5 4. Wolf In Sheep's Clothings!

Inside the infirmary, there were two voices. one was a little too loud and expressive, and the other seemed to be annoyed and exasperated.

"Do you think he will sue me?"

"No, he doesn't seem to belong to an elite family."

"Do you think he will hate me?"

"Yes."

"Do you want me as your friend?

"Not really."

"..."

Oh, the red-haired young man had tears in his eyes, trust him to get a friend good at making him feel better.

This was Luo Shao. He looked like a mean gangster with his red-hair and piercings. One would think he was a heartless bully, but he was nothing like that. He was the class-clown that loved to curry favor to get away from problems and misunderstandings.

On the other hand, his annoyed and impatient friend was Su Long. He was blonde-haired, handsome and a flirt on normal days. He was frequently seen on dates, teasing girls, and wearing a confident smirk on his lips.

"Oh, he's awake!" The red-haired guy, Luo Shao, was the first one to notice movement from the short boy lying in bed. He was filled with joy and relief.

That short boy lying in bed was Chen Jingyun.

In Luo Shao's eyes (and many other guys) they saw her as a midget. Tiny and cute. Nothing like a man.

They haven't seen anyone quite like her at school.

Fluttering her eyes open, looking like a scene out of a movie, Chen Jingyun gained consciousness.

She wasn't sure what she expected to see, but a young man's face with a big crazed smile wasn't one of them.

Holding back a scream that threatened to slip out of her lips, Chen Jingyun quickly gained awareness and blinked questioningly at that face.

The one who hovered over her was Luo Shao.

She first noticed his red undercut, then his sharp eyebrows, and then his rough features.

And she couldn't help but state three words in her head.

What. A. Gangster.

With a finger, she pushed the face of the young man and slowly sat up, her numbing pain clouded her senses. As she did this, she noticed another young man standing at the foot of her bed looking at her quietly with pursed lips.

She categorized him as a pretty boy.

"Hmm, what am I doing here?" She asked at the two strange boys as she raised a hand to her head. She felt like she was in a dream.

In response, they just flinched at her actions with guilt and regret.

Like a comedic duo, the gangster and the pretty boy glanced at each other, and another conversation seemed to start.

'You tell him!'

'No, you tell him!'

'Hmmph!'

'Hmmph!'

Neither of them stepped down, but time was running and Chen Jingyun's clueless look and glances weren't helping.

They had to tell her.

Almost in perfect unison, the two of them pointed at each other.

"He hit you with a ball!!"

For a second, Chen Jingyun only looked at them with disbelief as she archer her eyebrow.

Which one is it then?

The gangster and the pretty boy began to feel awkward as they lowered their fingers.

Sighing, Luo Shao, stepped up.

"It was an accident, we were playing around and the ball happened to hit you in the head."

"We're very sorry."

"If there is anything we could do to pay back the damage we've done," Su Long pitched in, "you can tell us."

Chen Jingyun still kept her silence as she watched the two boys explain themselves.

To pay back the damages? What in the world can they do? Chen Jingyun furrowed her eyebrows in questions.

Take away her numbing state of mind?

Seeing her expression, the two boys started thinking fast.

"Oh, we're quite rich!" Luo Shao snapped his fingers. "We could invite you to an extremely delicious meal!"

At this Chen Jingyun almost scoffed with amusement.

Invite her to eat an extremely delicious meal when her father was a five star Michelin chef?

Bold move, but it wasn't bad.

She liked Luo Shao's way of thinking.

Misinterpreting her expression, Su Long suggested an even more outrageous idea.

"Or, we could give you the money!"

In the end, it is money that fixes everything. Su Long assured himself with confidence.

However, an unexpected soft ha ha's rained down on them.

Money? She didn't lack that.

"You guys are too funny." Chen Jingyun smiled at them with amusement written all over her smile. "Did you two come out of a comedic skit?"

Rooted on their spot, the two guys didn't answer as they were deeply rooted in their spot looking at her enchanting smile. Stunned at how beautiful a laugh could sound and how entrancing a smile could be.

"Uh, hey?" Chen Jingyun tilted her head to the side in question, dropping her smile. "Is there something wrong?"

Shaking themselves out of their trance, the two guys cleared their throats.

"Yep, everything's good."

"Great!" Chen Jingyun beamed and then began to speak a little bit more cautiously. "Now, there indeed is something I could ask you guys for... Not money, not a luxurious meal..."

"Sure, ask away." Luo Shao answered while Su Long just shrugged in agreement.

They were clueless about her unexpected request.

At that moment, Chen Jingyun's innocent look turned into a devilish smile.

With a hook of her fingers, she sang.

"Pay. Me. With. Your, Bodies."

Luo Shao and Su Long's eyebrow shot upward. Who knew this frail-looking guy would turn out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing!

"Yo! What's the meaning of this?" Su Long was the first to explode while Luo Shao quickly held him back.

"He's just kidding! He's just kidding!" Luo Shao chanted frantically, but he himself turned to ask her.

"You are kidding, right?"

Chen Jingyun only laughed.

"Of course I'm kidding!" She wiped the fake tear from her eye. "That's not what I want!"

"Oh... don't make jokes like that. My friend here is quite sensitive." Luo Shao let go of Su Long and gave him sympathetic pats, healing a tiger's wounded heart. "He's too proud to lose face like that."

Su Long only huffed annoyed and looked away with indignity.

"I'm not sensitive..." He slipped in with a mumble, but no one heard him.

Looking at the two of them, Chen Jingyun could only continue smiling. This duo... was too entertaining.

She couldn't pass them up.

This time, Chen Jingyun seriously stated her one and only request.

With bright and sincere eyes, she answered honestly.

"Let's become brothers!"
