Ch.116 Fish'n Chips = Power up!

A week has gone by, since Kris was brought into the Malbury Hospital.

Things have been becoming monotonous from doing chores, group sessions with his peer group a.k.a. the broken kids, to exploring the grounds and exercising in the mornings to push the limits of his abilities.

Through out the passed week there were some major developments here and there. One being that the relations within his peer group was developing well from his side.

He had formed a sort of friendship with the guys,and a respectable relationship with the girls.

A simple exchange of Hi's and Hello's here, with the other 3 players, and such.

Though the others are getting along~ish... Kris could only describe it as such, this is due to the increasing friction between Allyana, and Dani. Which result in a sort of rift, as of now they could not be left alone in a room without barbed words being thrown at each other.

Which would sometimes cause Kris to feel that ominous feeling his been having, what's weird is ever since he got this feeling some of them have been experiencing nightmares.

Which would cause some to be sleep deprived, and cranky. Making their group sessions more angsty than usual. This is specially true for Illyana and Roberto.

Dr.Reyes attributed this to their subconscious trying to sort out their trauma by giving them the chance to come terms with it in their dreams.

She likes to think we are making progress but nobody is buying it so far. Which cause some to not take the program seriously.

On the side note...

Kris had the chance to have a one on one session with the doctor with in the week. Blood samples were taken, and tests were done. And they figured out quite a bit.

One is that, Kris could lift 1000lbs at max and hold it up for 30 mins. He would be winded a little, but after a little rest he could do it again, the best thing is it seems he is improving.

He could run 100meters in just 3.19 seconds, and not be winded after. He could run 70mhp and maintain it for 3hrs but he'll be dead tired by then.

He heals 3 times faster than an ordinary human, though they haven't tried if he could regenerate a limb... But, Kris new he can't.

Since he wasn't able to integrate this ability into his new body, everything the results are showing so far are the natural gifts of his superior breeding.

Though Dr.Reyes is eager to find out more about his regenerative abilities, she hasn't talked about it with Kris.

Aside from this, the doctor hasn't figure out how Kris allegedly survive a point blank encounter with a bomb.

Which he told the doctor that he can't remember doing.

Well, on another note Dani haven't talked to Rahne since that time in the cafeteria. But, she does hangout with her wolf form.

'Guess she still doesn't know that Rahne could turn into a wolf.'

Which is sad for Rahne since she's been pet zoned for now. But, she's slowly breaking down some walls in the little indian girls heart.

That night after a whole week of constant stress, the group had enough. So, they decide to unwind a little.

How would a group of teens accomplish this? Well, by getting rid of the only adult supervision they have, and raiding the food locker to binge eat on comfort food.

Rahne had inform the group that the doctor always drinks tea at a specific time in the evening. Illyana then contributes by telling them where the doctor places some of the sleeping meds she gave them when they couldn't sleep the past days.

When they all heard that, all their gazes landed on Kris who in the past week demonstrated his ability to sneak up on everybody without them noticing, even Rahne.

Ever since breaking free from the systems control, Kris's personality gained a sort of equilibrium. And some of his earlier traits started resurfacing, like his uncanny ability to be easily ignored.

Which led the group to believe that this is one of his mutations. So, by default he would be perfect in order to accomplish this mission.

Kris could only sigh at this thinking,'I wonder what will their reaction be, if they found out that I have a spell that allows me to become invisible.'

"Ok, I'll do it but somebody better cook me some fish'n chips with tartar sauce, or else getting caught won't be worth it."

"Yey!" was the only response he got from the group.

'What a bunch of kids.' Kris thought.

That evening, Kris placed some drugs on the doctors tea by using his invisibility spell, and sneaking in the clueless doctors office.

When the doctor was well into her cup of tea, she finally dozed off.

And the party began, a buffy the vampire slayer marathon was put on the TV, some played pool and others just went wild on the food.

Even the 3 other players were invited, so far they really think they are in the real world. But was abducted by people telling them they were mutants.

