"Guess the only thing I can do now is… Test it." Asper muttered with an excited look.

That brings us back, to now. Asper is conducting his experiment.

*ZZZTT*

"GAAAAAH!"

Asper continuously tazed himself, exposing himself to surges of pain and electricity.

So far, he's lost more than he's gained. Since the only thing he's gained so far is pain and lost is brain-cells.

"God damn it… How much longer…" Asper asked

Drool was flowing out of his mouth and he felt incredibly light headed. He had to hold the cries of pain in so that the neighbors wouldn't cause him problems making this much harder than it was meant to be.

'Fuck… This felt like such a good idea in my head.'

In the beginning, it was quite easy. He easily adapted to the pain and electricity, making him feel no pain whatsoever. The real challenge came after fifteen minutes when both adaptations ended.

"AAARGH!!!"

All the pain which had been held back from the nullification suddenly went crashing down all at once. This process happened over and over and over during the past 12 hours.

However, it didn't happen consistently.

After the adaptations would end. There would be a period where he wouldn't be able to adapt to them again. That was most likely what the notification meant by cool down.

After that period passed, he'd adapt again. The average time for the period to be over was around 30 minutes, although Asper wasn't paying much attention to it.

Even though he knew about the periods, he would continuously tazed himself, whether or not it was on the cool down period. The reason being he wasn't sure whether suffering during the period where the adaptation was on cool down was another condition.

Therefore he would continuously taze himself. With a five minute break in between.

He'd do it over and over and over.

The adaptations he'd be getting were.

Asper would get a speed boost too as extra, although it was completely useless in this situation.

Asper's will was seriously on the verge of breaking. But there was something he'd absolutely have to get, no matter what. A skill which he could only gain through this method. Even if the possibility was slight, it was worth risking.

'How many times… Has it been?' Asper questioned.

How he could still think was beyond him.

Another two hours had passed and he decided to pause for a moment. He was in the cool down period and constantly tazing himself without electricity nullification and pain nullification was really starting to get to him.

Having all the pain come crashing down at once was painful, but slowly feeling the pain surge and get worse and worse as time goes on was just as bad.

"How many more times do I have to do this…?" Asper questioned.

It was just a theory, was it truly worth going through all of this pain just for a theory? Asper's hands were shaking without the fear and anxiety adaptation as they were in cool down. He was having second thoughts.

'No more… I can't…' Asper thought to himself in fear.

All the excitement he had started with was fully drained out.

"I haven't eaten a single bite… That's enough for today, I'll continue again tomo-"

Asper was interrupted as five notifications simultaneously played out in his head.

Asper's heart began to beat faster and faster in excitement as he realized what was about to happen.

It was as if all the pain had left his body, he could feel numbness but that wasn't all.

Despite all the pain which he had felt prior to this, Asper's mind felt strangely at peace after receiving the notification.

Now it was time for the main event. The main reason why Asper had gone through such a torturous experiment.

Asper began to feel a surge of electricity pass through his entire being. But rather than feeling pain or numbness like usual, it felt strangely comforting.

Asper's eyes widened and just as he was about to cheer out in joy.

His vision became blurry and he fainted.

*Growl*

"I know, I know… I'm hungry too." Asper muttered as he patted his stomach.

Although he tried keeping up a calm front, he was incredibly excited. Not just because he had gained a new useful skill, but because he was about to eat some delicious food.

Asper still hasn't tested his new skill, electricity, not because he didn't want to but because he can't.

It's completely drained. It was the first time he had ever gotten it so low or fainted from it. It probably wasn't the only reason he fainted but it sure did help.

"Here is your order, Thank you for waiting." Said the waitress as she brought over the food.

A tall young girl with long yellow hair and eyes wearing a unique and iconic black and yellow waitress outfit which matched with the restaurant colors. She was the same girl who had served Asper as last time, but he was too focused on the food to notice.

Asper stared at the food and without realizing it started to slightly drool. Through his eyes it was literally sparkling.

'A meal like this is not cheap… Paying for bread like I used to when I worked at the mines would also work to satiate my hunger, however… It's too late. I've come too far.'

Asper didn't even bother to convince himself to save up on money. The reason being he didn't need to, the money he had saved in his bank from the beginning should still last a while. Not to mention he had countless monster orbs in his room waiting to be exchanged to the hunters guild.

Although Asper didn't know the hunters he killed, he did know what the tattoos they had meant. They belonged to the purple scorpion gang. A gang made up of corrupted hunters who abuse their power. They're able to get away with the nasty shit simply because of their skills as hunters.

Asper knew that no gang would let it slide if someone were to attack, much less kill one of their members. So he'd avoid showing face for now as to avoid drawing suspicion.

His only hope was that the hunters who he killed didn't tell anyone else that they were after him.

"U-Um…, aren't you going to eat?" The girl asked?

Asper snapped out of his thoughts before looking down at the plate of food in front of him.

Fried prawn with fried eggs and potato fries. Ketchup and mayonnaise were the sauces being used on the side.

"It looks amazing, just as I had expected… Thanks restaurant girl."

'Well, no point in worrying about it now. If it comes down to it. I'll just become strong enough to take them on before they figure out it's me.'

"My name isn't restaurant girl…!" She replied

*Crunch*

'SO GOOOOOOD!' Asper thought to himself as he bit down on the prawn.

Asper forgot all about his worries and could no longer hear her as he indulged himself in the crunchy and sweet flavour of his food.

She frowned her eyebrows waiting for a reply before letting out a sigh.

"Nevermind..."

Later after Asper was finished eating, she went over to hand the tab.

"Thanks Kayla." Said Asper as he placed down the 50 Nova after looking at the bill.

The restaurant girl stood there, frozen in surprise. During that time, Asper got up and left the store.

She was indeed surprised. Not by the fact that he called her out by her name but by the fact that he was actually capable of acknowledging the existence of others. She assumed that all he had ever thought about was food.

"Wait, he called me by my name? How did he-"

"It's on your uniform. Now get back to work." Said Her manager as she pointed at the label on Kayla's uniform. Following that she gave Kayla a slight glare as to get her back on track.

"Y-Yes ma'am!" Said Kayla before clearing out his table.
