3 Chapter III - The Blair Witch

It was an abnormal season in the central region, not only was it cold in the South, the surroundings of Central City were minus zero degrees, the fact that it was night also collaborated. All the creatures were already in their daily night cycle. After what had happened in the forest, Max and Sophie now on the correct path had not yet reached the city, the two of them were facing a heavy snowstorm, it was not possible to see more than half a meter ahead thanks to the density of the snowstorm.

- We will freeze if it continues like this. - said Max walking with his head down and his arm stuck to his forehead in order to cover his eyes.

Sophie was the one who suffered the most from the cold, as she didn't wear any coat to protect herself; when Max realized her difficulty, he took off his coat and covered Sophie with it, saying:

- Here I don't need it, and you're freezing to death.

At first the girl refuses, but after so much insistence, she opts to accept, so they decide to keep walking together to at least maintain their natural body heat.

After a few steps, Sophie feels Max's body weaken, he was losing strength, his vision was blurred and now he could barely walk.

- Hey Max, no, no... - Sophie tried to keep the boy awake while holding him.

But her attempts were futile, as he ended up collapsing in the snow.

"A celestial being walks through a field of white lilies, everything seemed serene, the day was clearer than ever, it was as if the sun itself was smiling, the creature stops in the middle of the field, its appearance was similar to the one Sophie and Max had seen in the forest, but now its skin was not grayish and it did not have the various cracks on its body. It was possible to hear the sound of trumpets, it seemed to praise someone, the possible angel spread its six wings, showing all its resplendor, in the middle of the lily field emerged Sophie, she was dressed in a long white dress and walked towards the celestial being, but she was not normal, her eyes were different, they had a red tone, it was as if someone had tainted the purest water with a drop of blood. Everything was harmonious and enchanting, but there was something wrong, suddenly everything changed, the sky went from a clear blue to a scarlet red, the trumpets that were heard gave way to violins with violent sounds, the sun became black, the beautiful field of white lilies turned crimson, Everything was orchestrated by a maestro, the creature in the middle of the field also changes, its skin returns to the gray tone of before, it was like an ancient Greco-Roman statue, its six wings of golden plumage like gold become black, gradually the feathers give way to the bones of the exposed structure. Sophie, who had been walking towards the creature, was now floating towards it, until she was face to face, her expression was unusual, she possessed a smile on her face so malicious, to add with her eyes laden with wickedness..."

Max wakes up scared and in a cold sweat, he was lying near a fireplace in what appears to be a cabin, he didn't quite understand the situation, where was he? And what had happened? "Was I dreaming?" he asked himself as he went into various thoughts, he began to dialogue with himself in his mind, when he was interrupted.

- Finally you are awake!

The voice was female and came from behind Max, but did not sound like Sophie. When the boy turns around it was only a black cat, he gets confused and keeps looking around.

- Right here.

This time he was sure that the voice came from the cat, at the same moment he was startled by the shock of seeing a talking cat, no matter how strange Yekun's animals were, none of them could talk, at least Max had never seen one in his life. Suddenly a puff of smoke arises from the cat, which turns into a girl.

- Why does everyone always fall for the talking cat? - the girl said with a good laugh.

The girl appeared to be the same age as Max and Sophie, but was dressed in a black cloak with a hood, her hair was short and in a honey-brown tone, her large green eyes drew attention straight to her face, which had a friendly smile and rosy cheeks.

Max still not understanding anything just stared at the girl, expressing confusion.

- Oh, stop looking at me like that, you're in my house! - exclaims the girl.

- Excuse me, my name is Max - says dryly.

- Hello Max, my name is Blair, now we shake hands, this is how human beings interact. - He says slowly in order to play with the boy.

Max sees Blair's hand extended to him, so he extends it back to shake hands, but at the same moment she withdraws her hand.

- Too bad I'm a witch. - The girl puts her blanket-covered hand over her mouth, hiding her laughter.

Blair walks away normally while Max was in a state of shock.

- W-Witch? - I was more than surprised.

- While you were sleeping I looked through your things, I read some of your notes on witches and got bored and stopped, but they were right, well almost all of them. - Blair suddenly disappeared. - So Max, you and your little friend got lucky.

Blair appeared behind Max upside down, holding on by his feet to a broomstick that was floating, again scaring Max.

- Don't you ever get tired of that?

- NEVER. - Blair shouts, clearly enjoying the situation.

- Wait, you said friend, Sophie, where is she? - Max was already expressing concern.

- She's fine, she's with my mom.

- Your... - Max's speech is interrupted by a scream from an apparent woman.

- BLAIR LA VOISIN DESHAYES!

- Oh no. - Blair says flustered.

Blair was transforming into a cat again, when the door to the room they were in was opened by a woman, she also wore a black cloak, but it was longer than Blair's, she had long straight red hair, her eyes were as black as the night that currently expressed anger.

- It's no use getting cat-like, WE DON'T HAVE CATS.

- Oh I told you we could have it, all the cool witches do! - Blair said as she changed into her normal form.

- Why did you tell her your friend was dead? - The woman pointed to the door she had entered, and standing there was Sophie, who nodded lost. - You're no good.

In the middle of her scolding, the woman realized that Max had already woken up and was watching them.

- Ah... Nice to meet you, I'm Catherine... You're lucky Blair found you in the snow.

Sophie walked from the door towards Max, she was wrapped in a blanket and holding the coat Max had given her earlier. She came a little closer and threw the coat with all her might at Max.

- WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU? I WANTED TO PLAY THE GENTLEMAN, BUT YOU'RE AS FRAGILE AS A FEATHER, YOU IDIOT! - The girl screamed a lot in a mixture of rage and concern, she still continued in an incessant speech of sermonizing and cursing while the two witches watched in confusion.
