9 Single Blessedness

Days , months and years passed. I was in my last year of junior high school while Gelo was graduating from senior high.

He should have been to college but unfortunately he was a year late because of the movie projects he had received in the past.

We became closer and closer each day.

Sometimes we quarrel, we have misunderstandings but what good about us is that we don't let our fights lasts overnight. We resolve our issues even before the day ends.

There are plenty of girls crushing him at school, who wouldn't be? Gelo is undeniably handsome, especially now that he's a grown up man. He often works out in the gym and achieved six pack abs. More girls are drooling over him. They fantasize him. My head often aches because of this girls. They used me to get close to him. All the pretty girls in school wants to date him. But I don't know why he doesn't care about them, he ignored all of them. And until now, it's still a question for me why he has no girlfriend.He never had even once.

He seems to be reducing his time for acting. Though he has many offers but he refuses because he wants to concentrate on his studies. He is graduating in a few months and for now that is his major priority. But sometimes he gets out of town shows on weekends when he is available in school.

He has a lot of fans and also has a fans club.I often told him that if he was just serious about his acting career, he might be just as famous as Shane. He was just laughing at me, studies are more important to him now.

But I'm also afraid that when the time comes and he gets serious about showbiz, maybe he loses time and surely our friendship will be over.

So I just enjoy the moment with him now because I know once he finishes his studies he will concentrate on his acting career. That's the agreement between him and his family. To follow their path.

Carpe diem.Seize the day, as they say.

On my part, there are also boys who wants to express their good intentions on me and hoping that I had noticed them. But I just told them to stop whatever they feel for me even before it started because I don't want to get involve to anyone at this early age. Maybe I'll give it a try in college, but I still think about it. I don't want to be in love as early as Shane, I would rather enjoy being a teenager.

A few more months passed swiftly.

Shane and I attended Gelo's graduation. We are so proud of him for being among the graduates with honors.

His perseverance and his prioritization of studying have resulted.

His parents gave him a blow out at a fine restaurant, they are so proud of him too. This is one of the rare times they were together as a whole family.

When we handed him our gifts, he was pleased with Shane's gift to him, it was the latest computer game gadget but he was more than happy when I handed him my present, he seemed to burst into crying.That's because it's the watch we once saw in Rustans that he wants to buy but can't afford to that time because it is so expensive. So that's what I decided to gave him. It took me a long time to buy that expensive watch. I save my allowances and endured myself not buying anything what I wanted for myself. But now it was worth it because of the happiness I could see in his eyes when he saw my gift.

IT'S SUMMER vacation again. Gelo and I have no intention of going somewhere for a vacation like last year. Shane's whole family is on vacation in the US. So, its sad that we have no cute Dindin to play with.

We just stayed at home, fooling around, watching movies on Netflix, eating outside, sometimes I cooked for him and go shopping at the mall, that usually hindered by his fans who wants to take pictures with him or getting autographs from him. Sometimes he even did a disguise just so we could play at Tom's World.

One Sunday afternoon, while I was watching tv, Gelo's impenetrable face suddenly entered my room.

" What happened to you? Even Pablo Picasso couldn't paint that face of yours." I asked him.

" Your nanny said, someone went here to you last night for courtship. Who's that !? " he annoyingly asked.

What happened to this gorgeous creature?

" He is the son of Andrew's colleague in the municipality. He asked daddy's permission to court me that's why I entertained him. Is there a problem with that? " I neglectfully asked.

He fell silent. He sit back in bed.

He got the tv remote and move the channel switch repeatedly. I just let it. He's not in the mood and I'm not also in the mood to argue with him.

When all of a sudden he approached me and I was stunned when he suddenly hugged me tight and spoke.

" You are so annoying baby! You allow that guy to court you. I'm sure you will leave me when you accept him and be his girlfriend."

Huh? What is it? Am I hearing that from him?

I broke his hug and was annoyed when I faced him.

"Hey! Ariel Angelo what is your drama again? Your such a big guy but it seems like you got robbed of candy there. You think too much. He just said his intention on me once and you think I will answer him right away and be his girlfriend? Heck, can't I checked him first before answering? You therefore made your conclusions even without asking me if I like that guy or not. Where's justice in there my assuming best friend?" he just smiled at what I said. That sweet smile that made my annoyance go away. His dimples were out.

" It's because... " he said while he scratch his head with his hand.

" It's because of what? " I asked, confused.

" Oh enough! " he said, a bit annoyed.

Look at this guy, so annoying.

Oh Gelo, you're so confusing!

" If that guy from last night is the reason why you are crazily annoyed today, don't worry, that's his first and last visit on me. I already told him that I'm not ready yet for a serious relationship. And one thing more, although he is handsome and I'm not that pretty enough, he's not my type. "

He smiled hugely at me when he heard what I said.

" Good... very good! " he said.

" You! You really have a lot of issues. That's because you don't want to have a lovelife, you want the same for me too. Well, anyway I'm not ready for that yet. But what if, when the right time comes and I fall in love, will you stop me? " I asked him.

" No! " he hurriedly answered.

" No? " I asked. I'm so confused. He is so pissed a while ago because of that guy from last night then now... I don't understand.

" Not at all ..... if I'm the one you fall inlove with and I'll be your first boyfriend." he whispered and looked straight into my eyes. My eyes grew widely. I was stunned for a moment and my heart beats so fast.

No way! my heart suddenly pounded. Why did I feel it again? Do I have a heart disease ?

" W-what did y-you say Gelo? " goodness! Why am I stuttering? Is he making a fuss on me?

He didn't answer my question. He just kept looking at me intently.

PAK! I hit his arm hardly.

" Ouch baby! Why did you hit me? It hurts!" he complained as he massage his arm.

"You look like an idiot there. What are you talking about?" I asked annoyingly.

He just smiled at me and hugged me from behind. He pressed his head on my shoulder.

My goodness! Why do I feel like I'm about to faint? Why he is so sweet and clingy today?

" Promise me baby that you will not fall in love or atleast try to have a boyfriend this early. If that happens, you couldn't give me your time anymore. You know that you're the only person I'm comfortable with aside from Shane."

" Oh Gelo! I'm going crazy because of your craziness. Yes, I promise, I will never fall in love and have a boyfriend. I will accompany you in your single blessedness. " I laughed out loud.

" Very good! Now come on baby you cook me a snack, I'm hungry. " he said with a puppy eyes smile. Oh my! he's so cute.

" Let's go! That's the reason why you don't want to lose me next to you because you will definitely get hungry. You're so mean Gelo. What do you think of me, a human casserole? "

" Hahaha. you're exaggerating! Not really. You are really good in cooking. And I really like what you cooked. " he said and walk with me out of my room to go down to the kitchen.

Oh my! This guy is really annoying.
