Chapter 14: Meeting All Might (III)

"But what if I tell you I can heal you back to full health?" Shido dropped the bomb.

"Wh...what!!!???" Toshinori hurriedly stood up and went towards Shido. He tried grabbing his shoulders but his hand slipped through his body. He stumbled a bit before balancing himself once more. He looked straight into Shido's eyes, and asked again,"Are you sure you can heal me back to full health? The best doctors and healers had tried their best in even conserving my life, much less healing me, but you can do it? You can heal me?"

Toshinori had lost almost all his hopes in doing his hero job full time. He intended to search for a successor before passing away, but Shido's words rekindled his hopes once more. He didn't fully believe him, after all, many top doctors with vast medical knowledge, along with many people with strong healing quirks had tried to fully heal him and failed to do so. The most they could do was preserve his health, and recommend him to not use his quirk any more than he should since it would damage his body every time he uses it.

"Yes, I can fully heal you. In fact, by the time I finish healing you, you would be able to switch forms anytime you want, earning yourself a disguise as well. After all, you don't want to go to the market with your huge form, do you?" Shido chuckled as he continued staring at Toshinori and waited for his answer.

After thinking carefully about his offer, Toshinori decided to take it, but decided to ask the most important question first,"What do you want in return? I'm sure that you are doing this for a reason."

Shido smiled and stated his compensation,"Firstly, I want to live here. I don't have a home and I was wandering around Japan, playing my music and hosting concerts until now."

"Of course, even without you asking, I would have asked you to stay here. I don't know how strong you are, but as a hero, I can't let a seven-year-old boy just roam around without a guardian now that I know your age." Toshinori nodded his head without hesitation. Of course, there was another reason why he wanted Shido to remain here, to keep an eye on him since he was dangerous. Although not now, there was a possibility that he might turn into a vigilante, or worse, a criminal in the future.

"Great! Secondly, I want you to make an identity for me. Currently, I don't have one. You can be my guardian, uncle, father, grandfather, I don't really mind as long as you can prove that you're on my side." Although Toshinori kept a calm facial expression on his face, he was surprised internally. He didn't think that a seven-year-old boy could have such a sharp mind. 'With this condition, he would have my unconditional support in almost every he wants to do, except for criminal activities. So as long as he doesn't harm innocents, he would have my support.'

"Very well, but if you ever harm innocents or do criminal activities, I will stop you myself." Toshinori agreed, but added his own condition as well. He didn't want to support a criminal.

"Sure. Lastly, it's not really a condition, more of a request. I want to know more about your quirk. I know almost everything, but it's always good to hear it from someone with the experience rather than from a record. In return I will tell you parts of my quirk." Shido stated as he watched Yoshinon eat his apples. 'This is his 30th apple today. How many more is he going to eat?'

Toshinori followed his eyes and looked towards Yoshinon as well, thinking 'What is this puppet? Is this part of his quirk as well?'

"As long as you don't spread my quirk to the public, I'll tell you. So that's all you want in return?" Toshinori asked.

"Of course you still have to feed us, but apart from that, if there is nothing else, I look forward to living together with you. I will tell you straight up, I still don't trust you fully yet, but being the number 1 hero gave you some credibility, so I decided to stay here with you."

"..." Toshinori was speechless at this seven-year-old boy. "Sigh, that is a good caution to have. Very well, so when and how are you going to heal me?"

"Whenever you want. As for how, you'll have to find out later." Shido said playfully, though his voice was still distorted.

Toshinori thought for a while before replying,"Let's do it tomorrow then, it's already nighttime." After finishing, he looked at the empty bowl in the sink before continuing,"I see you have already eaten, time for you to go to bed then. You're a child, so sleep early so that you can grow well, all right?"

"Fine...after I heal you tomorrow, I'll let you get used to your previous strength for a while first. Afterwards, I want to fight you!" Shido exclaimed excitedly.

"Fine, fine, but for now, go to sleep. You are still a growing boy after all. And will you show me your appearance? I can't give you a proper identity without me seeing it at least once after all." Toshinori asked. Well, that was part of the reason why he asked. Another part of him was curious about his appearance. After all, all humans are innately curious about things they do not know, and fear them subconsciously. Adding on to the fact that Phantom was an enigma that no one knew about, he thought that he would be the first to see his appearance.

Shido thought for a while before agreeing. "Sure, why not? After all, I'll be living with you from now on." Saying that, he unmosaiced himself, fully revealing his features for the first time in months.

On the table, a rabbit could be seen munching on an apple. The rabbit had a button as his right eye which resembled an eye-patch and a small pink dot as his left eye. Surrounding its neck was a yellow triangular shaped cloth. 'A rabbit eating an apple? I thought rabbits ate carrots instead?' Toshinori thought to himself before turning to look at the mysterious Phantom.

Least to say, the boy in front of him was extremely cute and handsome. He had seen many different people before, but never one like the boy before him.

He had light indigo coloured hair, matching his flawless, healthy, pale-white skin. He donned a matching indigo-coloured, short-sleeved shirt and long pants. What attracted him the most was his eyes. His right eye was red in colour, showing the stark contrast between the blood red and pale white of his skin. His left eye was hidden behind his fringe, but looking closely, he realised that it was gold in colour, and had something in it. "Is your left eye special?" Toshinori asked curiously.

"Yep! You will be able to see it tomorrow. Now that you've seen me and Yoshinon, I'll go to bed. Nighty-night!" Shido said before rushing upstairs to one of the spare rooms and laid down on the king-sized bed present with Yoshinon following after him.

Not long after, he soon drifted off to the land of dreams, while Toshinori also retired to his bedroom, thinking about the conversation he had with Phantom, no, Shido.
