41 Building a manor and Wizarding Council

Looking around I noticed I was standing on a small bleak island, the ground was mostly moss-covered damp stone as waves crashed against the low edges. The island that was pretty much a big rock, it wasn't what I hoped for, sure I could engrave it with runes and extend it but I wanted something more.

I looked at Zodry and he seemed to understand and we apparated away again and landed on another island or more like two islands connected by a beach. We were located in the centre of a loch between the isle of mull and the Scottish mainland, this island was barren not a single soul was here, grass and trees scattered around them and a small peak of stone was on one. It was perfect, with some nature manipulation and charms this could be the home of my family, I could even use the second islands for the children, their families and my pack.

"Zodry this is the one!" I shouted with a bright smile.

"Great master! Zodry will help!" He replied exuding enthusiasm.

As I walked up and down the coastline I was manipulating the earth to harden, I didn't want the waves to start deteriorating the island making it smaller. While doing that I was laying down a string of runes that overlapped around and joined together, luckily the island was on an offshoot of a magical leyline that ran towards the Scottish highlands that would power the runes indefinitely.

The runes were my variation of the muggle repelling charm, concealing charms but made with runes I also added magic gathering runes to make the island a magic haven so to speak.

After that was done I pulled all the plants and trees into the earth and decompose to make it fertile ground, I then took the leftover wood that had dark blue veins and planted its roots, I forced it to grow and repeated it until I had a small grove of magic trees. It was a beautiful tree with spiralling veins along its trunk, the leaves were a blue-green colour that shone in the sunlight.

At the side of the grove, I continued to manipulate nature and had wild grasses growing throughout the island at varying lengths. Happy with my progress I moved on to where I would build the manor as I contemplated in what style I wanted to build it, I wanted it to be two stories with a basement so I pulled up the earth and moved it away as I set the boundaries I thought was big enough.

"Zodry can you turn this earth into stone?" I asked the little guy that had been following me around.

"Yes, master Fenrisúlfr! Zodry will make stone blocks for the master!" Zodry shouted and ran off to complete his task while I continued my own.

I smoothed out the walls of the pit I had dug and turned the walls into solid stone a few inches thick as well as the floor, I left some holes in the floor and walls for the plumbing I would set as I built the house. As zodry made blocks of stone I enlarged and cut them to shape building a floor that covered the pit, dug out foundations and set in the stone blocks. With me largening them with runes they were permanently that size until the rune was scrubbed off.

After a few hours sitting down stones and supporting wooden beams made from the wood in the grove as I regrew the trees, I ended up with a manor house with a large entrance hall with an open ceiling that had a split staircase with a landing halfway with a spiral bannister, all made from the blue-veined wood. A dining room with a large window overlooking the coast and a sitting room towards the back of the house with a fireplace large enough to warm the whole building. The kitchen was in the corner adjacent to the dining room and sitting room for easy service. I made a stone oven and left stairs into the basement for storage, I had a place in the kitchen runed as a fridge and freezer.

Upstairs there was a bathroom with a bath that filled half the room, I used runes with an activation sequence to supply hot and cold water, a separate toilet was just across the hall that used a similar rune scheme to flush away the waste into the earth to become compost in an underground plot in the garden area, I used some creative runes for that to help fertilise the ground to help plants grow.

Adjacent to the toilet was a few guest bedrooms towards the front of the house on one side of the staircase the opposite side was a reflection with the same design. At the back of the house behind the bathroom was the master bedroom it was large and had a walk-in closet on either side.

I left everything unfurnished as I knew Clio would have something to say about it if I didn't give her the option.

After that was done I made a few small houses for the elves and their families if they ever began to reproduce, I knew Falrely and Meely are a couple but I was unsure about the rest.

I'm glad I started this early as I didn't have much daylight left and wanted to go back and spend some time with my wife, it would probably be for the best as I could ask the children their input as well.

Unfortunately, there weren't any animals on the islands, and I would have to capture some to live in the grove maybe a few deer, rabbits, maybe a squirrel or 2 for toskr. I could cast a widespread animal mating charm to speed up the population it only lasted a season so it wouldn't get out of hand. Speaking of toskr he stayed behind with Clio, he said hed watch over them while I was away, I couldn't ask for a better friend.

"Zodry let's go back I'm done for the day!" I shouted and he came running with a big smile he was going to brag to the others that he had helped today.

"Yes, master!" He shouted as he gripped my hand and we popped away again, a few seconds later we landed in the garden.

As I looked around I was surprised to see a few unfamiliar faces, a group of 12 people were stood opposite Clio and the children with weary expressions of each of their faces, but there was a familiar face that made me smile,

"Everything okay Clio?" I asked making my presence known to everyone there.

"Fenris! I'm glad your back" Clio spoke in a relieved tone as she walked towards me and greeted me with a kiss. The guests who I wasn't acquainted with looked around and flinched when they saw me, except for one man I was familiar with that I hadn't seen in a few years.

"Who are our guests Clio?" I inquired as I looked lovingly at my wife, she returned the look and began to whisper

"They're from the wizard's council mainly the heads of some magical houses of the kingdoms"

With a nod, I turned to look at the gathered guests that had weary expressions and looked at the old acquaintance mine with a smile,

"Geraint! It's been a few years looks like you are doing well for yourself" I exclaimed walking towards him.

"Fenrisúlfr, it's good to see you" he replied as he walked forwards as well and we shook hands.

"Hmm, how is the wand treating you?" He asked with a curious expression,

"It's brilliant Geraint, casts with ease and is precise I could cut the wings of a fly" I answered with enthusiasm and continued to ask a question I was curious about,

"did you ever use the crystal I left you?"

"Ah yes the prismatic crystal, I broke it down and made 7 wands but none have been claimed as of yet but.." he answered with a glint of excitement in his eye, but our conversation was cut off by a cough that brought our attention to the rest gathered.

"Ah yes, sorry Fenrisúlfr allow me to introduce my acquaintances, these lady's and gentlemen are seat holders that precede the Wizarding council" Geraint motioned with a sweep of his hand to the 11 gathered in front of us.

A fairly tall, dark-haired slim man, wearing a black robe over a simple black tunic with a scabbard hanging from his waist stepped forward and glared with confidence in his eyes

"Greetings, my name is Dunstan, son of Egbert, as a member and chair holder of the Council we have arrived today to liberate your slaves!"

"What thrall are you speaking of?" I asked with mild confusion I don't own a slave at all.

"These young witches and wizards you have captured here!" He shouted as I looked at him with a blank expression until I couldn't hold it any more and burst out laughing

"Pffft hahahahaha, slaves? Do they look like they're locked up here? You accuse me of capturing them when it was me! who liberated them from you ilk! I saved these children from Wizards! And not just these but even more that went back to their families" I shouted as I let out magic to pressure over the group apart from Geraint.
