Chapter 3: Hamburger and Fries.

The room was remarkably plain.

Too plain in fact.

The room was not decorated at all as it retained the gray color of Chaldea. It had a single bed that wasn't too big or too small, just enough to make minor movements when sleeping. There was a closet that was built directly into the wall as well as a coffee maker that had been built into the wall as well. Next to the coffee maker was a built-in space for mugs and thermos to rest.

In a world of grey, any other color would be king. In this case, the green leaf plant in the corner of the room that almost reached two-meters tall became the king of the place.

There was also a massive screen planted straight into the wall, covering nearly a third of the entire wall opposite to the bed.

There weren't even any desks or any appliances other than the coffee maker and the remote for the big screen.

Lin Xu sat on the office chair, which was somehow there despite there being no tables or desks, and pushed himself along the room for no reason.

[Would you like to consume the Chilly-Chilly Fruit?]

'When did the system become so formal?'

[Eat the fruit, moron.]

'...'

A light blue fruit materialized out of the air and dropped firmly on Lin Xu's right hand. It had a weird pattern of shards looped on top of each other. 'So this is the Chilly-Chilly Fruit.'

[...No, it's actually the Flame-Flame Fruit.]

Lin Xu ignored the system's sarcasm and bit into the fruit.

It tasted a lot like his sister's cooking.

As in it's borderline repulsive.

He wanted to spit out the bits; it felt nauseous just to have it in his mouth.

'Huh? Does this mean that my reflexes are already at the level where I can turn myself into ice by pure intuition? My sixth-sense was probably already enhanced by becoming a servant, so this is a small but welcomed bonus.' It's like adding few points to an already high score, it's nice but not needed. What he does care about is Kuzan's prowess in using the Devil Fruit as the Marine Admiral had demonstrated that he could freeze an entire tsunami that was about to submerge Marineford!

'How?'

A panel popped up in his peripheral. There were a few unread messages that were sent immediately after he had eaten the fruit. He clicked on the mail that arrived first.

How is Chaldea? Do you like it? I can't influence much of the Nasuverse even if you don't like it anyway~

Having you sent here already used up all of the favors that I had~

Lin Xu immediately willed his inventory to open; it was even simpler than having to press the 'i' key, not that there was any.

Lin Xu felt like a grandchild who was given a massive book by his grandmother as a present, and then when he opened the book, each of the 1200 pages were filled with 1000 yuan!

'And you want me to eat at least two every day?!'

Lin Xu 'dragged' the fruits back into the mail and sent it back to the Goddess.

Lin Xu didn't reply to her mail and quietly sat until the system offered him the chance to summon Dorami.

She wasn't an 'item' and could not be stored in the inventory, so he actually had no way of summoning her.

He brought out a watermelon and placed it on the floor.

'Why won't they have a table?!' Lin Xu complained internally.

Ever since he had eaten the Chilly-Chilly fruit, he realized that he could 'feel' the air, or more accurately, the water molecules in the environment. If he wanted to, he could start freezing the spot that he's standing on and then have it expand outwards at an extremely fast rate, or he can shoot out ice from his palms that could freeze whatever it touches and expand as well.

He formed a mental image of a sword and layered it on top of his hands.

'Ice Sword!' He called out mentally.

In his palms suddenly grew out a grip, and then a cross-guard, and eventually the blade. He 'felt' that he could change the shape at will and started playing around with it, reforming the sword into a spear, and then into a dagger, and then back into a sword.

The spot where he stood quickly turned into ice as it rushed towards the watermelon. He then willed the ice under the watermelon to pierce upwards, splattering the 'blood' all over the floor. He then created a table under the watermelon, but still above the ground, and then cut the watermelon into slices.

"Eh?"

Why haven't you replied?! Are you mad at me?

Did you eat the fruits yet? Remember, two a day!]

"Is there a screenshot function?"

[Yeah, I don't know why I have it either.]

Lin Xu felt his 'mind' shutter for a second, and then a picture appeared in his inventory. He then mailed it back to his super-granny.

Look at the way you eat! So snobbish! Use a fork and a knife! What if someone walks in on you like that Σ(`･ω･|||) Make sure you properly mop the floor after the ice defrosts! The room is the manifestation of one's heart! If it's dirty, then your heart is dirty! o(;△;)o

We apologize for Mother's ... 'enthusiasm'. Mother was not allowed to interfere much with the mortal world after a few incidents and was only allowed to watch and give minor revelations, so to be able to actually to talk with one of her children after so long, She's a bit... emotional.

As for the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life, please don't use them. Mother got a little bit emotional up when you returned the fruits; wait did you already return the two trees? We thank you for your understanding of the matter, while it may be okay to eat the Fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil, humankind should never eat from the Tree of Life.