So far the doctor hasn't confirmed or denied that they are indeed mutants but, She tells the others that they're simply unaware of their power.

Which they bought, what could they do? Kris haven't explained anything to them and they were all newbies. They had to figure things out for themselves. Plus none of them had ever watched this movie or know any of the actors in this movie...

Which surprised Kris since out of the 6 actors, 3 of them are pretty famous.

Sam's actor is from Stranger things, Rahne's no other than Arya Stark from GOT, and Illaya's played the lead role in the movie Emma.

Kris just this thought at the back of his mind for now, since everyone is having fun. And those fish and chips won't eat themselves.

When everyone have finally settled down a bit, Dani took this chance to make her entrance.

Which Illyana didn't really like, she thinks that by not joining the rest when they were bonding and having fun... Dani is making everyone feel that she's better than the rest.

So, to vent her anger she threw one of her barbed comments at the girl.

Illyana said," Hey, Standing Rock. You want a buffalo wing? You people love buffalo, don't you?"

Sam tried to break them up by saying,"Jeez, Illya, will you just leave her alone?"

Dani just looked at Sam, and looked back to Illyana,"No. It's okay. Standing Rock. That's a good one. More original than Pocahontas. That was huge in fifth grade."

Kris minded his own business still finishing the last of his comfort meal.

While he was binge eating, the little Indian girl walked up to the blonde until they were inches from each other.

Dani then tells Illyana in a soft threatening voice,"You don't scare me. My dad told me about b*tches like you."

Illyana upset at being called as such responded,"Oh. Well, here. Why don't you show us on the puppet where daddy touched you?" implying that Dani's dependence towards her Dad is a little too much.

Dani grabs Illyana's puppet, Lockheed, out of her hand in the attempt to get back at the blonde where it would hurt her.

And being that the sock puppet is her imaginary friend, Dani saw this as the mean girl's weakness.

Illyana shocked at Dani's action of taking her friend hostage, could only call on its name,"Lockheed!"

Sam was now about to intervene as they began to cross some lines they might regret,"Hey, guys, come on!" He said while going in between the two.

Dani still gripping the puppet in her hand said,

"You keep my father's name out of your mouth, b**ch!"

"You don't know anything about me."

Illyana then retorts pushing Sam aside as she walked up to Dani saying,"Do you know anything? Sixteen years-old and doesn't even know her power. Seems like that mutant period should've kicked in by now."

The blonde then attempted to get her friend back. But, she accedentally shoved the smaller girl.

Causing Rahne to intervene this time saying,"Leave her alone."

Illyana somewhat surprised by the rescue attempt, decided force is needed to get her friend back,"I'm helping her. This is therapy!"

She said and push Dani against the wall to try and grab the puppet off her hands.

But this just end up hurting Dani as her head gets knocked on the wall.

So, when Illyana came closer to get Lockheed back. Dani smashed her forehead on Illyana's nose, causing her to stumble back a few steps.

When the blonde checked herself, she saw that the headbutt didn't reach her nose but gave her a bloody lip.

Wanting to finish this already she pulled out her soul sword and swang it overhead intending to cleave Dani in half.

When the sword was about to reach the little indian girl, Kris who was still holding some deep fried fish dipped in tartar sauce on his right hand.

Appeared in front of her and caught the sword with his left middle, and fore finger.

Everyone was shocked at this including Dr. Reyes who just came in, to check on the ruckus they caused.

When she broke out of her shock, she reprimanded Illyana saying,"You know the rules. No powers in here. And definitely no fighting."

Illyana simply responded,"Sorry, Doctor. I thought maybe Dani was invincible. Just wanted to see if I was right. Turns out Kris here has that ability."

Kris just shrugged, and popped the last bite of the fish fellet to his mouth.

This broke the tension in the room, and Illyana dematerialized her soul sword.

"Never underestimate the power of a good fish'n chips with a killer tartar sauce." Said Kris with a grin.
