

"I should be asking the same thing!" The voice chirped. "Anyway, how did you even get here?"

"I...I don't remember," Kai said. "I don't remember anything."

Niki sat up, "Neither do I."

"Oh so you two have lost your memory have ya, well I guess we can team up for now."

"What do you mean team up for now?" Kai asked.

"Well, your kind and my kind are enemies!"

"We are?" Niki questioned.

"But...But I don't want to be enemies!" Kai cried.

"I said we have a temporary truce."

"Oh... okay."

"Anyways, what is your name?" Niki asked.

"Oh right! Me and my old brain, I nearly forgot. My name is Captain Cuttlefish." He said as he struck a pose.

"Oh okay!" Kai smiled.

"Well, why don't you tell me your names?"

"Oh, my name is..." He thought for a moment, "Kai! I think..."

"And my name is Niki I believe."

"Ok then! Kai, Niki, we need to find a way out of here... so can you two help me out?" Captain Cuttlefish said.

"Okay, we can do that!" Kai smiled and jumped up and down.

"Yeah, sure thing. We want to get out of here just as much as you do. I can't remember much, and I want to get my memory back." Niki demanded.

"Alright, you two whippersnappers, get to work!"

So Kai and Niki started to explore the unusual place that they were located. Soon enough, they  found themselves at a broken-down subway station.
