5 Ch.5 It's just like riding a bike

There must be one fooked up ROB out there that put me here, giving me a new body, and scrambling my brain. Weird part is I'm not even an amnesiac, I remember my childhood, the peoples faces, places I've been, thing I've watched and read but I just can't seem to remember my name and mom's name even my dog... But I know who Robert Downey Jr. is and he is definitely Ironman.

But these thoughts aren't the only things that's passing thru my head right now, a flying hammer and some zombie chuncks just almost did me the favor of clearing my head literally.

After the whole metalic clang, JD and Rain stumbled upon the local zombie population and then guns went blazing. Jie and Zheng showing off their skills, killing zombies left and right. One ordered to find a way out of there and somehow the other mercs did but that was a wrong move. After forcing the laboratory door open, zombies just grabbed the nearest merc and well they are painting the town red, getting over the initial shock.

One shouted. "Back to the Red Queen's room! Back there!" going for an exit at stage right, Jie and Zheng covered our rear while One lead us out of there. I stuck to One's six like glue, taking the chance to look behind me. I could spot Jie and the rest making a mess out of the zombies after them, when I reached the control room. I drop behind the consoles and aim my gun at the entrance ready fire, encase any zombie make its way in. Not long after I got into position Jie and the rest made it in.Then with a loud bang, the door was shut and the zombies were blocked outside.

Everyone suddenly dropped to the floor. Aside from Jie, they were panting heavily, grasping for air. Even when their lungs were filled with air, the terror kept them breathing heavily. It took a while for the three to calm down."That was not bad." Jie put his gun back on his waist and laughed at Zheng.

Confused Zheng ask, "What do you mean?"Jie turned around to look at the mercs. They were looking at the corpses, chunks... in that laser corridor. Then he said in a low voice. "The most dangerous time for a newbie is usually the first movie. Mentality is the most important. First you have to understand your situation. I have seen many people, thinking this was some illusion or a tv program so they died early. But the three of you quickly adjusted your mentalities. Especially you and Lan(so that's her name). You were the best out of all the newbies I met. Not only did you adjusted your mentality quickly but also overcame your fears."

Zheng said in a doubtful tone,"Yeah, what about that kid?" pointing at me. Jie didn't even turn to face me but pointed my way saying, "That kid is not right in the head!" that's when I made my protest known saying,"Hey!! I take offense to that. I prefer to be called Cultured!" Lan and Zheng just shook their heads, while the high school kid gave me a look of pity.

Jie just continue his spill and I just stop listening, sulking on my spot(That's right this console and me are tight now. So hence this is my spot) done with the attempt to build my nest while sulking. Someone knocked on the door. Alice's voice came from outside the room. "Open the door. Hurry!"

The mercenaries came over, and Jie opened a crack for Alice and Matt to get in.One asked them. "How is it outside? Can we go back the way we came?"Alice shook her head, "They are all over the place."Everyone fell to a silence. Kaplan broke down. "We can't escape. There's no other path in the Red Queen's room. We're done!"Then Spence said, "Couldn't we stay here? Once the outside found out we are missing, they will send backups. I think we're safe here. I don't want to go out and fight those undeads."But the mercenaries looked embarrassed, Spence asked in curiosity, "I said something wrong?"Kaplan replied, "There probably isn't anymore backups."Spence was irritated and grabbed his collar. "What do you mean no backups?"One sighed, "Our order was to bring back the Red Queen's main circuit and isolate the Hive from the outside. Remember the path that goes from the building to the Hive? If we're not back there by three hours, the gate will shut, thus isolating the Hive. Fuck the corporation, I understand why we received such orders."

"I knew, I should have gotten that dental plan before accepting this job" adding my 2 cents, which earn me a pat in back by Rain, who, I might add was not bleeding from a zombie bite.(Hey, Where's my hidden bonus reward or something?) She added saying(" Never change trainee, never change") giving her a nice guy smile saying ("Yes Ma'am") she then backed up a little, goosebumbs all over her body regreting the encouragement given. Recovering from the wierd vibe she got, Rain said, "This is the safest way to keep the secret of their research. If we all die down here then no one will leak anything out." People were silent, then Spence got more irritated. "Why are you telling me this now? Why didn't you say anything before everything went to shit?"

Then Alice intervened, "Stop arguing. Let's just find a way out. We will first find a way out of this room." She picked up the Red Queen's main circuit and went into the Red Queen's room. "What're you doing." One asked."Turn her back on."

As the mercenaries went away(Me still in my spot), Zheng asked Jie. "Aren't we going to take a look?" "What is there to look at? It's not like you haven't seen the movie. You're better off saving your stamina here and kill a few more zombies later." Glasses girl touched her forehead. "Oh right, Jie, I have a question. How are we going to go back to God's place? Does it shine a light on you? We slowly fade away? Or a path appear in front of us?" And as they start to do the show and tell again. I thought back how this body reacted and how I was able to perform those stunts I pulled, from a panting mess to using a knife like Lee Christmas. Guess I have to stumble a bit before I start sprinting, Yeah just like riding a bike and yeah this is now my new ride and I make sure it's for keeps.
