An Unexpected Outcome

After walking down the stairs, Tatsuya asks the lady at the reception-

"Umm... do we have to pay for the cafeteria or is it already paid?"

"Yes. You have to pay separately for your meals and for your room."

They walk up to an empty table and both of them take a seat. Kei holds the fork and spoon in both her hands and says-

"When will it arrive...? I'm hungry."

"We just arrived here... take it easy Kei. Ill order whatever you want on the menu."

"Really!? Then can we get this one?" says Kei pointing at the menu.

"Yeah sure, why not? Excuse me... "

A strong looking man who looked in his fifties came to their table with one plate in each hand consisting of ale and food and asked Tatsuya-

"Yeah. What do you and the little lady want to order?"

"We would like to have one omelette rice and one tempura."

"Alright, kid! I'll be back in a bit. Tell me if you need anything else."

"Yeah thanks!"

The man serving the food goes up to two tables and slides each of the plates on the tables and says-

"Here ya go!"

The man then picks up the empty plates from the tables and goes into the room in the back of the inn.

Tatsuya keeps both of his hands on the table and leaves a long sigh.

"It's just the first day and it's been really tiring. I hope I can give that 'God' a piece of my mind someday."

While Tatsuya sulks Kei seems to be eager for the food that they ordered and she starts to hum.

"That humming... I feel like I've heard it somewhere. Hey Kei, what is the song you're humming right now?"

"I don't know. It just came in my head."

Tatsuya starts to think to himself after Kei replies-

"There are many strange things in this world which feel very similar to me for some reason... they just keep popping up unknowingly. Even the food here has similar names to the ones back in... Wait a minute... first of all where am I even from?"

"What's wrong Ryo nii?"

"Hey Kei is it all right if I asked you about who your parents are and where are you from?"

"Yeah... But I don't remember a thing other than my name."

Right at that moment the man who was serving food comes and keeps the food they had ordered on their table and says with a big smile-

"Here you go! Hope you and the little lady like the food."

He also keeps a glass of orange juice in front of Kei and says-

"Drink up! It's on the house!"

"Thank you uncle!"

"Don't mind it!" says the man serving food and goes to another table when he is called over by some drunken men to join them.

Before eating Tatsuya joins his hands and says-

"Thank you for the food!" and he starts to dig in.

Just before Kei takes a bite out of the omelette rice she sees Tatsuya praying before he started to eat. She watches him closely after putting down the spoon and imitates him-

"Tha-thank you for the food." And even she starts to eat her food happily.

After they finish eating Tatsuya stretches on the chair and says-

"Now that was truly delish! Did you like it Kei?"

"Yeah!"

The man serving the food comes to their table and says-

"All that totals up to thirty del!"

"Here's a little extra for the good food." And Tatsuya pays the man fifty del.

"Hey kid, thanks for that! You'll have to look forward to better food the next time you eat."

"Yeah! Sure..."

"Everyone calls me Hob."

"Alright Hob, thanks for the food."

Both Tatsuya and Kei get up from their chairs and they head to their room. As soon as they enter the room Kei starts to look sleepy so Tatsuya helps her get to the bed and helps her sleep on the bed. When Tatsuya does so Kei says very softly while having her eyes closed-

"Good night daddy..."

Tatsuya laughs a little and says softly as he covers her with a blanket-

"Good night Kei."

Tatsuya walks towards the wardrobe while being deep in thought. When he opens the wardrobe to keep his money the book which he had received from the strange man called Edel falls down. When the book falls down he snaps back to reality and picks up the book then thinks to himself-

"This book... it feels like its calling out to me. Maybe I should open this book... In the end, nothing dangerous could happen... but what if something does happen...?"

Tatsuya keeps thinking for some time and suddenly he hears a voice in his head-

"If you can't decide then just open it, you fool! I'm sick of waiting... anymore and I feel like I'll fade away. SO OPEN THE GODDAMN GRIMOIRE!!!

"SHUT THE HELL UP! Who are you anyways?! Talking right into my head... I'm starting to feel sick all of a sudden..."

"I am the spirit of the grimoire! Follow my commands and you will obtain a power beyond imagination!"

"Hey, you know what? I've seen it happen lots of times so stop trying to trick me. I'm not a child! Tch... Weird people talking through others heads. The people now-a-days."

"YOU LITTLE RUNT! I'M NOT JOKING... OPEN THE BOOK RIGHT NOW!"

"I don't want to so buzz off."