We hope that you two have a good time there in Chaldea.]

[Summon Dorami?]

"Yes!" Lin Xu replied.

'Wait,' Lin Xu instantly regretted his decision. He could already see an orange door frame appear out of nowhere right next to him, 'I didn't clean up the room yet!'

He dematerialized the sliced watermelon as it reappeared back in his inventory. He then willed the ice to retract as they quickly backtracked into his body. The 'ice human' could've just left them on the spot, but his ice at the weakest level would probably melt only after 2-3 days, it was much easier to have it retract into him. He also didn't want to clean up either.

The orange door opened and Lin Xu gulped.

He had always wanted either Doraemon or Dorami.

It was like a kid's dream come true.

"Uwahh, why is it so cold..."

Lin Xu could instantly recognize the sweet and gentle voice. A cobalt yellow robotic cat walked out of the door, with 'ears'[1] resembling a large red bow, her tail oddly shaped like a flower. Dorami shared the same body type as her brother, about 129 cm tall and with her round head being slightly bigger than her body. Her most noticeable trait, other than her beautiful eyelashes, was her pocket stationed right on the bottom half of her body. Her pocket has red crossed stripes on them and is one of the most iconic items in anime history, the 4th Dimensional Pocket, otherwise known as the 4D pocket.

Despite their mechanical roots, these robots were fully capable of emotions and even has the five senses! The robotic cat looked around as she shivered a bit, trying to find her new companion. Her eyes stopped at Lin Xu at which she immediately ran to.

"Xu-kun!"

Lin Xu didn't know how to reply, probably because of cultural differences. In Chinese, people don't separate the surname and first name when communicating with someone, but in Japanese they do. It was the first time he had been referred to as his first name which was weird, but he gradually accepted it after a little bit of thinking. 'Xu' was undoubtedly better than the on'yomi version of his name [2]!

"Megami-sama has informed me on our current situation. Jeez, were you playing around with your 'gadget' thing?"

The world where the two came from did not have 'magic,' everything was based on technology so it was hard for Dorami to refer to his new powers accurately.

"Yeah, this is a 'gadget' that allows me to turn into ice and create ice at will."

The girl turned to him and pouted. The room was just so cold!

"Xu-kun, what season do you like?" She asked as she reached into her 4D pocket.

Lin Xu wasn't expecting a question like this and started thinking. He was fine with all the seasons; it didn't matter much since he didn't go outside much.

"All?"

"If that's the case," she pulled a badge from her 4D pocket, "All Seasons Badge!"

The badge had four 'parts,' each representing the seasons. There was a pointer in the middle for selecting the season that the user wanted. The girl walked to the wall and stuck the badge firmly into the wall.

"Since it's so cold, let's go with summer!" She said as she turned the pointer to the 'bright sun' picture on the badge and pressed it.

She gave a cute smile as the room temperature slowly warmed up to 32°C (~90°F). The layers of frost on the plants nearby slowly started to melt as the plant gradually grew taller, the leaves turned into a lovely shade of green.

Lin Xu was only minorly affected by the heat change since he was a 'Freezing Human.'

"It feels so warm now... I want to sleep... No, no, Dorami what are you saying." She shook her head as she looked around the room.

"Even Nobita's room is a lot more colorful is this." She stated. She didn't like how 'un-homely' the room felt.

"Yeah, it's not a place you would want to live in for the rest of your life." Lin Xu couldn't help but agree.

Dorami hopped on his bed and sat, her small legs dangling by the side of the bed as she asked, "Xu-kun, do you want to change the room?"

She was not going to live in a place like this!

It felt more like a hospital facility than a home!

"Yes!"

"How do you want it to look like?"

"Nobita's room!" Lin Xu instantly responded.

Nobita's room is tiny, even smaller than the room that they're in.

But it was cozy, comfortable, and felt homey.

Dorami smiled as she started bringing out some gadgets and laying them on top of the bed. Lin Xu could recognize some of them.

Any-Maker, a medium sized gadget that resembled a box with a mirror on top. It is capable of creating and copying anything into existence!

Four-Dimensional Building Extensional Blocks, a mini-house with extra blocks lying around. It is capable of creating extra space, or 'rooms,' inside a given building. Externally, the place would look like just any room but inside, the room could be the size of a football field!

Anywhere Window, a window version of Anywhere Door that Doraemon came out of, it is shaped like a sliding window. It is capable of 'showing' any location, and if the user wants, they can go through the window and appear in the revealed location! The window applied wormhole technology!

Dorami continued pulling out some other gadgets that he couldn't recognize. The girl didn't bother explaining the tools since it would take a while to explain the 10+ gadgets that she would eventually pull out to completely change the room.

But if Lin Xu asked, she would be more than happy to explain!

