Prologue

Do you believe in fate?

The confines of a predetermined destiny, the harsh reality that binds us all. The ends that justifies the means, the results that were destined to be.

Fate has a way of pulling people back to where they began. But what if fate was overcome by the will of an individual?

"Boss, the investors will be arriving in 10 minutes. How should we greet them?" The assistant asked.

"They have come for a visit, giving them gifts at the beginning of the visit will just be a hassle for them to carry. Greet them normally, with some hospitality staff. Gifts will be given at the end of the meeting." The boss spoke.

"Very well, try not to overwork yourself, boss." The assistant said as he left the room.

*****

The protagonist is a billionaire who came into power through sheer effort alone. Relentless calculations and negotiations are what built his enterprise, luck was but a numeral to him. Ever since he was abandoned in his childhood, he had been working every hour he could possibly give. Not a single moment was spent idling, even small talk was designed to get information out of acquaintances.

But of course, life cannot go on with that type of lifestyle. The protagonist has been rather sickly as of late, growing worse as the days go by. But with no time to take a break, life keeps on going. That was until this fateful day came.

*****

The protagonist sat in his chair as he waited in the meeting room, sifting through piles of paperwork.

"I see...we need to put more fund into the testing department."

The door suddenly opened a moment after.

"Greetings XXXX, we have come to talk to you about the state of the software division-"

The boss fell to the floor as he attempted to get up from his chair, unable to push himself back up. His body stopped moving after a split second, with his organs essentially stagnant as they stopped working. The boss died at that very moment.

"BOSS! SOMEONE GET THE AMBULANCE! THE BOSS IS DYING!"

The company scramble to find medical help but to no avail, the boss had already died. Soon the company was taken over by a rival, filing for bankruptcy within a year of the takeover. The legacy that the protagonist had built had already been destroyed just like that. The company was gone, and he will be remembered only as the man that died too young.

"I have no regrets, I created an empire that started from nothing. Nothing is in your control when you die I guess. But that's okay, I can have peace now."

The protagonist simply rested in the void that came to become his home, falling into peaceful slumber.

"He died at only age 21 and yet remained satisfied. Your time is not up, I will grant you a chance to fulfil what you should have; but not in this world. Your cunning is needed elsewhere." A voice suddenly announced.

"Talented people should live."

FLASH

The protagonist felt a warm light cover him as he felt his conscious fade, reviving it. He felt a strange sense as he regained some of his feelings, but felt nothing warmth and cold.

[What is this? Where is my sight?]

The protagonist felt no stiffness in his body, almost as if his body had disappeared. The aches and pains that he once felt were now gone. It was as if he had been cured of all of his problems, even his mind felt clearer than it did before. Perhaps he was dreaming, but surely he had just died. The living can't just come back to life, it is fate to die.

"Little one, is see that you still have yet to receive sight." An echoing voice spoke.

"Where am I?"

The protagonist's voice shifted into an ethereal pitch, almost unintelligible.

"Little one, if you can make it to me without your sight, I will grant you 3 wishes." The voice spoke again.

"What can I ask for?"

"Anything within my power."