"If that's the case then tell me something.... don't you want to know yours and that little girl's past."

"Oye! What are you talking about? Are you a mage like old man Edel?"

"I'm not a mage but a spirit, boy! I can look into your memories you see...Hahahahaha.... Boy, don't you wanna know?! If you do then open the book."

Tatsuya starts to sweat a bit as he looks at the grimoire in his hands. Holding the grimoire in one hand he slowly moves his other hand towards the flap of the grimoire and then suddenly takes away his hand and says-

"Nah... I'm not buying all that crap..."

Just as he proceeds to keep the grimoire in the wardrobe his body starts to move on his own and his hands start to open the flap of the grimoire-

"Wha-whats happening? I can't stop my hands. Oye! Weird voice in my head is this your doing?"

"Boy... you brought this upon yourself... I had asked you to open it but you didn't listen to me! Now I will make you open the book!"

"No no no! STOOOP!!!" just when he says this a light appears from the grimoire that blinds him for some time.

He opens his eyes after a while and sees that he was still alive. He touches each part of his body to check if he really was alive and when he finishes and looks around he becomes shocked.

He sees that he was no longer in the room where he was standing. He was standing in a pitch black place. He couldn't see anything except the light that was floating in front of him which illuminated the place a bit.

"What the hell is this place?! And what is this thing?!"

"This thing you see is me... The spirit of darkness... and maybe death, Veilios."

Tatsuya looks shocked after hearing what the spirit said and then holds his chin while thinking-

"If I remember correctly I heard somewhere about there being 'Four Great spirits'. Where did I see it...?"

"Umm... boy, you should know that I can read your thoughts as well..."

"Is that so... if you were reading my thoughts then tell me something... There are four great spirits, right?"

"Well, yes you are right about that... Efreet, the Great Spirit of Fire...Undine, the Great Spirit of Water... Sylph, the Great Spirit of Wind... Gnome, the Great Spirit of Earth."

"But wasn't the spirit of fire, salamander?"

"Who is that supposed to be? I don't know where you're from but your memories do show that the spirit of fire you knew was, this lizard called salamander."

"So you weren't lying when you said you could look into my memories."

"Well, of course I wasn't! Boy I'm one of the great spirits... So don't take me so lightly."

"Wait a minute... If the great spirits are of the elements fire, water, wind and earth... then what are you?"

"I'm a great spirit, alright.... you humans came up with a new term for the magic I posses just cause they couldn't accept the fact that I was 'The Fifth Great Spirit.'

"And what was that term?"

"Ha...They called it 'Lost Magic.'"

"Lost Magic?"

"Want to know more about the magic I possess? Well, if you do then form a blood contract with me in the real world."

"Wait, then what is this place?"

"Oh this place? It's your heart... It's weird as sometimes when I looked into your heart it shone brighter than the Sun and the other times it looked as if darkness itself had engulfed your heart... It's quite interesting... you are, boy! That's why I chose to form a contract with you... Be grateful you have the blessings of a Great Spirit."

"Well... to be honest I still don't know much about this world. So, if you are trying to say that you'll help me grow strong... Then please be my guest!"

Just when Tatsuya declares this statement and blinks his eyes he sees himself back in the room in front of the open wardrobe with the grimoire in his hands.

"Blood contract, eh? Let's try it then"

Tatsuya hold the book in one hand and bites a small part of his index finger and it starts to bleed a bit. He holds the bleeding finger over the book and after three drops of blood fall from his finger onto the book the flap of the book disappears slowly. After the flap completely disappears he opens the book to see that the book was empty.

"Boy! Good job on giving me your blood!"

"Wait! Isn't there supposed to be some type of magic I can use or something?"

"Oh about that! I forgot to tell you that you will obtain magic or even skills in some cases on fulfilling conditions... Right now, you have zero magic and your strength is just normal. Once your magic increases I will be able to share my magic with you and thus you will become stronger."

"What?!... And what about Kei's memories? You said you could tell me what her memories are!"

"I CAN'T JUST READ SOMEONE'S MEMORIES! Even for that a condition has to be fulfilled."

"What is the condition?!"

Veilious laughs and says-

"You are supposed to find and fulfil those conditions... Because... Even I don't know what the conditions are..."

"If you don't know them then of what use are you?!"

"The rest is up to you boy! Once your magic spikes up I'll help you get even stronger... You can take my word on that!"

