Chapter 1001

I was at our shop and was tending to passing customers. In a great building made with concreted blocks where a lot of various weaponry were being displayed, I, Greek, was attentively and happily standing and has my forearms lying on a desk where I could talk with passing customers.

On that day, at that very time, a fateful occurrence has indeed changed the world. A single piece of information has caused the crowded place to get drowned in darkness. A darkness that drained the energy of those who heard the Information. Yes... The information was so dark that the lively faces of our townsmen has became as hopeless as a man who was on the verge of death.

The crowded circle (circle-shaped plaza) has become totally quiet, it was as if, the place had been engulfed with darkness in which sounds couldn't pass through; as the people can't utter a single word.

Yeah, It was really shocking and depressing.

As for me, I was at our shop's reception desk when I heard the depressing information. My light-spirited body and smoothly calm easy lifestyle have caused me to get shocked really hard.

I and my family were in a kind of living which you could say 'a pretty wealthy family'. Due to it, we hardly felt the hardships of life. Needless to say, we never felt serious fear nor worries. We live our lives easily and are able to gain what we love to.

With money and a lot of possessions, one could say that we are living our lives happily and graciously. With the personality and habit of being able to help those who are in need, what else could make us happy?

Of course, we, in our family, are really happy. Because we give our all to become a gracious wealthy family without unsolved misunderstandings and conflicts in our town or in other towns.

But that time, on that day, when I was happily assisting the customers in our shop, a report from the kingdom had taken everything from us. That single spoken paragraph has indeed taken our every reason to be happy. Not only from us but for everyone. It could drain the life force of every living thing on earth!

While I was still perplexed, the crowd has started to run. Some are running and some are hurriedly walking, there are even some that are only walking at all. But looking at the expressions of their facades, only one thing was clear... Everyone was thinking about their families and their future.

I only knotted my eyebrows due to the feeling of having an uncertain future that awaits us. The town was just lively and happy but... When that information came, there was no doubt that the whole place had turned into chaos.

No one talked with each other. It was as if everyone had entered a race for survival. A world where only your family takes priority.

I then temporarily closed the shop and ran to my family upstairs.

I have one little sister and both of my parents.

They were all just as shocked as I am.

"What is going to happen?"

I asked with a weakened voice. After seeing the reactions of people outside, I felt like I had lost enough reason to survive. So that I nearly lost the power to talk.

"Heh."

A bright smile has opened my closing hope. That smile seemed to strengthen me. It confused me but it somehow helped me to stay strong.

It was Father who was smiling. It was as if, for him, the world was certain to be save.

"Uhm, why are you calm and are smiling?"

I laughed hesitantly while asking that question; For I can't get a hint why he seemed not affected.

"Huh? What are you talking about? I am just as shocked as you. But, what else can we do in a situation like this? We can't afford to lose hope midway. We may as well enjoy life despite this tragedy. (Gently smiled)"

"Ah... Yeah, of course we should."

As if... (I muttered)

After Father smiled gently at us, he turned his attention to the crowd through the window. His eyes were intently looking at the panicking crowds. It was as if he was saying, 'What are you panicking for? If the demon lord would be out of control, then so be it.' then after, he faces towards the horizon with a solemn gaze.

Heh, (I snickered) 'as if we could enjoy a life this complicated.'

It was my thought at the moment. Of course, as a gracious men, we enjoy life through peace and love. But if the situation goes this bad, I wonder how we could keep going.

"In a few days..."

I was facing downward as I heard my mother's words.

Without finishing what she was about to say, my father replied...

"Without a hero, this world was once a wasteland. That was the reason why there were adventurers that are being hired by kingdoms. To protect and regain territories. The world has forgotten that history, and now, it will return to it."

Mother who was also well informed about how great of a person the hero is, responds.

"Yeah, the world has relied on the hero so much. Normally this should not be happening, but, I wonder what happened..."

Yeah, I heard about it, about the apocalyptic history of this world. Where there was almost no light to be seen. Where the whole world feels like always winter.

Of course, the world will be in this chaos. After hearing the kingdom's announcement, it only makes sense for people to react that much.

....

Yeah, in that day (present-day of the story) when the news was everywhere to be heard, every person was devastated and was afraid. They were frustrated and were ashamed.

