Chapter 1: The Imperial Academy

The Japanese School for Elites. Unquestionably one of the most successful schools globally. The school has produced countless successful people who have gone on to build companies to restore the world with innovation. The school sounds like heaven as it provides not only an extraordinary education but also provide lifetime memories and skills that would be needed in the future such as negotiation and logical decision making and analytical skills. This school provides any student who attends anything they could dream of but getting into the school is the hard part. The entrance exams are so hard that not one person has gotten over 65% on the test. A failing score is anything lower than 30%.

"75%!" A student proclaimed as every other student went towards him.

They all looked at me as I stood on the stage. The stage floor was wood and when I walked on it it felt satisfactory. The sound of my shoes hitting the wooden floor almost made me smile. The headmaster handed me a certificate of gratitude as I scored the highest score in the school's history.

"We will now hear from our top student." The headmaster announced.

The headmaster had white hair with a white beard. He was about 6ft and looked around his fifties. He wore a dark brown long coat and he stood in the middle of the stage where a lectern was.

"Hello, students...ummmm... My name's Tsukamoto Tadashi and I got higher scores than any of you so study more...that's all I guess." I said as I walked off the stage and went back to my seat which was somewhere in the middle of the audience. "Now that single "speech" will affect my life here." I thought as the person with the second highest score went onto the stage.

"Students of the Imperial Academy, I am Shimoda Tomiko..."

The person who went onto the stage was a girl. A girl with dark black hair and a red ribbon in her hair. She wore a black blazer along with a black skirt and black leggings. I recognised her immediately as she was the firstborn daughter of the powerful and wealthy Shimoda family. They had a net worth of over a hundred trillion yen because of their multiple businesses in other countries which were not unsuccessful. She was born with a gold spoon in her mouth and she was taught by the best educators her parents could find. Living life in easy mode should be fun. The girl had gotten an overall of 72 on her entrance exams which were extremely rare. This gave her the title of high intelligence. The average IQ of the school should be around 120 and Tomiko here is probably on the 1%. The girl spoke in a serious tone probably because she felt expressing emotions seemed pointless and being rational and logical makes you a better leader for the company she would inherit.

The girl then walked off the stage allowing the third person to talk to the student body now.

"Hello there students of the Imperial Academy, I am Yamada Yoshio." The boy spoke, also in a serious tone.

Yamada Yoshio. A boy with unnatural genius intelligence as he scored an overall 69 in his entrance exams. The three highest this year made it to the school's history of the highest-scoring students. The fourth highest scored an overall 61 meaning only the three of us scored higher than the previous record. That person was Yoshio's father, Yamada Takeo, a man who then revolutionised Japan. He is responsible for 98% of his family's wealth and he also paid off Japan's debt of ¥1.4 quadrillion. He could pay it off about 40 times more.

After the whole introduction thing, we were categorised in our classes.

"Class 1-A." I said as I read the gold label on the door.

I pushed open the door to see students already sitting down, talking to their friends. I then chose my seat next to the window at the back so I can enjoy the view whilst the teacher explains something I already know.

"HIDE!"

I quickly ran to the corner and hid under a table which was seen to be a dark box from the outside but it was as clear as a screen from the inside.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" I muttered as I saw who was once my guardian kill one of my bodyguards. I watched as his body dropped to the floor. The lifeless face of the man who saved me stared back at me.

"I assure you Master Tadashi that I am asking to form an alliance with you."

Even under these circumstances, I was still able to suppress my aura and bloodlust and I calmed myself down so my breathing could not be heard.

"Looks like I'll have to lay low for a while." I thought as the man with golden hair and blue eyes picked up the body of the man who saved me and threw him out of the room.

I then found a trapdoor leading to a dark room. I went through the trapdoor with no hesitation. I quickly fell onto what felt like a table.

"Yo."

I looked to my left to see a boy looking at me.

"Are you trying to communicate with me?" I asked the boy

"Isn't it obvious?"

"That was sarcasm."

"Oh. Well you looked lonely." The boy said.

"I prefer solitude." I replied.

"A little bit of socialising is good for you."

"For me, it drains the energy out of my body. Before you ask my name's Tsukamoto Tadashi."

"I know. Everyone knows. You made history you know."

"I guess." I said to the boy. "I could've got higher if I tried, I just thought it felt too easy so I intentionally answered a few wrong." I thought.

"My name's Kishimoto Akito." The boy said. I recognised him as his family is wealthy. The boy had brown hair and blue eyes while I had dark black hair and red eyes.

"What'd you get?"

"I got about 50 give or take." Akito answered.

A teacher then entered the class and slammed some books on the teacher's desk. In an instant the class became quiet.

"Finally." I said to myself as I let out a sigh of relief.

I then noticed Shimoda and Yamada looking at me from the corner of their eyes. Shimoda sat on the same column as me and she sat at the front. Yamada sat in the middle of the second row next to a boy.

