Chapter Two

*"Here comes the new fish !" The inmates chant as Sylvester passes by .Those who could reach him with their hands through their cells begin to pull his t-shirts as they mock him .

"Get inside !"The prison officer hit the cells with his stick to maintain order .*

*"This is your new cell !"Said the prison officer who pushed him into the cell where his inmates were standing as if they were waiting to devour him and tear him up into pieces .The cell was locked up behind him once he entered . "You have five strong accomplices like you in here so enjoy your stay here "The prison officer said teasingly .*

*"Hey new bee ! Loving the scenery around here ?"One tall guy asked, holding his groin to show emphasis .*

*"Is he the new fish in the soup ?" Another guy with a thick beard and fat tummy said while laying on his bed .

He stepped down ,and took a look at Sylvester ,scanning his body very well .*

*"OMG ! This guy smells like he's got some cash to spread on us .I can see that he really swims in cash….!"He said to his inmates *.

"What's your name man ?!"A slender man with bushy hair asked him .

"Sylvester Woods !"He answered humbly to avoid getting into any kind of argument with them .

"What were you charged with and how many years will you spend here ?!"The slender man asked .

"Charged with murder and serving all my life in this state prison without the possibility of a parole !"

"Who did you murder this around ?!" Another guy with bushy hair and beard asked as if he were an ex-convict.

"An attorney!"He said simply and decided to make his way to his bed .He wasn't ready to give any explanations for his crime .

"Hey woods ! Where do you think you are going?!"One guy who was on top of his bed stepped down .He was very tall and muscular . He stood in front of Woods like a giant .

"When we say go ,that's when you will go !

If you want to survive behind these cells then you must learn to be humble .

You sold your freedom the day you committed murder so you should learn that we run this place !

We are the bosses around here …!"He shouted in Woods' ears as the other colleagues began to laugh at him .

"Look at his face ….!"One short guy who had scars all over his body said ."He's as scared as a rat..haha!"He said mockingly as his friends burst out into laughter ."He's got a fresh skin and soft body .This means that he hasn't tasted what hard labour really is .

He looks like a rich dude ,man …!"Said the man with a slender body .

"But look at us ,we've got scars all over our body so he is trying to indicate that we are the ones who look like criminals '' he teasingly mocked .

"If you want to survive in this cell then you must be like one of us '' the fat tummy man said .

"I'm not like you and don't expect me to be one! "Woods said with confidence .

"Look at the pot calling the kettle black ! We are all murderers who have been locked up in this shit hole!

So don't behave as if you are the damn saint among us !

Teach him a lesson …!"The short guy said, instructing the rest of his inmates to beat him up bitterly .He really seemed like the boss around there .

"Let's go ,let's go! '' Woods shouted on top of his voice but he was not heard .

He couldn't defend himself as he was tossed around like a dice by the giant standing muscular man .

*His inmates beat him up till he bled and fainted .He was left to lie helplessly on the floor covered up in a pool of blood .

Other inmates in the other cells screamed for help to call for the prison officers once his condition got worse .

The prison officers arrived and ordered for a stretcher so that he could be carried to the sick bay .

His inmates were kept in solitary confinement and they didn't seem to care because they were used to being there .*

"His case has gotten worse and we don't have the adequate resources to treat him so i suggest they need to transfer him to a hospital to be taken care off !"A doctor said to the prison officer who admitted him in the sick bay

"Start the necessary procedures and get everything ready for his transfer !"The prison officer said .

Woods was transferred to a hospital where the prison officers watched him day and night to prevent him from escaping * .

* AFTER A FEW DAYS OF WOODS ADMISSION TO THE HOSPITAL *

"Hey man !How are you doing ?!"

" I'm doing great !"Woods replied .

"I thought you were never going to wake up again when I saw your condition !"

"Thanks Jorge ,you are really a great friend !"

"Woods ,you and I have been friends since childhood and I won't forget how you helped me in those difficult times . I know you committed a crime and I won't judge you for that but as a prison officer ,I can't always be there to protect you so please take care of yourself .I will see to it that your cell gets changed so that you don't get into contact with those morons ever again !"

"Thanks Jorge ,your support means a lot to me but have you heard anything about Rose ?!"

"I tried to talk to her but she isn't paying any heed and you know you can't blame her for that !"

"Thanks man ,I sincerely hope that one day she will forgive me !"

"Alright dude ,get dressed up because you need to return to the prison today .The doctor has signed your discharge papers !"Jorge said, patting his shoulders .
