5 THE SURPRISE REVEAL

17th Jan, 2017; 11.25 A.M.

Vijay is confused; he can't believe what Dhruv confessed, for him it felt like the sky has fallen on him. But even so he doesn't completely believe him but he does want to know where he got the information about the third kid being killed by cyanide poisoning from. He pulls Dhruv by his arm and takes him to the interrogation room. To Dhruv's surprise it does look a little like what he had seen in movies.

Dhruv : Is this an interrogation room? If yes then I would like to address it does look a little like what I saw in movies and all. It's disappointing that it isn't that accurate, in fact it's quite bright. And a few more things, I mean I expected this center table to be old and rusty and well, it's obviously not, and why is there another table on that corner? And why have you kept those sticks there? And I wanted a clay pot for water but you guys have kept an actual water cooler! What the Fuck dude! I am 30% satisfied, but I am 70% disappointed! You should make this place a little..

Patil (cutting him) : SHUT THE FUCK UP! We are not here for your review about our Police station! Stick your ass up that chair and just fucking sit! I have questions!

Dhruv : You seem pretty furious! Yeah right! Whatever is it, bring it on!

Patil : Tell me, how do you know about cyanide poisoning?

Dhruv : What are you talking about? What cyanide poisoning?

Patil : About a few minutes ago, you told me that you are the serial killer behind the school boys' killings?

Dhruv : VOOH OHH! Hold it right there! I never said any such thing! Stop accusing and putting things in my mouth, I don't even know what the fuck you are talking about!

Patil : What?!! Is this some kind of play you are playing because I don't understand this behavior of yours!

Dhruv (looking at the camera on the top corner of the room) : And I don't understand a single word you are speaking!

It didn't take long for Vijay to understand that Dhruv wasn't accepting anything because of the camera in the room. He stood up and went outside the room, as he was going Dhruv said,

Dhruv : Hey where are you going? You can't leave me here like this!

Patil : Yes I can! And don't worry I'll be back soon.

Dhruv : You better!

Vijay goes to the control panel to switch off the camera, as he switches off the camera Dhruv can see the red light on camera vanishing. When Vijay rushes back to the interrogation room, the first thing he sees is Dhruv's smiling face,

Vijay : NOW TELL ME!!

Dhruv : You are far more intelligent than you seem Patil Saheb. You caught my hint quite well.

Vijay(angrily) : YEAH RIGHT! YOU'RE FUCKING HINT! NOW SPEAK THE FUCK UP!

Dhruv : At least ask a question! How am I supposed to answer the question that hasn't even been asked yet!

Patil (exhales): Okay let's try this once again. How do you know about the cyanide poisoning?

Dhruv(smiling constantly) : I know about it because I am the one who killed him!

Patil : Why do you keep saying that, I know it's not you! Just tell me the truth!

Dhruv : I AM TELLING THE TRUTH!

Patil : Are you covering for someone, if yes then you don't need to! You don't need to fear that person.

Dhruv : I am not covering for anyone! It is me! It's just that you can't even think of me doing it!

Patil : Maybe you are right! Maybe it's my heart that's not letting me believe you! But how am I supposed to believe that a 17-year-old kid killed 3 of his classmates with such expertise.

Dhruv : First of all, stop calling me kid, as you said I am 17, I am as mature as any 18 year old "ADULT" And it shouldn't come as a surprise, as there are tons of cases where a minor has done some really atrocious crimes. And yeah, with the same type of expertise!

Patil : Half of them turn out to be mentally ill! So are you, MENTALLY ILL?

Dhruv : I don't know! Maybe I am or maybe I am not. How would I even know (Chuckles) According to my guess right now, I am not ill, I think I am just cold-blooded I mean, I never received any cheap thrills by killing them, instead I got satisfaction that I had taken my revenge. I mean that feeling of..

Patil (cutting him) : Wait right there!.. Revenge? You said revenge! What revenge are you talking about?