After the spirit Veilios stops speaking Tatsuya flips all the pages in the book and at the end of the book he sees a strange sentence and reads it-

"... 'Understand Thy Soul Before Thou Be At The Mercy Of Hell'. Whatever that means... it's gotten pretty late. Better sleep now."

He turns around and sees Kei sleeping peacefully. He then proceeds to lie on his bed and thinks to himself-

"Condition, huh? I need to know Kei's past to understand why she was there... was it just a coincidence...? Or fate?"

The next day Tatsuya gets up early and goes to the washroom to freshen himself up. After bathing he realizes that he only had a pair of clothes. He wears his old clothes and decides-

"Okay then... I guess I'll buy some for me and for Kei after breakfast."

Tatsuya starts to stretch in the room and after he finishes stretching he takes the grimoire from the wardrobe and looks at it for a while. Then he suddenly asks-

"Oye Veilios! You awake?"

Veilios starts to speak to him through his head-

"It's not even morning yet. Why are you waking me up?"

Tatsuya asks him with a determined face-

"So how do I become stronger before you give me your help?"

"Hahaha... So you're finally ready aren't you?"

"You bet!"

"Alright then... your first task is to..."

"Is to...?"

��You know what boy? Even if we start tomorrow there's no problem. I'm kinda sleepy so let's pick up from where we left..."

Veilios's sound stops coming into in head and Tatsuya says-

"Oye! Stop ignoring me and get up...!"

Tatsuya lets out a big sigh and says-

"Are all the spirits like this? Looks like ill have to do something for today myself." And he decides to go out for a jog. He keeps the grimoire in his one of his two pockets as the grimoire was small in size.

He says softly before leaving the room-

"Kei, I'm going now... I'll be back soon."

Tatsuya starts to jog with a slow pace and he passes the shops which were really noisy at night. The whole town hadn't woken up yet so the atmosphere was very peaceful.

While passing through the market he sees that hardly one or two people were opening their shops at that time. After exiting the market block he increases the pace with which he ran.

He entered the next district where different types of equipment were being sold in each shop. Most of the shops were open and the shops selling weapons and armour had a large crowd-

"So, I guess it's safe to assume that you can become an adventurer here... This is just like that game I used to play back in..." Tatsuya stops as when he tries to remember his head starts to hurt.

"This amnesia is quite bothersome... I'll ask Veilios later on to jog up my memory and tell me about my past."

Tatsuya starts jogging again. By the time the sun starts to rise Tatsuya reaches 'Silver Moon INN'. He opens the door and sees the lady at the reception and Hob having an argument.

He walks up to the reception while sweating and says-

"Good morning!"

"Boy, come here and listen to what Freda is saying you won't believe it!"

Tatsuya goes closer to Freda and Hob and she asks him nervously-

"What was your name again?"

"Tatsuya. Tatsuya Ryo."

"Listen Tatsuya, you don't have a job right?"

"Yeah. I don't."

"I came to know this from my close friend yesterday that a new dungeon suddenly appeared just on the outskirts of this town on the other side of the wall. Also because of the dungeons in the kingdom popping up out of nowhere people are busy and there are not many people to clear the dungeon that I just talked about... so-"

"So this woman says that she wants you to go and help them as it will earn you quite some money."

"Wait, why are you telling me this? There are many other people you can tell this to as well, right?"

"Well, Tatsuya while you are away we will take care of your sister! So go and earn some money for your family."

"Like I was saying he's not going to-"

"Alright then! I do need to keep Kei happy after all."

Freda looks overjoyed and starts to thank him over and over again.

"By the way, if you can lend me some weapon I'll be ready to go."

"Boy... please come back safe and sound! I have a dagger in the back. I've not used it in ages so you can keep it."

"Don't worry Hob! Who do you think I am?"

"Get going then, Ryo!"

As Tatsuya leaves the door to go to the back of the inn he says-

"I'm the shut-in genius Tatsuya Ryo after all!"

Tatsuya reaches the back of the inn and finds a warehouse. He opens the doors of the warehouse to see only junk lying around. He walks a bit further inside the warehouse and spots a black box kept behind some of the tables at the back.

"Guess this is it huh..."

Tatsuya picks up the box and blows off the dust over it. He opens the box and picks up the black dagger placed on the cushion inside the box.

"Interesting weapon!"

"So you were awake after all weren't ya?"

"Boy, this weapon... it's one of a kind! It allows the wielder to cloak it with their magic and it can absorb other's magic as well"

"Is that so amazing?"

