1 - prologue -

"Mom and dad, I miss you..."

I hug the old and tattered picture frame close to my heart as tears pour down from my face, puffing up my eyes red in the process.

"I am where you guys want me to be, but why am I not happy?" I turn my head to look at the window, and I see dark rainclouds in the sky.

I smile bitterly.

I am now a wide known sorcerer, with everything I could ever want.

But it doesn't feel right.

Something's missing.

And I know what that something is, but I don't want to admit it. I've tried hard in forgetting, but I'm not succeeding.

3 years.

3 years since he disappeared without a word.

14 years since I was a poor child getting bullied left and right because of my lack of skill in magic.

10 years since my parents died.

9 years since I found out about about the Dyferni Magic School.

8 years since I met him,
