2 The Beginning

I was 6 when I was put into the abyss. I can never forget the first time I saw the ShiHayo. I was traumatized. I remember being thrown to the ground, picked back up, and whatever happened to me then, is way to horrifying for me to even remember. But, because I am 16 now, I have been in the abyss for a long time now, so I know what to do and what not to do. I have come really close to dying. The most important rule that you should not try to break, is the No Noise. If you make a noise that echos, you will be found. It is like hide and seek, except, it is a lot more...deathly?

I had to learn this rule, the hard way. I was put into the abyss, and I could not see. Well, the reason why you can not see when you get put or dragged to the abyss, is because of how dark it is. Now, logically you would have some sort of vision. Well no, when you are in the abyss, you can not see. You are blind. Your other senses work, but you have completely lost all vision. You see, because of this, that means, whatever is placed in the abyss can not see either. The ShiHayo is something that has no eyes, meaning as none are on its face, because it has no such thing as a face.

But it's senses are a lot more advanced that your average human. Because of this, it can find you easily. I do not know how it got here, but it has been here for centuries. I remember my grandpa telling me the story of the abyss during Halloween, but I never thought of it to be real. But I know it is now. But when I was first put into the abyss, I was attacked by the ShiHayo, after jumping down from who knows what. It seemed to have been a ledge of some sort, but either way, when I jumped down, I made a loud thump.

Before I knew, I was thrown into the air, by what felt like a strong gust of wind. I felt hands holding my arms tight. I was thrown back into the ground, and my whole body was in so much pain. I heard the loudest scream ever. I tried to get back to my feat, then, I was knocked down, and then whatever happened to me, I do not remember. But because of such a horrible experience I had, I want to protect my little brother from the ShiHayo.

When he was born, I was put out the abyss, to prepare my brother for what he would be put into. When he turned 4, we were both put right back in the abyss. But instead of having to just run for our lives like I did, we had to do courses or challenges. They were not easy ones. One of our earliest ones was having to recognize a smell, find our way towards it, and not make any noise. At the moment he is on my back, and using my arms to guide me towards it.

The thing is, his sense of surroundings are advanced, so he knew which way was near things that could cause us to make a lot of noise, and which ways were not. I had the better smelling sense though, so we had to figure out how to work together and survive. He is 6 right now. He is holding on my arms and we both are walking towards what smells familiar. I- I think it is our mother's cooking. Specifically her peach pie. If it is, this is going to be a horrible experience. The ShiHayo knew exactly what it was doing. We have to be extra careful.
