An unintended side-effect of a chemical weapon causes the 71 survivors to develop superhuman abilities: they are known as The Inflicted. On the anniversary of Catalyst Day, four of these Inflicted are imprisoned by Foresight, the government organisation tasked with their capture and must evade the deadly Nathaniel Blaise, the famed Inflicted hunter. With the whole world working against them, they must band together for a chance at living a normal life.