"Should I go out for a while?"

Dorami pondered for a bit and then gave a gentle smile, "You must be hungry right? Get something to eat and then come back, by then I should be finished! Give me a little bit, and I'll have us a comfortable home!"

Lin Xu nodded and walked outside. As he was about to head towards the lounge for some food, the door behind him immediately opened, and he was quickly knocked down.

"Owie... Oh, Xu-kun! I forgot!" She said as she pulled out a fancy camera with intricate red designs on it, the most notable feature about it was just how 'blocky' it was. "Dress-Up Camera!"

She then took out a regular camera and took a picture of his current appearance, the one with armor. The camera immediately printed out a high-resolution photo and she stored it within her pocket. "I don't think you want to look so menacing to people, so I wondered if you want to change your attire?"

Dorami probably didn't know that compared to everyone else, his armor wasn't that 'menacing' but he nodded anyway. The modern part of him wanted to wear some casual clothes, but wouldn't it bring up questions on how he so suddenly became 'fashionable'?

Dorami then took out a regular blank sheet of paper and an ordinary looking pencil. "Do you want to draw out a set of clothes?"

"I can't draw." Lin Xu admitted.

She then wrote down on the blank sheet of paper and handed it to Lin Xu along with the pencil.

Lin Xu took it, and on the paper, it asked, "What clothes is Lin Xu thinking of? Draw it on the space below."

"That pencil," she pointed, "is called Computer Pencil! It'll answer any questions! Just think of the clothes that you want to wear, and it'll draw it out for you!"

'Oh, this is the pencil that Doraemon wouldn't give to Nobita because he knew that Nobita would cheat on the quizzes with it! I wished I had this back in college!'

Lin Xu immediately thought of the clothes that the martial arts practitioners of his country wore. It wouldn't bring up many questions as another servant also wore the same attire.

The pencil immediately started sketching out a design.

Lin Xu then handed the paper and pencil back to Dorami. She took a quick look at it and nodded her head as she inserted the picture into the pink camera.

"Give me a smile, Xu-kun!" She said as she lined up the design onto his body.

Poof!

A cloud of smoke suddenly appeared on Lin Xu, and as the smoke dissipated she smiled at his new appearance.

The clothes that Lin Xu 'drew' was the same clothes that Kamui from Gintama wore! A traditional uniform used in Chinese martial arts, with a black and white top sporting elbow length sleeves, and gray pants that reaches the middle of his lower leg. He had to admit, he looked pretty good in them.

"I should show this to Onii-chan's friend!" Dorami said to herself. Doraemon was a part of a group called 'The Doraemons', and one of them was a robotic cat called Wang Dora who also wore similar clothes and focused on medicine and martial arts. 'They would definitely be good friends!'

Dorami then remembered that her brother skipped out on his annual checkups again!

"Okay. See you soon!" She smiled as she walked back into their room.

Lin Xu nodded and waved goodbye as he took his time to walk to the lounge. As he walked in he was immediately assaulted by the loud chatter from the previous time he had come with Mashu.

"Oi, Alter! It's already your 32nd burger!"

"It's only my 28th burger, why do you care? Do you want it as well? I'm not sharing."

"I finally finished the little sister route! Time to start the Onee-chan route hehehe..."

"Milk! I need milk! Ahhhh, thank you David. Who would've known that this curry used concentrated ghost pepper extract instead of using the real deal?!"

"Stop throwing food at me!"

"Then stop dodging!"

Lin Xu walked up to the chef managing the kitchen. "Excuse me, could I have some... uhhhh... could I get..."

He actually didn't know what to eat, then he remembered a few servants talking about hamburger!

"Could I have a hamburger and some fries?"

The chef nodded and walked off. She was a lady of little words as she put on her apron and started seasoning the beef patty with some sea salt.

Lin Xu waited as he looked around the lounge; there had to be at least 40 servants here. He recognized most of them, but he didn't know much about their backstory since he only paid attention to characters that he liked, and even then, he didn't read much.

Honestly, he was a bit scared of interacting with them; each of them was already in their groups hanging around. He felt like a transfer student in a different country when classes had already started for a month!

Lin Xu walked around, stopping at the pastries under the glass shelf. 'I should get some melon bread when I go back.'

He knew that his new partner loved melon bread and since she was working so hard making a room the both of them would feel at home with, it would be unfair to go back empty-handed.

Ring!

Lin Xu walked back to the counter and was handed a tray with a delicious hamburger and a load of french fries and ketchup. He could smell the beef patty and wanted to dine immediately.

"Would you like something to drink?" The chef asked as she pointed at the assortment of fine wine behind her. She also pointed at where the carbonated drinks were at and waited for him to reply.