Dhruv : What revenge? I said revenge? (Start's laughing) ha ha ha, you got me there, yeah right revenge! I did it all for revenge.

Patil : What did those boys do to you that you wanted revenge?

Dhruv : I am extremely sorry for this Patil sir, but this story,.. is not for you. It's a story that is to be said to the investigating officer of this case and by the look of it, it's clear, you definitely are not the one

Patil : How can you conclude that?

Dhruv : Well there are things that tell it, like you purposely spilling out the fact that you were at my home for the investigation of "serial killings", which was in fact a really bad try at getting a reaction from me.

Patil : How did you even notice that?!

Dhruv : It was really easy! It was a case that had no media coverage, in fact no one apart from the parents of the kids knew it was murders not suicides. It's a really high-profile case as there has been 3 murders already, and with all this pressure on your head to keep it secret, why would a police officer be so stupid at the first place to say it out so unknowingly until he wants something from the person.

Patil : I don't know if you are the killer we are searching for but I am damn sure that your deductive skills are excellent!

Dhruv : Thank you!

Patil : Well is that it? That is enough for you to conclude I am not the investigating officer?

Dhruv : No no no, there is more to it! You referred to station S.H.O. waiting for me, and he wouldn't have been waiting for me if he wasn't the person investigating. And why would you bring me to station instead of interrogating at my home itself until I am being suspected or you are not the right person to interrogate. And it is clear from everyone's reaction outside that I clearly wasn't a suspect.

Patil(sarcastically) : Yeah, that's right! What else do your stupid deductive skills tell you, huh?

Dhruv : Ahh that's stupid now! A minute ago, it was excellent. Anyway, answering your question, it also tells me that if I wasn't a suspect then I was brought here as a possible witness to this shit, and it also tells me that I am a witness because there's someone claiming to have me seen at any of the places of crime

Patil : Wait wait wait! How can you say that!

Dhruv : Let's be honest, you guys don't have a single piece of evidence that points towards me, then what else even stands a chance other than another eyewitness!

Patil : OK, you win I lose; everything you said is right. Word to word. Now what's it you want?

Dhruv : Bring me S.H.O. Shivkumar Rathod, I would like to talk to him.

Patil : First I want to hear it! And then and only then you will see Rathod!

Vijay is stuck with the idea of him being the first person to know the complete truth and because of that even after Dhruv's constant denial to confess he keeps trying to get him talking, he is getting mad slowly.

Meanwhile outside the interrogation room;

The shock that Dhruv gave was still very fresh in the minds of these 4 constables, they still were trying to figure out what exactly this shit was. It wasn't making any sense to them, that how did he knew about cyanide and what if he is the killer, even if he is why would he confess it like this, it was a surprise reveal that they never wanted,

Subhash : What the fuck is all this shit? I am not able to understand why he would confess?

Rajesh : Maybe he was scared?

Bhosle : NO..HE WASN'T!

Keshav : What!

Bhosle : I could see it in his eyes! He wasn't afraid of anything in fact he enjoyed telling us that it was him.

Subhash : Maybe he is lying.

Keshav : That's possible!

Rajesh : Then how in the fuck did he know about that cyanide thing, I myself gained that knowledge 2 days before when Rathod Sir gave us our briefing.

Subhash : It's possible that he isn't the killer, but he is connected to him in some way.

While all these people were discussing the incident, a man entered the station. They were so caught up with the topic that they completely missed him, he went just right past them but he caught nothing else than breeze. He stepped back and said,

Man : What's so important everyone, that you completely ignored me?

Subhash : Oh shit! Rathod Sir! (salutes) Jai Hind sir!

Rathod : Jai Hind!

Other constables also followed Subhash and saluted Shivkumar.

Rathod : So what's it that you are discussing?

Rajesh : Sir the boy has arrived!

Rathod : So what's so much to discuss?

Bhosle : He has brought some news with him!

Rathod : What?
