9 An Outsider

Weeks past and they started to have secrets among this group of friends, they all know what is happening right now except this one person --- Lisa. As an outsider, she has no clue of what's going on and why are her friends acting weird in all of a sudden. They chose to not tell her because the owner of this secret told them not to. Until this one day, someone let it slip of the tongue.

[Jisoo's POV]

Aish, why is this guy keep approaching us. It's been weeks since this guy named Kai kept on approaching us every single day. Whether it's lunch or just even short break times between classes. He always came to us, but more, to Jennie. It all starts with that bump incident on hallway.

*FLASHBACK*

Me and Jennie were on the hallway, heading back to class after we grabbed the stuffs we needed for our next class from locker when someone accidentally bumped in to us hard causing me and Jennie going to fell. But luckily I grabbed on something beside the wall making me not fall to the ground. I quickly turn around to check if Jenduke's okay, and turns out she's totally fine. The guy caught her by holding her waist in one arm and another on the wall supporting them, and Jennie's hands on his shoulders. "What the heck" I mumbled. They stayed in this position for about 2 minutes looking into each others eyes like they are filming Romeo and Juliet or Titanic or any romance scenes or whatever this is.

"Uhem Excuse me, mind letting go of her now Mr? And you too Jenduke?" I fake coughed and said, made them turn to me startled then quickly stood properly, clearing their throats and scratching their heads not looking at each other.

"Erm sorry for bumping into you guys, are you guys ok?" He said apologetically.

"It's ok and we are fine sir, thank you for the concern."

"Oh it's Kai." He said reached out his hand for handshake.

"Jisoo." I smiled and accept his hand.

"And you Miss?" He turn to Jennie. But she's daydreaming.

"Sorry Kai, she's always like this, let me bring her back." I said and turned to take a step near to Jennie. "YOW JENDUKE BACK TO EARTH." I said in a loud voice making Jennie jump scared and glared at me.

"The actual fu-" She stopped when she realized Kai is still here reaching his hand out to her.

"You know my arm is kinda sore now" he chuckled.

"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I was just thinking about something earlier, what was your name again?" Jennie said reach out shaking his hand.

"Kai, how bout you."

"Wooo Kai, you have the same name as my dog, oops no offense. By the way it's Jennie." She replied, smiled still holding his hand.

Here we go again, is this a staring contest or what, and what's with this hands, they got glue on it or what!

"Guys? Your hands?" I smirked and pointed at their hands. They quickly let go and chuckled awkwardly at me. "We'll see you next time Kai, we'll take the leave first."

"Oh yea sure, he waved at us and winked to Jennie as we walked away. "Pfft such a flirt." I mumbled.

"Huh? What?" She asked I just shamed my head as nothing. "Don't you think he seems cute?" She then said, I chocked my saliva hearing what she just said.

"Oh my god, don't tell me you like him already." I widened my eyes in shock.

"Not sure yet, but I have a good feeling for him. Let's go now, class is starting." She cling on my arm and started dragging me, I just let her. I still can't believe what just happened, is this really a scene in Titanic or what? Is school preparing for a play? Is that why they are like this? Or she really has feeling for this guy, I'm so messed up right now.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

So yeah... that's basically what happened. And turns out Kai is a senior at our campus and he started liking Jennie after that, so he asked Jennie if he can court her, and Jennie as Jennie who's being dreamy everyday said yes. Everything just happened that fast in a blink and then KABUSH! She announced that they are in a relationship since last week, which made us all quite shock, plus she asked us to not tell Lisa about it. We don't know why but we agreed to keep it as a secret.

Anyways, it's just a normal day as usual. We are now at the field just finished P.E. prepare heading for lunch when Kai came again asking Jennie's whereabouts.

"Hey Jisoo! Where's Jen?"

"She went to change, oh she's back now." I said pointed the way where Jennie's at.

"Saw it, thanks!" He said then ran over to Jennie calling her Babe loudly, kissing her cheeks and hug her, Jennie chuckled and hugged back. "Gosh why am I seeing this, my poor eyes." I said rubbing my eyes trying to forget what I just saw when Lisa suddenly showed up of no where and scared the hell out of me.

"Who is that guy?" Lisa asked.

"HOLY CHICKEN! Where did you came from, are you a ninja?" I hold my chest and asked her, but she just rolled her eyes at me.

"From your ass chicken, now who's that guy? Why is he calling Jennie babe?"

"Babe? Pffft, somethings wrong with your hearing, he said BAPE, the brand ya know?" I explained, acting cool to make sure she won't feel suspicious.

"Really? Then why is he hugging and kissing her cheeks, and for the third time I ask you, who is he!" She asked again running out of patience.

"Woah chill monkey, he's um.. cousin, Jennie's another cousin ok? He's a senior here, so you probably never met him, that's why." I started to sweat cause if she kept on asking I would run out of excuses. Dang Jenduke! Why do you have to keep it from her.