"Can I just have some orange juice? Oh, and without the pulp, if you don't mind."

For some reason, the chef raised her brows as she walked out of the kitchen and into the fruit section. She picked out a few fresh oranges and started to prepare the orange juice.

Within a few minutes, she came back with some orange juice and placed it on his tray.

'Did she give me toys?!' Lin Xu looked at the staff with confused eyes. She only replied with a smile and walked back into the kitchen, preparing more ingredients for dinner.

Lin Xu turned around and looked for some seats. There were more than enough empty tables, but he wanted to listen in on the chatter, like being alone and having the television playing when you don't even want to watch it. Having something in the background is much better than nothing.

He stopped a table away from where most of the servants were, the closest being a blue-haired servant wearing a full body tight throwing food at another servant clad entirely in armor, except that her helmet was off. Her blonde hair tied into a ponytail as it gentle flowed in the air as she dodged the food flying straight at her.

"You'll never hit me, Puppy of Ulster!"

"Stop calling me that! At least use 'Hound!' It sounds much cooler!"

The pair of red and blue kept on jumping tables and running on walls; Lin Xu didn't bother with them since it didn't look like they were coming near him.

He brought the hamburger to his mouth, making sure to hold it evenly so that the juice doesn't drip.

"Ahhhh," He opened his mouth, full of expectations for the torrent of flavor!

Psh!

A steel fork flew straight at him!

Perhaps it was his Observation Haki, his sixth sense, but his body structure immediately turned into ice without him realizing it!

Unbeknownst to Lin Xu, the 40 servants in the room have been watching his every move ever since he walked in with Mashu.

They were curious, not because he was special or anything, but just because he was a newcomer. They wanted to know who his real identity was; they wanted to know how powerful he was, they just wanted their curiosity satiated.

Two of them wanted to know firsthand.

The Child of Light, Cú Chulainn.

The Knight of Treachery, Mordred.

As the pair was messing around with each other, Cú 'accidentally' threw a fork aiming straight at the newcomers head.

He wanted to know how the newcomer would react, as the way one uses their body to respond would tell a lot about their personality.

He was expecting to hear the sound of steel hitting the wall next to the newcomer.

No.

Not just him.

They were all expecting to hear it.

Crack!

'What?!'

They were surprised; they knew that Cú didn't throw the fork with enough force to break the wall!

Did the newcomer not dodge?

Why didn't he dodge?

Crack!

Their eyes widened.

The newcomer broke down?!

Into pieces of ice?!

"What the heck?" Mordred couldn't help but ask out loud. This was just so confusing!

They watched as the blocks of ice shatter into smaller pieces as they hit the ground.

"Is this some form of magic?"

"Huh... Interesting."

Some tried to reason how this could happen.

Some merely watched.

What they saw next however, shocked all of them again!

The shattered ice started to reform itself!

It started by forming a pair of legs! Then a lower torso! Upper torso! Arms! Neck! Head!

The clothes too!

"..." The observers were dumbfounded as the newcomer reformed himself.

The next thing he did shock them again!

He didn't say anything.

He didn't try to find the culprit.

He didn't even turn away from his food!

He just resumed eating as if nothing happened!

"Wait." the newcomer said.

The servants listened as he picked up his fries.

"The fries froze..."

Lin Xu didn't even realize that he was attacked as he reformed himself. If he were conscious of what he was doing, he would've realized that what he had done was remarkably similar to another Logia user, Borsalino, also known as Kizaru! The most important skill that a Logia user must have is their Observation Haki! The passive usage of it allows the user to sense danger and immediately morph themselves into their element purely on reflex!

Lin Xu tried to dangle his fries to no avail, "The fries froze..."

He walked to the microwave not realizing that other servants were watching him.

As he waited for the fries to unfreeze, he was struck by a revelation!

'If I use the time machine hidden in Nobita's desk drawer, shouldn't I be able to join Master even if she doesn't want me to come? As a matter of fact, couldn't I go back months earlier than Master?'

He crossed his legs subconsciously as he started thinking.

'Wait, why should I even go? Is there even a need? Wait, I can go back to ancient Chi--"

Ding!

'Crap! What was I thinking about again? Ah, whatever. It probably isn't that important.'

Lin Xu took out the fries and started dangling them, only to find his fries breaking down.

"Ehhhh, it's all soggy now."

'Screw it.' He didn't like microwaved food anyway.

He eyed the moist fries, disgusted by how nasty it was. He picked it up and headed towards the trash bin.

"Give it to me if you don't want them."

A cold voice called out to him. Lin Xu turned around, brown eyes meeting golden.

Lin Xu knew who she was. Cladded in jet black armor, beautiful pale skin, and mesmerizing golden eyes.

The Dark-Tainted Tyrant.
