28 Exchange Of Bullets.

He motioned his arms to cover his ears but wasn't fast enough

*BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP*

A bright light flashed across filling the whole room as an ear-piercing sound resounded throughout the room.

Fortunately, he had shut his eyes and looked away in time, his ears however, the pain was mind-numbing. It was too distracting.

Asper's eyes rolled back as he nearly fainted from rupturing his eardrums. Blood began flowing down his ears, as he heard a constant screech in his ears.

He couldn't hear anything else aside from that. Despite that, he could feel it. In this one moment where he was disorientated, they had rushed onto the second floor.

Asper could barely think clearly, but the fact remained in his mind. He had to kill them. Even with his ears crying out, even without pain nullification, he kept going.

There were countless pillars around. They didn't have his location, he could use it to his advantage.

Asper leaned over from behind the pillar to peak and see where they were, but the instant he did. His eyes widened.

One of the men, the one with a Mohawk and a strange manacle over his eyes. Was looking right at him the moment he peaked, with the nuzzle of his gun already pointed at Asper.

How?

Asper quickly reverted back to his position, and a series of bullets flew right beside his head and pillar.

*Dudududu*

In that instant, Asper quickly got up before running towards the pillars on his left, away from the staircase which had been behind him.

How?

The moment he had done so, bullets were shot continuously at the pillar which he had been hiding behind, before the shooter diverted his aim away from the pillar and at Asper, tracking his movements as he did so.

It was two. The one shooting was the one in the Mohawk, but once the other noticed Asper's location he too started shooting at him.

Asper stopped behind a pillar as he panted heavily.

How? How did that guy find him? He had masked his presence off and completely hidden his body behind the pillar so how?

*Dududududududu*

Asper knew he couldn't use the pillar as cover for too long as it wouldn't be able to hold out for long enough. Thanks to his health having been somewhat recovered, who could move better but not at full speed.

He had gotten lucky on the past few shots and also lucky that there were countless pillars right beside each other on the floor which they were on, however they could predict which pillar he'd go to and just shoot at it before he reached there.

He quickly racked his brain, before coming to a conclusion.

'Let them waste their ammo, the moment they have to reload. I'll strike-'

Asper quickly rushed from pillar to pillar, barely avoiding their bullets. A few stray ones had managed to graze him, however it didn't stop him.

Right before he had reached the corner of the room. One of them had stopped shooting, Asper caught of glimpse of them before they got behind a pillar to reload.

Asper's eyes widened once he caught glimpse of this opportunity, he quickly came as he neared the walls before quickly changing his direction towards the direction of where they were. He was in one corner and they were in the other corner due to the stair case.

Since they were diagonally away from each other. The pillars provided a better cover for both sides, giving asper the opportunity to approach and confuse them.

<Adapted to internal injury (ear drums)>

<Commencing Recovery>

<Noise-cancellation In temporary effect>

The screech stopped. Asper could now hear nothing. Despite that, he felt so much better. His mind had gone clearer and the painful throb had lessened.

"Hey! What are you waiting for, he's coming!" One of the men shouted.

Asper raised, both hands pointing them in the direction of the two men. He continued to run, even with pillars there. There were still gaps.

"Give me a second-"

*Bang!*

The man with the tattoo on his head was interrupted as a bullet, flew by, grazing him on his cheek.

'Tch- I missed.'

*Bang!* *Bang!*

Because he was moving, His aim was slightly off, he missed again. However, it was fine. They had taken cover now and both had stopped firing, allowing Asper to freely move from the pillars and commence his counter-attack.

*Bang!*

He made sure to fire only when he was sure to hit, to save as much ammunition as possible. Having to reload now, would be the end of him.

*Bang*

The closer he got to them, the harder it was for both of them to take cover, since he was moving from side to side through the pillars, eventually a part of their body would be exposed, unless they moved their positioning too.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS KID!? HOW'S HE SO FAST!?" The man with the tattoo on his head asked.

Right after he had asked that question, he quickly leaned away from the pillar with his electrical assault rifle and started firing non stop.

*Dududududududududu*

"WHY WON'T HE DIE-'

*Bang!* *Bang!*

It was just for a moment, but that was all it took. In that moment, in that one single moment as he continued to rush through the pillars. Thanks to the gap between the pillars and his positioning, he was able to get a clear lock on the man's head and body which was leaned against one of the pillars.

With a clear head and without a hint of hesitation. He pulled the trigger, twice.

<You have slain a Human>

<Inspect details?>

<You have levelled up!>

A double head shot. There was no surviving that. But just when he had thought he had gotten the upper hand.

Asper's eyes widened, when he noticed at the corner of his eyes, the figure of the other man on the side opposite to him. Asper had expected him to be standing on the pillar beside the man who he just shot but that wasn't the case. He had moved. Moved into a perfect position, almost as if it had been planned.

There were no pillars covering Asper from his position. It was as if the man had accurately read and planned for Asper to have been there in that one moment.

It was only then that Asper realized. The man had used his comrade as bait, and Just like a prey being hunted, he had fallen for the bait. There was no time to rotate his body and fire back in re talion. The momentum was pushing forward towards the pillar, but there was no telling he was going to make it in time.

A grin could be seen on the man's face as he fired.

'Motherfu-'

*Dudududududu!*
