4 Ch.4 Oh what now?

There's always this point in our lives that brings as back to the things we could have done diffirently given the chance. There are times walking thru a door smiling after having such introspection is not something that could be undone. Specially when the room you walk into just had one of those truamatic events and people are puking their guts out..

2 minute ago...

On the other side of the doors I could vaguely hear One said coldly, "I was suspicious of you from the beginning. Even though your identities were registered in the corporation, but you don't seem like a security operative. And now you're trying to stop us from rebooting the Red Queen? Ok, Zheng, come with us." and this is where I choose to come in... I could feel cold sweat trickle down my back as their heads snapped at my direction with such intense glares.

I could only do a salute and say "A quarter of the perimeter is secure and the others have found no survirors as of yet, Sir!"(The one thing I'm proud of in my short life is how I could put on a face and roll with the awkward situations I'm constantly put in, being a compulsive liar... I tend to make things up when I'm put on the spot.) One just nods back and barks at me saying "Keep on guard and report if anything comes up!" I saluted and made my way out again.

(How did I ended up in that situation again? Ah that's right that's 'cause I was snoopin' around for loot and decieded to check on the rest of the group. I can only blame myself for being nosey. )

As I left the room full of confused and dumb founded people, other than One(bet he just rolled with it and 'cause doesn't want to break his tough guy vibe.) A sigh left my mouth muttering, "I just dodge a bullet there". This was the scene where merc chucks are gonna be everywhere and Zheng saves One while recieving his juicy side quest reward, MC's and their plot armor...

Walking back to wards the other two mercs I said

"Shyte just got real in there, some dude tried run..." snapping to face me guns aimed they looked at me rolling their eyes while the female merc commented "I just wish, I could shoot your ass and be done with you." the other merc smirked and said "Keep point trainee we're still on mission."

Now that I think about it, I was surprised when this guy pulled me back when One ordered the rest to follow... Maybe he really thinks I'm a trainee or something. He even gave me his side arm, and because of that I just might try to save you and maybe also learn your name merc guy.

We scoped the area a couple of times and at the last lap, there it was, our first zombie. Wearing a lab coat seemingly harmless inching its way towards us, this is the part we should bring out our knife and plant it on it's skull(Not guns they draw in more zombies, don't you people watch zombie flicks) but nooo... the female merc just put her left arm out trying to plicate the zombie saying " Ma'am, I need you stay where you are, and answer a few questions to confirm your identity. Then, maybe we could get you some help!" well she wasn't totally bonkers to at least still point the gun on her right hand at the zombie.

While this little skit was going on I was just a step besides the female merc. And when I saw the zombie about to lunge at her hand, that's when I swiftly planted my knife on the zombies forehead, shocked of what I just did and how I did it, they pointed their guns at me. I quickly raised my hands and said "She was about to lunge at you and check this out, she too pale, she has a blue-ish tint on her face. She might have caught something." (yeah the T-virus!!!)

Lowwering their guns but still keeping vigilant, the female merc said "Your pretty keen for a trainee. thanks" "Not a problem." I replied, she then spoke up to her radio informing One of the situation. And him informing us of our loses...there goes the medic!

We tried to secure the peremeter till, One and the others met up with us. The female merc now known, as Rain reported, "Sir, we found a survivor. But she's gone mad. She almost bit me..." One frowned, "So you planted a knife on her forehead?" Rain shouted in reply, "Sir, but she's gone mad! and it was the trainee. He's pretty quick for goffball."

One walked over to the pool of blood, where a zombie with a knife handle sticking on its forehead lay flat. The blood was already half solidified. This definitely wasn't like fresh blood. He's feeling a bad premonition. One stood up and shouted, "We leave immediately!" Rain felt strange and asked, "Sir? Isn't our order to wait here for backup after we get the Red Queen's main circuit?" One shook his head, "There's no more backup. Prepare to leave!"

I heard Jie muttered something to One but couldn't make it out, though glasses girl clearly heard.

Glasses girl walked over to Jie and asked, "You just reminded them, aren't you afraid of changing the plot?"Jie laughed, "You guys are the fearless ones. You changed the plot as a newbie and survived. Look at your watch, One's name is not there anymore."

I take a gander at the watch like the others, and it was blank on the place where One's name used to be. Jie sneered at us, "We're free to move from now on. Remember you can do anything as long as it means surviving."He thought for a moment and added, "If I am at your position, with the lack of stamina, reaction speed, and weapons, I would follow the group back to the Red Queen's room. At least you will be safe for a little longer." And they we're back at pointlessly talking about stuff I don't give a cent about.

While they were at it, a metallic sound came from afar. Rain and JD (the merc guys name) moved over cautiously. After a few steps, a man wearing a white lab coat came out from the corner. A few people lumber and stumble behind him. JD pointed at them. "Stop there! Otherwise I will open fire!" These "people" obviously wouldn't stop there. They were already infected with the T virus. Soon after, numerous people lumbering out from all sides of the room. Some were in uniforms and some in lab coats. Some of them had started rotting, and there were some with totally deformed legs. But then I saw Zheng staring at the lights above the licker's chambers, instead of green they were now red... Oh fook what now?
