16 Chapter 15

Yooo there's some can food here as well, sweet!

I went up to the second level to help Yui after clearing level 1. There was nothing else to take note of.

The second level was all apartment rooms. It seemed that this building was mostly likely a shared rented space judging by the amount of beds there are in this house.

Blankets, Blankets, Blankets.

There was nothing left that can be properly used.

I took out the utility knife and slowly cut them out to long strips of cloth, these could be a substitute to bandages.

I prepared another 10 strips, and headed down towards level 1. I spotted a zombie not too far away from the front door. It seemed to be alone so I was confident to confront it. I walked up to it and quickly slit its throat, its head was barely sticking onto its neck by its flesh.

I dragged the body into the house and went to the kitchen to get a container.

I poured its blood into the container. This blood can be used to mask our scent in the future, it could come in handy in the future. I headed up to the second level where Yui was

"Shiki look what I found!"

???!!

I entered the apartment room where she was.

A rodent of some sort. A squirrel?

Yui was standing beside the wardrobe of the room, grabbing the squirrel by its tail, making it flail about as it kicked its legs to break free.

She had a smug look on her face, "Shiki, do you want rabies?" :D

As if I responded yes, she chased after me with the squirrel in hand.

"What the hell! Get it away from me!", she chased me down the stairs and flung the creature at me. Poor thing, being flung around like that.

But then, the squirrel opened its arms and flew back towards Yui, landing right on top of her face.

"Ewww, what is this smell!"

*A yellow liquid begins to drip down her mouth*

"HAHAHHAHAHAH, IT PISSED ON YOU. HAHAHAHAH INSTANT KARMA!" I couldn't contain myself, I sprawled out onto the floor dying of laughter.

Slowly, Yui begins to slowly remove the squirrel off the top of her nose. Then used her left hand to touch and smell the liquid.

'WHAT THE *censored :D*!!!!" She freaks out and tosses the squirrel out of the open window.

She rushed over to the kitchen area and washed her face. Except, the water tap didn't work.

As if she was typing on a keyboard, she screamed in an unintelligible flurry of words

"waTdufjaFukNisdjaARGHhh"

Then she put her hands on the ground in defeat.

Welp, I grabbed the bottle of blood and splashed it onto her face. About 1/4 of it was used.

"It's better than piss." I said

Yui looked like she went through the five stages of grief in the short time we spent in the house.

"WAIT! The zombies should have heard us! We need to prepare for them!", I grab her hand and dragged her to just beside the entrance of the house.

But 5 minutes later, nothing came.

I peeked through the open entrance and noticed that the zombies that were just outside before we entered had all been decapitated. Someone had killed all the zombies around the area without us realising in such a short span of time.

In fact, there was a decapitated body just in front of the entrance. The head was cut off way too cleanly, as though the person had slit through the zombies neck in an instant and the neck-bone didn't even shatter/snap in the process. It was more like the bone was cut through like cheese.

"Yui, take a look at this.", I waved at her to come over.

She sat depressed, staring into nothingness.

I took the head by hand and placed it right in front of her face, "Look. At. This."

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!"

and then she snapped back into reality