"Hmm.. Kay, let's go, I'm hugry, what's the menu today?" She asked, I felt relieved that she stopped that topic, gosh this is too much.

"Don't know yet, we'll see." I said and left first, prevent that she would start the topic with me again.

[Lisa's POV]

I sat down at the table beside Nabong cause Jennie texted me that she'll eat at the principle office cause her Dad is here. These days Jennie asked me to not riding her home cause her driver would sent her home, it's her dad's order as what she said. We rarely meet these days in school, except class times. After class she just rush out going somewhere and came back when the bell rings. And these people acting weird all of a sudden making me think that they're keeping something from me, but I just shrugged it off since I know they'll tell me already if it's something that I had to know.

"Hey bro, you coming to the party this weekend." V asked.

"I'll think about it, who's going?"

"Just us." Irene said.

"Oh and maybe Jennie's other cousin." Jisoo said and I nodded then suddenly dropped my fork accidentally.

"Cousin? What cousin?" V furrowed his brows, asked confusedly.

"You know..hhh.. Kai.." Jisoo said nervously and gritted her teeth. What's with that, I confused at her sudden reaction and stood up going to grab a new fork when I heard what he said next made me stop at where I am, dumbfounded, feeling like an outsider.

"Kai? Isn't that her boyfriend?" V said out loud, then cover his mouth after realized what he just did. Everyone sighed and facepalm then look at him blankly. I slowly turned around looking at every and each of them in the eyes one by one. But they are trying to avoid my gaze, when I spoke they all looked down.

"Boyfriend huh?" I scoff and looked at them unbelievably. "Really? I'm the only one who doesn't know about this? Am I an outsider now?" I asked them, no one dares to look at me this time. I left out a sigh, "Guys... stop looking down I'm not down there." I said and they finally look up but still avoiding my eyes. "Why though?"

"We don't know also, Jennie told us not to." Nayeon said.

"Sorry Lis for keeping it from you, we were just helping Jennie to keep it." Irene look at me and said.

"When?" I asked again.

"Since last week, Kai courted her from the second week of school." Jisoo said.

"He's a senior here, I heard lots of girls admire him before because of his dance skills." V said made me scoff silently.

"I bet he can't compete with me, I'm the best." I mumbled but Jisoo heard it.

"Oh come on Lis, don't be jealous, you should be happy your mandu found a great man." She said made me look at her blankly.

"I'm not jealous. And you guys!" I glared and pointed at them made them gulp. "Don't you dare keep secrets from me again, it feels bad to be an outsider." I whined and pouted made them chuckled.

"We are sorry Lis, we won't, but we can't promise, you know that kitten is scarier." They said acting afraid.

"But still, tell me, I'll keep it from her." I winked at them. "Guys I'll go first, gotta go find that kitten."

"Don't tell her we told you!" V shouted.

"What do you mean we, it's you, you big mouth!" Irene said and smack his head.

I just laughed and wave at them, shaking my head while walk towards the entrance.

Lisa is now walking on the field, deep in her thoughts, thinking about earlier, feeling upset. "So maybe you really are straight then." She said then left out a sigh. Lisa thinks that maybe she should just hide her feelings for her. Yes, she has figured out her feelings now. She loves Jennie, deeply, since their first met. Those eyes, those cheeks, those smiles, especially the one and only gummy smile. Lisa is deeply in love with her, but she's afraid, that she might ruined the friendship. But what scares her more, are the nightmares, she's afraid that it might come true. It's not what might happens to her scares her, it's the things that might happen to Jennie when they found out. Lisa is always concern about it, but she knows she would protect Jennie at all costs.

She then spotted Jennie and Kai happily, laughing around, holding hands, and Jennie showing her gummy smiles to him. "Why does it feel so hurt, yet I'm happy for her" Lisa smile sadly, hold her chest, a tear escape without her knowing. "Maybe it's time for me to move on, there's no chance for me..." Another tear dropped as I watching them at a far distance, playing around with laughter, Kai carrying her up, swinging her in the air. Seeing that scene reminds me the day I saved her, carrying her in bridal style, her look while she's a sleep, a cute mandu. Tears coming out continuously as I kept remembering those scenes. I stopped all my thoughts, wiped my tears and took a deep breath. "Come on Lisa, be strong, act like nothing happened." I said to myself and walk towards them with heavy steps.

"Hey Jen..." I said made her startled.

She slowly turn over and widened her eyes. My gaze went down to their hands that are still holding, she followed my gaze and smiled nervously as she let go of his hand. "Umm.. Lisa..." She gulped.

I just smiled, try to act fine and look at them. I told myself to be strong and kept holding back my tears. But the questions kept on running in my mind, Why don't you tell me Jen... why am I considered as an outsider from this? I'm actually really happy for you Nini, you found someone that could take care of you, without bringing you danger.. like I will. But It hurts after knowing this, and to be the last to know it... It hurts.. it really hurts...