"Those two have some competition going on between each other." Akito whispered to me.

"I guess."

I wasn't interested in what other students were as I had my things to worry about such as what was to be of the company. I remember everything I have experienced and ever since I was born I never had the curiosity to know what kids my age liked or disliked.

After homeroom ended we were all given keycards. These keys were keys to the rooms that we will live in during our time at the school.

"Excuse me." I looked back to see who pulled my blazer only to see a girl with long brown hair and brown eyes. "Could you come behind the school after the last lesson?"

"Okay." I replied. "I don't even know where that is but it looks like I'm gonna find out." I thought to myself.

The girl then exited class and met up with her friends who were waiting outside.

"Already? Must be lucky to have good grades and great looks." Akito said but he didn't sound jealous he almost sounded as if he wanted me to go through with it.

"You'll get it soon." I replied.

I caught Tomiko looking at us from the other side of the room from the corner of my eye but she wasn't directly looking at us. She was talking with the girl she had sat next to. I watched as her attention was divided between me and her supposed best friend.

The way the class system works is, 1-A is anyone with 50 or higher. 1-B is anyone from 45-50. 1-C is 40-45 and 1-D is 30-40. Using this knowledge I can just about guess everyone's grades with just their name as I memorised everyone's names at the entrance exams.

"Let's go see our rooms then." Akito suggested.

We walked towards a building which was dedicated to the students' dormitories. As we entered it we found that we weren't the first ones. There were about three elevators. I double-tapped my wrist. A holographic screen then came into sight. The screen had everything we needed for school. A map was there, with students' names our rooms and student IDs and how much we had in our bank accounts.

The bank accounts in this school had money which meant nothing in the outside world but we're the currency for the school. This school portrayed real life. Anything in the real life was here and that included both legal and illegal activities. The money we got was based on what put test results were. I figured out that formula as did Yamada and Shimoda. The formula was the test result divided by seven the times a hundred thousand then rounded to the nearest whole number. This meant that if someone got a 100 they would get ¥1,428,571.

Why do they divide it by seven? I don't know.

The tests are incredibly hard so gaining this amount of money from one test is almost impossible anyways. The top three students get an extra ¥25,000. I looked at my bank account to see my balance.

"¥1,096,429. Not bad. Akito-san, how much do you have?" I asked as I watched Akito explore the hologram.

"¥743." Akito said as he looked as if someone had poisoned him.

"An overall score of 52." I said. "That's too low to live on, I'll give you two hundred thousand."

"Really?!" Akito said as his eyes lit up with life again.

All we had to do was shake hands and the transfer would be completed.

"Thanks! My room on the fourth floor."

"Mines on the fifth." I said as I called an elevator down to the ground floor.

As the elevator's doors opened, the elevator was already bustling with students. We waited for the elevator to empty then we entered it. Other students joined us in the elevator but they were on their phones, completely secluded from the world. The elevator soon reached the fourth floor. Now there was only me, Yamada, Shimoda and some other people. Those other people were the top three in their classes. 1-D is not stupid when compared with regular students. Class 1-D is on the level of prestigious colleges. The elevator then stopped with a ping sound. The elevator's doors then opened exposing the grand dorms that awaited us.

"B1:R1." I said as I read out the gold plaque next to the door.

The dormitory wasn't considered a room but a house. It had two floors. On the ground floor, there was a living room conjoined by a kitchen. There was also a staircase leading upstairs mounted on the right as soon as you enter the house. The living room was on the left and as you proceeded through the living room you would reach the kitchen. The best of the best appliances were in my own house.

I then inspected the upstairs. As I reached the top l could see a bedroom on the left and in front of me was a wall. I turned so I was now facing my bedroom. A bathroom was next to the bedroom. The bedroom had a king-size bed neatly made with a white and black nightstand next to it. Then something caught my eye. A 42" television was mounted on the wall directly opposite the bed. The bedroom also had a walk-in closet. There was also a balcony but this was exclusive only to the residents of this floor.

"School life doesn't seem bad now." I said to myself as I enjoyed the soft duvet off my bed. "I have around two hours and a half so I guess a nap doesn't seem bad." I said as I instantly drifted off to sleep. I then woke up with the midnight sky shining on me through the balcony window.

I looked at the clock which was displayed on the TV.

"Crap! She's probably still waiting!" I said as I jumped up from the bed and quickly brushed my teeth. I then left the house and quickly memorised the school layout. I then found out where the girl from before had been speaking about. I turned to the corner to find her still waiting. She quickly noticed my presence as her attention switched from the floor to me. Her face was sort of depressed before but now she was pleased it didn't stay long until her face then became nervous.

"Hi." She said as she greeted me but she tried to avoid looking at me directly.

"Let's see how this goes." I thought to myself.
