18 Magical Lineage

"... where should I start. You've probably heard stories and legends about magic users and magical creatures. Making you not really human… which might be hard to believe but that is true. You would be classed as an inhuman magic user I don't think I have to point out the features that prove it to be true." Dante (Nadia's dad) sighed, Nadia reached up and touched her ears that are slightly pointed.

"You have the blood of a number of powerful magic users in your veins from both mine and Morgana's side. A sorcerer and summoner named Elric, a powerful wizard called Harry you might have heard of, Prospero the magician, and even demon blood from my family. On Morgana's side there is the great wizard Merlin and Morgana Le Fay from Arthurian legends, a dragon-blooded magician and a dragon reborn, that's the kind of blood that runs through her family. That's only naming a few notable magic users from both families.

"The Luna family and Le Fay family have been magic users for thousands of years ensuring the protection of the people from threats like the Niukyu. The Luna family is considered to be one of the most powerful human magic users, and you are well aware of the power the family has in the world."

'Of course, I do my family is the most powerful in many cities… even in one country they can't go against him.' Nadia sighed shaking her head slightly.

"The Le Fay family is the most powerful inhuman magic-user family. Your mother was the head of the family and was even on the council of magic… the people that sent you to the other world you mentioned. Your mother and I, we honestly meet by chance… it's rare when such powerful people would run into each other. Morgana was something else."

"Father please don't get off topic too much."

"Right… well both you and Faroe are capable of magic… however, I'm not sure what your main element is. We can't check it here either it too dangerous."

"I can't say for sure since I don't know how to check but I've already used magic a few times in the other world."

"So you've had an awakening."

"Maybe it's probably due to almost dying."

Dante let out a slight huff. "I wish I could teach you more about magic but in the dark lands we can't just use magic at random."

"Reason?"

"Shadow's can trace mana. They are also capable of sensing when magic is being cast."

"We don't want to be caught I assume."

"Correct fighting them off is a very difficult task. Though it is one way to escape this place but it is extremely difficult especially since they are highly resistant to most magic."

"I see alright then tell me the in and outs for this world."

Dante nodded looking at his daughter who was looking a lot like Morgana, someone not afraid listening to each word a person worthy to be called powerful, someone that could lead others. That how he felt looking at his daughter at that moment. It caused him to laugh slightly shaking his head a little.

"This land is a copy of our world that the Niukyu made for us. They've filled it with being called Hunter's, and Shade's, beings capable of mimicking people in the full sense, the world is such a perfect copy you would believe it's our world except for one major flaw reflections. When in front of something reflective like a mirror instead of a reflection of the person they are the reflection is of their true form.

"However you don't have to worry about Shade's or hunter's finding out you are not one of them because of a reflection as it appears they are unable to see a reflection at all… honestly most mages question if they are even capable of seeing like we do. Anyways, they use this place as a trap for magic users and inhuman's to get them to slip up reveal secrets as well as to kill them here."

"Why here? Aside from shattering the soul and mind, there must be another reason for it."

"Your right, one magic is weaker in the dark lands making magic users at an extreme disadvantage. Two it is very difficult to escape from this place in a days time here. Granting them a greater window of opportunity to kill or use us since there are no simple means of escape."

"There are 3 ways of escaping. The most difficult and dangerous method is to kill a hunter creating instability which would be an opening to escape, but as mentioned before magic is weakened here and is not very effective against them so it's more of a death sentence. Second solving the gate puzzle, they can vary in difficulty and failure means death. The third and final way is waiting a set amount of time, the shortest is a week while the longest was 3 months so far, in this lands time. It is easier than the others but not simple as there are many chances and opportunities that you could get caught.

"You must blend in as if nothing is wrong, like it's a normal day the more oddities the more likely you will be caught. It's an easy yet hard thing to do at the same time."

"So blending in and avoiding using magic is the best option."

"Correct."

"Dad I have to ask. If the dark lands is so dangerous why did you come here? Even if time and space is distorted here. It's fairly easy to lose your life with one misstep."

"You are right about that… but honestly there are a few reasons. One is that we've found this land has more uses than problems so it is agreed to be used at ones own discretion. The other reason… I wanted to see you… even if you were a shade or hunter. I wanted to talk with you."

"You really shouldn't do that."

"I know. I just couldn't stand it."

"How stupid. Don't tell me Faroe does this as well."

"…"

"Sigh both of you are magical idiots. Damn it."

Nadia sighed shaking her head just thinking what the two of them have done at this point. "I may be annoyed with you father but it doesn't mean I wish for your early death. Please reduce the number of times that the two of you come here please. I'd rather not return to find that one or both of you have died from performing such idiotic folly just to see 'me'." She growled a hand on her face slightly glaring at her father. "I have a few more questions though before I ask you to send me to my 'home' and get back to your world as soon as possible."

"Alright I'll answer them as best as I can but we don't have much time before they get suspicious."

"Alright. First, how is it posable I'm in the dark lands that is the copy of our world and not the world I'm currently residing in?"

"Your soul, it's originally from our world so it will be sent to a copy of our world in hopes of confusion."

"What would happen to a soul of a person that reincarnates then?"

"I believe I've heard it's a mess of both worlds their soul has existed in."

Nadia crossed her arms, "okay, well based on our conversation alternate worlds are a well-known fact to those of the magic side of the world. Do you have some sort of contact or something?"

"Well, only high-level magic users are allowed to mess around with different dimension and normally it's just the council. Contacting other worlds is not allowed. But there are junctions that can be used like this to talk to people of other worlds."

"I'll assume due to the odd state the world I'm currently in using a junction is not possible. From what I got from what the council told me about this world I'm in things are very unstable at this point in time."

"So the only chance of contact for now is in the dark land then. This is not normally how we use the dark lands but it is fairly useful then."

"That doesn't mean you should keep coming here waiting to talk to me. I'm serious don't come here anymore just to see me tell Faroe that as well. I will curse you if you don't listen… and I'm sure mother would agree with me on this."

"Fine… but I'm going to do something so you can call for our help if you need it. We'll come running."

"I understand. But don't cast it yet. How long till you can leave."

"Not much longer."