"Well, if you won't believe me then the battlefield will explain it to you..."

"This is not the time to be waiting! I've gotta hurry before they enter the dungeon or I'll be left behind."

Tatsuya puts the dagger in the pocket in his hooded jacket and starts to run through the streets towards the gate. When he reaches the gate he sees that only one guard was waiting at the entrance and he asks him anxiously while panting-

"Did the adventurers already enter the dungeon outside?"

"No not yet. You made it in time. They will be entering sooner or later."

"Thanks!" says Tatsuya while he runs towards a tower in plain sight.

Tatsuya reaches the entrance of the dungeon where ten to fifteen people had gathered. Most of them had shiny armour, huge axes and spears. The person leading them had silver armour along with a silver sheath on this waist containing a sword-

"Is everyone ready?! Not that I need to ask...LET'S TAKE DOWN THE DUNGEON BOSS!!!"

Everyone present there except me gives a loud yes while holding their weapons overhead. All of us enter the dungeon while following the leader.

"Umm..."

"What is it, boy?" asks a stranger when Tatsuya calls out to him.

"Who is the person leading us?"

"What a country bumpkin you are! That man is a royal knight from the palace send by her majesty to assist us."

"That makes sense as to why he is leading us!"

Tatsuya enters the dungeon along with the rest of the people. The interior of the dungeon looked like a cave. After walking for some time everyone's composure starts to break down. They start to look scared as they take every step through the dungeon.

"What's wrong? Why is everyone so scared?"

"Kid, why aren't you scared?"

"This is my first time in a dungeon so I don't know anything about it."

"For a grown man even I'm scared! Did you realize that we haven't come across a single monster on entering this dungeon?���

"Yeah... well, what about it?"

"Usually lesser monsters like bunnies and ants attack us till we reach the boss's room."

"Wait. Bunnies and ant?!"

"Not the normal ones kid. The ants are as large as we are and the bunnies are carnivores with high speed..."

"Ok. So why are you scared then if none of them have appeared? Shouldn't you be relaxed cause you don't have to fight them and you can preserve your stamina?"

"You see... usually such cases are rare. But we just know that there's something bigger than those creatures that ate them."

"Where is the blood then?"

"Look closely. Because this dungeons structure is a cave structure you can't notice it so easily." Says the stranger pointing towards the purple blood on the walls which seem to be almost invisible as the walls start to absorb the blood."

All of them stop walking after they see the royal knight stop.

"Mr. Knight what's wrong?"

"Something has been bothering me since we entered this place... I can feel the monsters moving away further and further as we proceed."

"What could this mean?"

Right when the people start to discuss about this matter among themselves they hear the cries of the monsters in a distance as if they were in pain or they were being killed.

After few moments, the cries subside and the cave becomes awfully quiet. Then the knight suddenly draws out his silver sword and says loudly-

"Everyone get ready and stay on your toes! Here it comes."

Everyone becomes ready with their weapons and so does Tatsuya with his dagger.

Suddenly they hear something in the distance which resembles the rattling of wings.

All of them stay firm and one of them standing behind the knight asks-

"Sir Knight! Do you know what this sound is?!... Sir Knight!"

The royal knight doesn't answer them. They call out to him once more and then it happens... his head slides off of his body while a lot of blood spurts out of his neck. The body also falls down just after the head reaches the ground.

All of the people start screaming and start to pray-

"Oh God! Please keep us safe!"

"IS THERE A HEALER HERE?"

A girl wearing normal clothes comes out of the crowd with her staff and looks at his head and body separated and she says while being terrified-

"It-it's not possible... I don't know any resurrection spells!"

"Do something to bring him back! OTHERWISE WE WILL ALL DIE."

"How-how about we make a run for th-the entrance?"

"Yeah... He-he's right! Let's make a run for it."

Tatsuya looks confused as he was at the back and all few people in front of him didn't understand what was going on as well.

Suddenly Tatsuya feels chills down his spine when someone appears behind him out of thin air and whispers in his ears-

"So here you are Bringer of death, Veilios!"

Tatsuya ducks the moment he hears that and few people standing in front of him get beheaded.

He looks shocked and then thinks to himself-

"Oye! Oye! That was close!"

Then Tatsuya thinks that it was because of Veilios that he was saved and says-

"Thanks, Veilios!"

"For what? Those were your natural instincts not my power!"

"Ehh!"

"But still I never thought that I would encounter one of my previous owners... Hahaha"

"Previous owner? Who...?"

