Chapter 100: Yo!

A few weeks have passed since Eri had gotten her revenge. Her grandfather now lived alongside Shido and Eri and was introduced to All Might. Seeing the ex-number one hero's pathetic look, he felt a tinge of sympathy together with tons of admiration.

Now that his gang had been utterly annihilated by his future grandson-in-law, he was now free of all responsibilities and can live as a free-loader in All Might's house.

It wasn't as though he didn't want to rebuild his Yakuza gang, but under Shido's and All Might's scrutiny, he couldn't find an opportunity to do so. But it wasn't as though he desperately wanted to revive the Yakuza.

For the time being, he would just spend the majority of his time with his granddaughter.

However, when he realized that his granddaughter had been sleeping on the same bed with Shido for the past five years, he got pissed, to which Shido smirked.

Putting that aside, Shido also went back to work as per usual. It was a rare moment of peace, for the teachers, that is. The students were busying their ass off to study and work hard.

Katsuki and Shoto went to the remedial courses alongside two familiar Shiketsu High School members, tasked with winning the kids' hearts from Masegaki Primary School. Shido wasn't there at the scene, but he must have imagined how hard it would be for Katsuki to deal with the brats.

Each of the other students also became more familiar with one another over the weeks, with Aoyama constantly feeding Izuku cheese now.

Shido chose not to comment on that and moved on with his life.

"We have a cultural festival." Aizawa announced with his usual monotonous voice in a new sleeping bag that he had gotten from Shido for his birthday. Like any other day in the classroom, Aizawa's unkempt hair was present alongside his half-open red eyes.

"SO SCHOOL-LIKE!!" The students were pleasantly surprised by the announcement of an ordinary activity after being bombarded by various hero training.

"Culture festival!!"

"The school-like stuff has come!!"

"Let's decided what we're gonna do!"

"Is it really okay for us to be so carefree at this point in time?!?!" Tenya raised his hand robotically and questioned, "Especially during this 'proliferation of villains' period!"

[A/N: I did not type it wrong. It's Tenya who asked it since Kirishima didn't attend the Yakuza cleanse, his mentality didn't mature as much as it should have, but his powers still remain the same.]

"That's an excellent point." Shido replied while standing beside Aizawa, "However, you have to realize that UA High School doesn't just revolve around the hero department. If the athletic festival is sponsored by the hero department, then the culture festival is in the domain of other departments."

Aizawa continued, "The level of exposure may not be comparable, but to them, it's an exciting festival. Moreover, the truth of the matter is that there's a considerable number of students who are stressed out from the daily activities of the hero department and its new boarding system."

"I see! So the cultural festival is for the other departments to have a chance to show off their skills and at the same time, rest our mental fatigue from all that is happening?!" Tenya exclaimed, "Truly a top school, a perfect balance of rest, play and work. At the same time, it also lets everybody have an equal chance to shine!"

"..." Both teachers were speechless by Tenya's conclusion, but they had no problem with Tenya glorifying the school. After all, if the school had honestly thought as far as Tenya did, it would mean that the school would become more well-received by the masses. And that would mean a pay rise for both of the teachers.

"Indeed." Shido shamelessly nodded his head and agreed. Aizawa stared at him, but Shido's thick skin didn't let it bother him.

Shido stated, "This year will be different from past years. Part of the staff will be cut, and the culture festival will only occur within the school. We've already said we're not the main drivers of this event, but each class has to pick one program as a rule. Thus, we'll be deciding on that today."

[A/N: A program refers to the theme a class chooses to execute(from T/N in the manga).]

And so, the two class representatives went on the podium and started the discussion.

It seemed that Izuku had slightly matured as Shido observed that Izuku wasn't shaking and shivering up on the podium.

As soon as Izuku asked for suggestions from his classmates, everyone instantly raised up their hands simultaneously. Their actions were so strong and synchronized that a gush of wind was created.

Shido had to manipulate the wind so that it didn't blow away all the papers he was marking at the corner. As the teacher, he wanted to let them enjoy their own youth.

Perhaps he would enjoy his own youth in the future, but for now, he would relish his childhood by marking more papers...how sad...

Aizawa wasn't helping as he just sat down beside Shido and slept in his sleeping bag.

'Am I the homeroom teacher or assistant teacher?'

As he marked their papers, he also paid attention to their discussion every once in a while. And he had to say, it was quite entertaining to see what goes on in teenagers' minds.

Shido had heard of a 'maid cafe' before, but 'titty bar'? Never. What on Earth was a 'titty bar'?

He was about to summon his book and ask Rasiel when Aizawa held his hand down.

"Don't get corrupted at a young age."

"So killing is fine but not that 'titty bar'?"

"Yes."

"...Okay then..."

Under Aizawa's gaze, he didn't manage to find out what a 'titty bar' was but assumed it was something perverted, seeing that Mineta immediately got tied up upside down like a punching bag by Tsuyu.

Tsuyu managed to tie him up within a second, which made Shido how good she was at tying things up.

After that perverted suggestion, a bunch of more ordinary ideas came up.

Competition for arm wrestling, dancing, food stall, petting zoo, and even Aoyama's very own glitter show was included in the suggestion. Every student came up with one idea, and after everyone's suggestion was consolidated, Momo started crossing out the inappropriate, unrealistic ones or ones that she didn't understand.

However, they weren't able to narrow it down by the end of the class. When the bell rang, Aizawa unzipped his sleeping bag and folded it neatly before leaving the classroom.

"It was a pointless meeting in the end, huh? Make a decision by tomorrow morning."

Before stepping out, however, he threatened them, "If you can't decide by tomorrow morning...we'll have a public lecture!"

The next morning, after bidding Eri and the grumpy old man goodbye, Shido made way to the school via the usual way: Teleportation.