That day was indeed a turning point in the world's history.

Because it was on...

...that day, when the hero got defeated by the demon lord.

"Now you see?" she shouted in a tone that was somewhere between annoyance and disappointment. "You can’t outsmart Scrients! They’re the most intelligent beings across the two realms!" "You’re right," I muttered, averting my gaze with a solemn sigh. "I made a mistake. I was arrogant to think a mere human like me could fool them." —BOOM!! "...Wh-What was that?" "Hmm? I’m not sure. Maybe you should go and ask the most intelligent beings across the two realms. Oh wait! You can’t. I killed them all." --- My name is Samael Kaizer Theosbane. On the last day of high school, I got into a fight with a kid I used to bully. It was a stupid and pointless scuffle. And in the middle of it, I tripped and smacked my head on a rock. That’s when the memories came flooding in… Memories of a different life. Memories of another world. Suddenly, everything made a twisted kind of sense. I realized two things. First: I was inside a game I used to play in my past life. Second: I was a villain. A villain! Not the cool, mysterious, tragic kind either! No, I was the worst kind of cliché — a spoiled, insufferable, and arrogant young master. The sort you'd find in those poorly written fantasy stories. You know the type! The one everyone hates. The one the hero would beat into the ground to show everyone just how strong and righteous he is. Yeah. I was that guy! My fate was to be a stepping stone for the main characters, be manipulated by a Demon Prince, and die a dog's death. And the hero? The hero was the same kid I’d been bullying all this time. The one I just got into a fight with. He was supposed to be the savior of this damned world. A world teetering on the edge of destruction, beset by wars, calamities, and a grim future that only I knew. And waiting at the end of it all was the final antagonist. The unbeatable nightmare. …The Spirit King. But could I even make it to the end? Could I really survive in a game where defeat was the only certainty? A game that had now become my reality? “Ah, fuck it.” I had no idea if I could. But I sure as hell was going to try. Extorting extras, manipulating main characters, altering the story to my advantage, stealing the hero’s cheat items, killing villains long before they could become threats — nothing was beneath me. Would the main characters be affected by my actions? Excellent! Would the story change? Even better! All I cared about was me. My survival. My life. My choices. “I’ll live this life with no regrets.” ...But as I soon discovered, fate wasn't so easily changed. And the price of rewriting your destiny was steep. ========== Discord Server: https://discord.gg/VjFQtDUaTR

Level 1 to Infinity: My Bloodline Is the Ultimate Cheat!

They shattered his life. Now, he’ll break the world. Ethan had it all, until his best friend and the woman he loved betrayed him, leaving him crippled and forgotten. Three years of suffering later, he clawed his way to one final, desperate act… and the universe answered. A hidden quest. A second chance. A return to the moment everything began. Now, Ethan is back, on the eve of Ethereal’s launch, the world’s first fully immersive VR game and the battlefield where legends are forged. Last time, he played fair. This time? He’s armed with years of knowledge: every exploit, every secret quest, every broken mechanic that will let him climb straight to the top. But when he logs in, something is off. The system forces him into an unwanted class—Druid, the game’s biggest joke. The kind of class people pick as a dare and regret immediately. Yet as Ethan digs deeper, the truth shakes him. [Congratulations! You have unlocked the Divine Bloodline: King of Elves!] Ethan stared at the screen, unblinking. “…The hell?” The Druid class was a jack-of-all-trades, master of none—a scattered mess of abilities that mimicked other classes but never truly excelled. Their bear form lacked the raw defense of a proper tank. Their panther form was weaker than a rogue. Their healing fell short of a priest, and their magic couldn’t compare to a mage’s devastating spells. Most players abandoned the class early, realizing they could never compete at the highest level. And yet, Ethan’s stats are off the charts. His talents are absurd. His potential is beyond anything he’s ever seen. The system has given him something no other Druid ever had—a divine bloodline, legendary abilities, and a growth rate that defies logic. If Druids were meant to be weak, then Ethan was the exception that would rewrite history. He’s not just here to reclaim his throne. He’s here to take everything. Factions will rise. Empires will fall. The strongest will thrive, and the weak will perish. And the ones who betrayed him? They won’t live to do it again.