"Before that, duck once again."

Tatsuya ducks again right when the next attack comes.

"Safe!" Says Tatsuya then looks at the beheaded bodies in front of him.

He turns to ask the stranger if he was ok but-

"Hey man, you alrig-" all he sees was a body without a head.

Tatsuya turns around in rage and after seeing what the thing standing behind him was he realizes why he got those chills.

It was a human with limbs and wings similar to a flying red ant. Also he had horn shaped like mandibles.

"Boy, do you wanna know how strong that thing is?"

"Yeah, Can I fight him?"

"Raring to go, huh! Before you make that decision I'll enhance your sight temporarily."

Suddenly, Tatsuya's eyes glow a bit and then he sees his opponent's strength.

"Veilios I thought it would be digits... Why am I seeing this menacing aura coming from him?!"

"In front of his aura your aura looks cute! So make your decision or you'll definitely die."

"Alright...what shou-"

The monster in front of him lifts up one of its sword like limbs and while slashing the air he says-

"Delay."

Tatsuya senses something strange and runs towards the wall on the left. He trips and hits his head on a rock in the ground.

"Ow Ow Ow... That hurts like hell."

He looks around and sees the monster standing with his blade pointed at Tatsuya while many more get beheaded.

Only few people remained now. After looking at the monster many were terrified to the point they couldn't stand.

Tatsuya then realizes why. After looking at the body of the knight separated from his head he says-

"That's what the ruckus in the front was... Ha!"

He gets up on his feet and says loudly-

"All of you who still have magic... Blast your most powerful spells at me right now! Then make a run for the exit!!.... I'll hold him off until everyone leaves."

Everyone look confused and start to ask him-

"Have you gone insane?! You'll die if-"

"Believe in what I say! Don't you all want to survive and see your families?!"

The healer who was near the knight's body comes in front of the crowd and says-

"Your plan's pretty lousy... But it seems like there's something up your sleeve!"

"Yeah! Sure I have one." And he starts to grin.

"Everybody do what he says now or else we can't make it out."

The monster doesn't move an inch for some reason while they plan to escape and so Tatsuya takes that chance and asks Veilios-

"Why isn't he moving?

"Look closely!"

Tatsuya with his enhanced sight looks at the monsters aura getting concentrated in the centre.

"Isn't that bad news?"

"That is bad news. That guy used to be human and also my owner. That's the reason for his menacing aura."

"You better explain everything to me Veilios. Especially what he meant by, Bringer of death."

"Alright, boy! Listen to my instructions if you want to live. Then I'll explain whatever you need to know."

"You got it!"

Most of the people charge up their spells and start launching it at Tatsuya.

"The flames that burn everything in their way...Come! Fireball!"

"The light that pierces the ground itself... Come! Thunderbolt!"

"The seas that engulf everything in its path... Come! Water ball!"

Tatsuya holds his dagger pointed towards the spells and while looking at the monster advancing with full speed towards him he says-

"Here it comes!"

"VEILIOS!" says the monster while advancing with its blades pointed at Tatsuya.

An explosion takes place and one person from the crowd says-

"Now! Everybody to the exit! Don't let his death be in vain!" and everyone starts to rush towards the exit.

The explosion clears and the healer while leaving sees that he blocks the blades of the monster with the dagger held in one hand. When she looks closely she sees the dagger glowing while emanating the magic everyone had used.

"What are you waiting for?! Escape now while I distract him!"

The healer comes back to her senses and then continues running towards the exit.

"Good grief... now that everyone's out let's do this seriously! SHALL WE?!" and he pushes back the monster to its original position."

"Boy you better thank me for this!"

"Sure! Now let's finish him off with one strike!"

The monster looks through its sight that the magic was flowing through the blade into his body and it kept on spreading throughout Tatsuya's entire body.

Just when the monster takes a step forward to attack Tatsuya it stops and screeches as if it were in agony.

Tatsuya leaps with full speed and slashes his dagger at the monster. The screeching continues and the place where it had been slashed starts to heal at a very fast rate. Its face starts to change into something other worldly and its wings start to grow.

Tatsuya slashes it countless times but it keeps healing faster and faster every time it gets slashed.

"Why does it keep healing?!" says Tatsuya while slashing the monster.

���Boy, you've raised your magic along with your strength quite a bit but it seems that it wasn't enough to take it down."

"Bring it on!"

"I'm just sharing a bit of my power with you. Use it up before his transformation completes."