However, it seems that his actions had been too repetitive lately, causing some of his students to predict the area where he would appear.

"Itsukua-sensei!"

Hearing his name, Shido turned around and replied, "Yes. I'm Shido. What do you guys need this early in the morning?"

Jiro, Mina, and some of the other students were present and currently surrounded Shido.

"Itsuka-sensei, we've already decided on the program we want to do."

"Good!" Shido nodded his head and became curious. They didn't need to gather here just to tell him that.

"And we wanted to ask whether you could perform with us."

"Huh?"

"You see, we've decided to do a combination of band performance and dance and you're the famous musician! So we thought that maybe you would like to join us?" Jiro asked shyly.

"Hmm..." Shido thought for a while before eventually nodding his head, "Sure! Why not?"

"Yay!" Mina jumped around and cheered, but Momo had a worried expression on her face.

"But are you allowed to do so? I thought that the teachers weren't allowed to join the class's program."

"Indeed, I'm not allowed to join, but teachers do have a considerable amount of freedom. So I'm going to use that freedom to break the rules! Hahahaha!" Shido had a smug expression that showed 'I'm an accomplished person!'.

"Pft...!" The class spat out but nodded absentmindedly at his declaration.

"Don't worry, I'll convince Aizawa-sensei or principal mouse myself. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some blackma-convincing to do." Shido hurriedly corrected himself before walking towards the staffroom.

'He was about to say 'blackmail', wasn't he?' The students couldn't help but think that.

After much convincing, Shido managed to gain permission from Nezu. Aizawa had no choice but to agree since Nezu was his boss, and his boss had given Shido permission. But it wasn't like Aizawa would disagree in the first place. If anything, Shido being with his students would help improve the security.

"So, Class A's program is a combined band performance and dance, huh?" Vlad King asked while Shido was happily humming while marking more papers.

"Yep! It seems like they had decided on that after considering what they could do to support other departments."

"Well, that's an admirable plan."

"Admirable plan...huh?" Shido muttered unsurely. Jealousy is an innate trait of humans. Seeing other people do better than you will always invoke jealousy, no matter how little.

After the day ended, Shido decided to temporarily move into one of the dormitory's empty rooms. It took a lot of convincing to Eri to live here temporarily, and he had to promise to make up the lost time with her in the future.

On the other hand, her grandfather shooed him away from the house, saying it was best to never come home.

Of course, Shido tied him up like Tsuyu tied up Mineta and only allowed Eri to let him down after a few hours.

After all that drama, he moved in in the evening, when the students had their discussion.

"The cultural festival is just one month away! We don't have much time, so today, I want to decide on a few things." Tenya started the discussion.

"First, music."

"Let's do something groovy!"

"Well, then shouldn't we do a song that's as well known as possible?"

"One that we can dance to~~~!!"

"If that's the case, we might consider four-on-the-floor. And club rick in the style of new rave." When nobody was producing any useful suggestion, Jiro cut in and gave come actual, detailed plans.

"If we're doing dance music, we really should be turning towards EDM...but everyone's set on playing instruments, right? Has anyone here played bass or drums?"

To her question, silence ensued.

"I figured...first, even though the backbone of the band is the drums, my main instrument is the guitar, so my drumming is, frankly, a work in progress. If I have to teach a beginner drums while I also have to practice, one month is way too tight."

At her words, Denki suddenly smacked his palms. Turning towards Katsuki, he said, "Ah! That's right. You were forced to go to music class a while back, weren't you?"

"Eh?"

"Bakugo, why don't you try playing the drums?"

"Can't someone else do it?"

Sero always has a way to deal with people who reject requests, so seeing Katsuki refuse, he put on a mocking expression and purposely said a bit louder than usual, ensuring that Katsuki heard him.

"Seems like it's too difficult!"

A prideful person like Katsuki obviously couldn't handle the provocation and started playing the drums.

In fact, he played so well that even Shido was surprised while Jiro was mindblown.

"P...Perfect."

While everyone cheered and decided that he was on the drums, Katsuki got off the seat and started walking away.

"I ain't doing any of that pointless shit."

"Bakugo, please!" Jiro couldn't let him go if she wanted the band to be successful, so she chased after him, "Or rather, if you do this for me, you'll be a good person!"

"Nothing will come of it!" Katsuki replied harshly, "You guys are selling this as a stress reliever for other departments, aren't ya? Doing shit like that all in the name of 'stress relief' - what else is it other than self-gratification? People that sicken me...don't deserve my courtesy."

The class started clamoring after hearing his words. Shido was also there, but he didn't plan to interfere in any way. His job here was to play the piano for them, not help them get members on board.

Besides, his interference was unneeded. After all, Katsuki was just a massive tsundere.

"Isn't it sickening? We aren't getting smacked down by the villains because we enjoy it...! Why do we have to concern ourselves with people's feelings? If you're all so intent on pleasing everyone, then just quit! Because I'm gonna fight! It's not about indulgence, it's a battle...!! If you're on board, then get ready. Everybody in UA, I'll knock you dead with my sound!!"

Hearing his emotional speech, everybody screamed out his name.

Shido smiled at the scene of his students enjoying their time. Katsuki really wanted to perform on stage, but his pride didn't allow him to do so without any reason at all. So he decided to cook up an excuse that would fit his persona as an 'explosive' boy who loves fighting, turning the initially peaceful discussion into a war discussion.

Shido was just sitting down there, unnoticed by everyone, when Tenya suddenly attracted attention to him.

"Itsuka-sensei! Since when were you here?!"

"Yo!"

*****************

A/N: Just admit it, Katsuki is a massive tsundere, just more tsun part than the dere part when compared to other tsunderes.
