Chapter 10: Orc Aggression

The group arrived back at their settlement only to find it occupied by a small group of plate armoured individuals. These figures seemed to be much bulkier than humans that Millen had encountered a Millenia ago. The only idea that he could think of was that they were of some sort of monster species that served a powerful master. The figures had used the altar as a make shift toilet without consideration for its owner, angering the wolves.

The spontaneous appearance of such disrespectful creatures seemed much to impromptu for a small area like this, but then again, Millen appeared in this discreet area, so it is definitely not impossible for others to just appear out of no where too. But this was not the issue, the issue was that the wolves had just witnessed their sacred altar of their lord being disgraced by the Beings that had occupied their land.

SNIFF SNIFF

"This scent is that of meat, goblin meat." Bastion spoke.

"When did you encounter goblins?" Millen asked.

"When they attacked our pack. Food is sometimes best when you don't have to look for it." Bastion responded.

"So it seems that these creatures are consuming goblins and taking them to our settlement."

Millen drew his sword and walked towards his camp, tapping his blade on the hard ground.

"Invaders, leave my land or suffer the consequences!" Millen announced.

The armoured figures turned to him, revealing pig-like faces that were stained in blood. These creatures were none other than orcs. The orcs numbered at around 50, but for some reason they were here, in Millen's home.

"Orcs, leave or be laid waste to."

Millen discreetly suppressed his aura to make him seem less powerful as he said this, to give him the advantage of surprise.

"Kill that thing! WE SHALL EAT!"

The 50 orcs rushes towards Millen, but were quickly repelled by his lone sword.

THUD

Their heads fell to the ground in single swoops as they were too weak to repel his blade. The leader of a pack of 30 or so wolves would not become food for pigs.

"There are more of them..." Atlas spoke.

"INTO DEFENCIVE POSITIONS."

Atlas and his pack surrounded the base in a circular formation, ready to repel the forces that were hiding in wait.

"Wolves Of Jura, become our food." A voice spoke.

Immediately a hulking orc in black armour appeared from the opposite side of the clearing that the pack had entered from. The hulking creature wielded a buster sword that was the size of 2 orcs, wielding it with a single arm. But his aura was weak, weaker than the weakest wolf of the pack. The wolves did not have a single fear against such a useless enemy.

"I am an orc General under The orc lord, Geld. Become our food."

A large wave of 1000 orcs appeared from the tree line, surrounding the small group of wolves. Millen tapped his sword on the ground and simply made a simple beat as he thought to himself.

"Business involves hostile takeovers. The best way to deal with things such as this, is to eliminate the other party and claim their resources as our own. No one can dispute that they were the aggressors, and we simply acted in self defence. We can claim their bodies as food for the winter, material for enhancement of my Tempering, a lot. Shame that we cannot just ask them...TO KILL THEMSELVES."

FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP...

The army of one thousand suddenly fell to the ground as each one of their bodies became limp. The General fell to his knees as he began to sweat blood. The pressure of Millen's directed speech was enough to stop their hearts. In that moment he managed to negotiate them to just die.

"Orc General, you seem to not understand that fodder is just fodder. You are the strongest orc of the lot, so why not become my subordinate. You will never hunger when you become tempered, choose wisely, it may be your last choice of all." Millen spoke.

"Impossible...you cannot sate my hunger! It is painful, I can never feel peace. How can someone cure such a curse?"

"Then you choose death?"

"If you can cure my hunger I will forever be in your debt."

"I choose you, life."

"Then be named, Bishop."