"Transformation?! This is turning out to be ugly!"

Tatsuya suddenly feels a surge of power flow through his body while keeping calm he says-

"This unusual feeling of calmness during a battle. So this is what it feels to be strong!"

"Right now, you're as strong as.... No, stronger than your opponent! So cut him down!"

Tatsuya's aura spikes up as he gets ready to defeat the monster. The monster's limbs suddenly burst and acid like material spreads everywhere. Tatsuya gets affected by the acid a well. As it falls directly on his body his body starts to burn and bleed.

Tatsuya starts to scream in pain as well and says-

"This is the end for you!!!" and strikes a single slash much faster than before.

The screaming of the monster stops and his dagger gets parried by the monster. Tatsuya loses his balance and when he tries to stand on his feet many small cuts appear on his body.

"Tch... Boy, he's transformed."

"How do you know that? I can't see his aura anymore."

"Its better you don't see. Anyways, try to hold your own for some time befor-"

The monster starts to grin in an eerie way and then looks at Tatsuya while saying-

"Enhanced skill... Haste!"

Tatsuya's small cuts open and blood sprays out.

"AHHHHHH...!" says Tatsuya while his weakened body drops on the ground.

The transformed monster comes closer to Tatsuya and picks him up by his head.

"What kind of monster are you?!" and he coughs up blood.

"Monster...? Hahahaha. Aren't you a bit off mark, vessel of Veilios? To be exact, I'm a demon!"

"Demon or not... I'll definitely kill you!"

"Oh my! Big words for a man on the verge of death..."

The monster throws Tatsuya with a lot of force and he flies all the way to the entrance of the dungeon, hits his head multiple times while he rolls.

Tatsuya says with a weak voice while coughing blood-

"Th-that thing... it's just too st-strong..."

Everyone had entered the gate to the city by then. The last person to enter the city, the healer hears the sound of something at the entrance of the dungeon. When she turns around, she gets terrified on seeing the corpse like body of Tatsuya and stats to run towards him.

"Stop! Don't come here! Enter the gates now!"

"But you will die!"

"While he's still distracted, escape! Now!" says Tatsuya with the last bit of strength he had left.

"I'm a healer and it is my responsibility to heal the injured!" says the healer as she runs beside Tatsuya.

Tatsuya laughs a little and says-

"You really are a fool, aren't you?"

The healer starts to heal the wounds on his body by chanting-

"Oh! The great goddesses of light give this man his strength back so that he can protect once again! Heal!"

While she starts to heal him she feels the tremendous pressure from the monster's strength. The monster comes walking from the darkness in the dungeon and yawns-

"Now that the vessel of Veilios has been killed time to take a tour... Let's see how long it has been since I was trapped in here."

He reaches the entrance and looks at the huge walls of the kingdom and the sky. Then before stepping out, he looks below and sees that the healer was healing Tatsuya while looking at its face.

"Why is your face so pale...? Doesn't matter now. You can join him in the afterlife as well."

Her eyes become teary as he stretches his arm towards her head. Suddenly, his arm gets sliced into three equal parts.

"Little lady, you okay?"

A lousy looking man who looked like he was in his thirties walks up to the entrance of the dungeon with his katana stares into the monster's face without fear.

"Heal that boy... I'll take care of this guy!"

"Take care? Don't think you can kill me-"and its other arm flies away.

"Sorry, man! I didn't hear what you were saying."

"Hast-"

Before the monster uses his skill the swordsman take two steps back and unsheathes his sword-

"Art of slaying, Second strike! Unseen Flash!"

The monster's torso gets sliced diagonally and slides off.

"What did you do?!"

"Hmm.... Maybe my angle was a bit off... Oh, well! What's done is done!"

The swordsman sees that his body starts to regenerate itself and he slashes the body multiple times really fast while saying-

"Can't have you doing that now, can we?" And then stabs him in his gut to deal the finishing blow.

The monster starts to disappear and when it completely disappears he sees the black dagger lying on the floor. He picks it up and gives it to the healer.

"You know what you're supposed to do with this."

The healer finishes healing him. He wasn't healed completely as many wounds weren't closing. She ties a bandage on his arm and his torso then takes the dagger from his hand.

"Whoever you might be... I'm grateful to you!"

"Don't mind it, little lady! Ok then...now that my jobs done I'll head home to sleep some." And he yawns.

Before the healer asks their unknown saviour his name, he disappears just as suddenly as he had arrived.
