The Battle of the Night

[You have successfully absorbed the cultivation base of the 10 (2) years old Forest Mice, thereby solidifying your own cultivation base!]

[Your cultivation base has increased by 2 years old! Plus 20 points into the host attribute spiritual power stats! All stats have been increased!]

A year worth of cultivation for a spirit beast is equivalent to 10 attributes spiritual power points according to the levelling system, and Yao Zi just then has managed to gain a minor boost in power up in one go. All in the days of work if I say so myself.

It took some time for Yao Zi to completely digest his food, at the same time, consolidating his cultivation base and making the powers of the 10 years old Forest Mice his own.

Yao Zi could instinctively feel a sudden small burst of spiritual energy unravelling from within his core region, as the quantity of his spiritual power lying dormant within his dantian (elixir field) has grown, more than double when he initially started cultivating.

Due to the sudden increase in his cultivation base, Yao Zi's small ordinary Grass Snake body was thereby forced to grow up and mature prematurely, as the length of his snake body then grew by a couple of centimetres. From an outside perspective, it may not be worth mentioning, but to Yao Zi, it was a worthy achievement worth celebrating.

'I have become slightly more powerful than my previous self when I first started cultivating, but it is not something worth being proud of.' Yao Zi thought so to himself as he grimaced.

'Status!' Yao Zi then recited the keyword inside his head.

You have 2 blood essence points]

'My attribute stats have risen slightly after I've increased my cultivation base, but noticeably of all, I've gained a few blood essence points.' Yao Zi thought so to himself.

'Though, the accumulated amounts of blood essence points are not enough to be worth spending, as it would take at least 10 gathered blood essence points just to increase one minor attribute stats points. What a pretentious way of spending blood essence points!' Yao Zi commented, feeling slightly puffed.

He then continues to cultivate relentlessly into the middle of the night, not giving up until he mentally tires out.

[Through practice meditation your spiritual power has been increased by 1 point!]

Whilst, Yao Zi was preoccupied with cultivation, practising in order to improve oneself.

His snake tongue then suddenly got a whiff of the chemical scent of a nearby spirit beast, a nocturnal predator of the night, and it was quite close by to Yao Zi's current location.

It thereby causes Yao Zi to suddenly raise the alarm, his body then froze up on the spot, remaining still and unmoving like a statue, but his small pair of eyes then immediately shot wide open. From within the dark spot hidden in the bushes, it steadily glances at where the sounds are originating from.

The large figure was obscured, blocked by the surrounding bush leaves, but there were noticeably two pairs of glowing orange amber stone lamp-like eyes. It stares off into a different direction.

'It seems to not have noticed my presence, or rather because it wasn't even looking for me in the first place.' Yao Zi thought so to himself, as the large nocturnal creature then drew much closer towards the spot where he was hiding.

The large nocturnal creature was near inches away from Yao Zi's hiding spot, hidden within the deepest depths of the bushes, as the bush leaves were rustling loudly, brushing profusely against the body of the large nocturnal creature. Yao Zi's heart was beating rather loudly, thumping inside of his chest, in steadfast anticipation.

'Let it not find out where I am! Let it not find out where I am!' Yao Zi anxiously thought so to himself, greatly anticipating for the worst.

It was then that something occurred, that happened outside of his realm of expectation, as a large avian creature with splendid white silver wings that shone brilliantly in the moonlight, it swoops down from above its hiding spot, thereby brandishing its razor-sharp talons.

As the large avian creature descends rapidly, its large razor-sharp talons then sunk into the flesh and skin of one of the shoulders of the other large nocturnal creature. The large nocturnal creature then screams in agonising pain of having one of its shoulder being pierced by the large avian creature's razor-sharp talon.

The large avian creature then flaps its wings, pointing in the direction downwards, thereby creating an upward thrust and airstream, pushing its large avian bird-like body upwards into the sky.

After dealing some significant damage to the large nocturnal creature, the large avian creature then ascends towards the sky, thereby gaining some safe distance away from the agitated large nocturnal creature.

Not before ripping a big chunk of meat out from the right shoulder of the large nocturnal creature, but the large avian creature was still not satisfied with what it got, a small chunk of meat when compared to a large feast that lay right before its own eyes. How could it dare be complacent with a piece of meat fit enough for a snack?

The large nocturnal creature was extremely enraged, having suffered such great humiliation, it then slams both of its arms down against the ground in anger, thereby psyching itself up.

The large avian creature, currently suspended up in midair, constantly flapping its huge wings in order to remain aviated. It steadily chuckles, laughing at the measly creature that is forever stuck ground-bound, destined to not meet airborne.

Greatly infuriated by it all, the large nocturnal creature then slams both of its hands against the ground, then ripping out small chunks of dirt and debris from the ground, and utilising it as projectile bullets to be thrown at the large avian creature that is airborne.

'This I really got to see. A battle between two other spirit beast, a fight worth a lifetime, where each one would pit their abilities and skill against another for the kill.' Yao Zi excitedly commented, as he slowly slivers out from his hiding spot, hidden underneath the deepest depths, areas of the bush.

From an outsider's perspective, you could see the bottom bush leaves rustling and shaking slightly, as a small little ordinary Grass Snake then emerged out from his hiding spot.

The little ordinary Grass Snake was Yao Zi, as his body was still clearly hidden in the bushes, his little soft snake peeking out from right underneath the covers of the bush leaves. It was just enough to allow him to get a sight, and gauge his surroundings of the incoming fight to behold.

'Woah!' Yao Zi commented, slightly surprised by it all.

The two spirit beast nocturnal creatures that were currently battling it out right now, were indeed powerful capable hundred years old spirit beast. One was a ground-bound creature that somewhat resembles an earth-based racoon, with slightly augmented features that made it suitable for combat.

The 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon has a pair of buff arms that resemble humans and prime apes. In addition, to it also possessing five forefingers that made it capable of wielding stick as tools, climbing, jumping, and swinging from another tree branch like monkeys do.

And the other one was an owl, the owl was extremely big, huge in Yao Zi's perspective. The owl's feathers were completely white and they were constantly glistening in the moonlight, as they then flap about.

Its sky blue eyes were mesmerising and alluring, as when it flies over, its avian bird-like body slightly blocking out the sight of the moon, thereby casting a shadow over its front body. The alluring sky blue eyes would undoubtedly glow in the middle of the night which certainly makes it all the more dazzling.

The 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl quickly ascends to the sky, dodging out of the way of the incoming earth and debris projectiles, fired by the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon.

kaw! kaw!

The 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl then rips out several pieces of feathers from its own wings to be used as feather darts and then infuses its own spiritual power into the pulled out feathers to strengthen it beyond normal arrows.

The feather darts that is infused with the 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl's spiritual power, warmly wrapped up in an intensely bright white light, as it slowly suspended in midair gravitating around the avian creature's huge body, like a personal army.
