Changes I brought to the novel

I am taking some liberties with the original work, especially with the rules. Concerning the Teams, there will be 17, just like in the original work, counting Celestial and Devil. But on some other aspects, like Return, I have made some changes.

To start off, the players don't have the possibility to come back to the real world, because I found that option dumb as it not only made it very hard to believe no one ever found anything about God's Game, but also because I didn't feel like it suited the novel. Also, another change I made was that when the players do come back to mission worlds, they are no longer capable of earning Points and Rank Rewards, and they also aren't able to come back as many times as they want between two missions.

I found this to be stupendously stupid, for reasons I already half explained. Because the logical move would be to do exactly what the MC wanted to do, to only go in the missions worlds one day at a time, always leaving the players a way out of any danger they might face. Also, being able to earn points when returning makes the missions feel completely irrelevant.

Why would any character risk their lives to complete side missions in an environment they have no control whatsoever upon (missions) when they could just do the bare minimum to pass the mission, and then return to complete the side missions in a much safer, more controlled environment?

Besides, there's also the fact that good players like the MC could snowball hard between two missions. Another original feature of this story which I haven't revealed, so spoiler but it's not that important, but the 7 Men Difficulty missions are actually important, because they are supposed to be the foundation of every team. Every team has had a 7 Men Mission, and each 7 men Mission takes place within a world filled with opportunities.

For example, Skyrim, DC, Marvel, that kind of world where even the weakest has a chance to reach incredible heights with the right knowledge and determination. And that's why I couldn't have the character be able to earn Points when returning.

Can you imagine if MC got Points for every mission he completed in Skyrim? Or if another character did the same in any similar world? By the time of the second mission, they would already be strong enough to solo most missions, so that's why I had to make changes.

From there, I hesitated between not giving anything while in the Return, and giving out enhancements players couldn't find within the shop. As you may have seen with the Fists of Randagulf, I went with the second.

Honestly, this is a decision I can still rather easily change, by simply editing the chapter to say the gauntlets happened to be within the chest next to the coffin, or the Draugr was wearing them, but while I received some criticism on my decision to make this change, I still think it was the right thing to do.

I do feel like giving some more information about it will help, however. As I explained earlier, there is no way I am implementing the Points rewards back in the Returns, because the novel would become a Skyrim fanfiction real quick, apart from the other problems I pointed out. But don't worry about the reward he got, as OP as it might seem.

One important concept within Terror Infinity that I decided to keep was that opportunity comes with danger. Two people doing the same thing might earn very different rewards. I will have to spoil a bit here, but for example, if any of the team members had killed the Imperial Soldiers, they would have earned more Points than Alex for the kills. And this carries over to Returns as well.

If Alex had A or S Rank enhancements, he wouldn't have received any kind of reward from completing Bleak Falls Barrow. And had he somehow managed to complete it without a single enhancement, he would have received several Daedric Artefacts or something of a corresponding value.

Another thing to keep in mind is how 'ratings' are calculated within God's Game. To calculate the strength of a contestant, God will take every enhancement they have into account, as well as how many Genetic Constraints they have unlocked. However, that doesn't mean it takes everything into account, or no one would be able to get anything beyond a B Rank Reward.

One thing that isn't accounted for is techniques. It goes from martial techniques, to energy manipulation. To take Alex's enhancements for example, God takes the Stats granted by the Super Soldier Serum into account, but every combat technique Alex might learn thanks to this enhancement will not be counted.

In the same fashion, the Force actually has a rather low rating within God's game. For Alex, God will calculate the raw connection he has to the Force, but every skill he learns by himself, rather than directly buying them from the shop, won't be counted.

For example, Force Lightning. He hasn't learned it yet, and if he wants, he can buy it directly from God and receive a near perfect mastery of the skill. But then it will be counted by God. If he learns it on his own, however, it will have a nearly negligible impact on his rating.

The final component of a rating is one's results. This counts for both the team and the individual player, as the better they do within missions and returns, the more their rating will climb. So for Alex, he got a great reward because of his relatively low rating, but getting that equipment was greatly increased.

And that's why Alexander got something as broken as an equipment that improves stats with percentages.

So that's about it about the changes regarding the Return option. These are not the only changes I have brought to the work, there is also the worlds, kinda, as the players are now able to go to any kind of fictional universe, no matter the medium, although the original work had rewards from Anime and Books, so I don't see any reason why teams shouldn't be able to go into these.

Also, I changed the Genetic Constraints. Well, a little. The first two are the same as within the original novel, but from the third one things change. As a reminder:

First Genetic Constraint unlocks the instincts hidden within everyone's DNA, which is how Alex becomes so good of a fighter this quick.

Second Genetic Constraint unlocks the limits on one's muscles, and allows one to use all the strength their body can offer. They are capable of controlling 90% of their body's function, with only the brain remaining out of reach.

Third Genetic Constraint unlocks control over the brain, and that's the one I changed the most. In the original work, this merely allowed one to emulate someone else's thinking, which is utter garbage and I decided to change. You will have to discover it by yourself, but I didn't completely change it as it is still about reaching full control over the brain.

Fourth genetic Constraint is about becoming capable of manipulating one's DNA, and alter one's genetic enhancements. Once again, I brought some changes. With this, the characters' enhancements no longer mattered, and I think that's when Terror Infinity lost its soul. Whether one was a Legendary Super Saiyan or an East Blue Pirate didn't matter, all that mattered was whether one opened the Fourth Genetic Constraint.

Fifth Genetic Constraint supposedly allows the user to manipulate energy to create new powers or merge already created ones, but I'm not too sure about this one as I never finished Terror Infinity. But again, this will be changed. I intend for enhancements to matter until the very end.

I also brought some changes to the Team Leader, and their powers. I won't say much since it would be too much spoiler, but to warn you in advance, there is no longer the perk of advancing one full Genetic Constraint through becoming a Team Leader, because I always felt that was unearned, and didn't like it.

Anyway, I already spoiled more than I would have liked, so this is about everything I can tell you.
