110 Ch.110 That escalated quickly?!
Snapping out of his thoughts, Kris hurried along with Jill to look out the clock tower.
What he saw confused him... then he realized that since Team China didn't get to ride the helicopter.
It was only logical that they pass thru this clock tower since it is directly in the way towards Raven's Gate Bridge.
So, it was no coincidence that this place would be where Team Devil caught up with Zheng's group.
But, what really confused him was why is the Nemesis fighting Team Devil?
Kris wasn't able to continue observing, because Jill have already ran down the clock tower to help the other movie characters escape the wreckage they call a car.
[Zheng POV]
Some time after the Umbrella building exploded, the van they were on ran out of gas. So they abandoned it, and look for a new mode of transport.
Upon their search they stumbled upon a wrecked Umbrella helicopter, and the Nemesis#2 along with it.
Zheng, Yinkong, and Alice fought it for a while until Lan was able to establish a mental connection with it. She helped the Nemesis#2 gain control over its own body and mind from its former destructive programming.
So, once again the power of friendship prevailed, and they were reunited with One. Who still feel indebted to Zheng for saving him before; and now to Lan from saving him from suffering the fate of a puppet.
Now, with an additional companion. They found an abandoned station wagon with a full tank of gas, and a pick up truck that could carry One along with them.
LJ, Carlos, Terri, Alice, and Angela rode the family car. While Zheng, Yinkong, Lan, and the Nemesis rode on the pick up truck.
The truck led the way smashing all the troublesome zombies along the way, with the help of One they had no problems driving across the city.
Until they were spotted by Team Devil, Lan was able to warn Zheng about the incoming enemy. But, since they were being pursued by air... Team Devil caught up to them right away.
Zheng hurriedly pulled out the gauss rifle he got from Zero and went to the back of the pick up truck. Where he explained to One the situation they were in.
One who was willing to help also shouldered his rocket launcher and minigun to fend off the enemy.
Zheng was the first to shoot down the sky stick Francis and Amy was on. But he wasn't able to kill them off, yet he did reduced Francis's defensive barrier by 80% as he was still protecting the comatose Amy.
One then assisted him by firing a rocket at Devil Zheng, which he blocked by using the flat part of his sword.
The resulting explosion racked all the buildings around them. But, Devil Zheng remained unharmed.
After tanking the rocket Devil Zheng slashed towards the pick up truck sending a wave of black flame at it.
Which they were able to dodge due to Yinkong's driving. But the station wagon wasn't so lucky, when the black flame hit the pavement behind them and exploded.
LJ who was driving lost control of the car and hit a near by store front wrecking the car, just a block away from the clock tower.
[Devil Zheng POV]
Hours ago...
"Xuan, I want you to go on ahead and capture those of team china located on the other side of the check point. Use the boosters for the sky sticks, if you must." ordered Devil Zheng.
"Understood, since the Umbrella building blew up, and their are no more active Umbrella agents within the city. The company will go on a worse case scenario protocol and will reinitiate the nuking of the city as a last resort." Xuan said as he boarded the sky stick, follow by Yanwei, and Frodo.
Back with Kris...
He couldn't help but curse Jill for her heroics, as he ran after her.
When he got out of the clock tower Zheng was already off fighting Techoi,the muay thai fighter and Francis, the druid shapeshifter and also Amy's lover.
Francis was really going at it with Zheng due to the lingering anger at what happend to Amy, who was now brain dead.
The moment Kris ran out on the streets his danger sense went wild as he did a front roll towards a parked car nearby.
A series of gun shots then hit the spot he was on before, breaking the pavement.
Kris couldn't help but curse,"Shyte, their sniper is on to me. I need to pin point his location and get rid of him or else he'll be able to pick us off one by one."
He then took out his gun and closed his eyes spreading his senses around him bit by bit.
He was able to sense, Zheng's battle far a head, Yinkong's one on one with her brother and even the efforts of Jill, Alice and Carlos to free LJ and Terri from the flipped up car.
He began to extend his senses further and further until he caught the sniper's figure in the 20th floor of a building, crouching by a broken window.
When he was able to lock on to Richard, the sniper of Team Devil, he didn't even bothered aimming and fired 6 shots in the opposite direction.
Using his trained TK he guided the bullets around the alley, up the building, thru another broken window behind Richard, and released the speeding bullets from his control, when it was on its way to the back of the unsuspecting sniper's head.
6 consecutive shots slammed unto the barrier generated by his defensive item. When the sixth, and final bullet smashed against his defenses, the barrier finally broke.
Richard could only sigh in relief and dock behind some tables for cover.
But unbeknownst to him a 7th bullet came from an unexpected angle and shot him thru the ear, piercing thru the other side.
Due to his over confidence and complacent attitude Richard didn't even think that somebody like Kris existed in Team China, that he didn't even get the chance to enter the unlock state.
With a shooting accuracy akin to shooting in point blank range, Kris's ability is as fearsome as the needle user from Team India. Only, he did it all by himself without any assistance.
"One member killed. Team Devil minus one point.
Team China 1 point; Team Devil -1 point. Members with negative points at the end of the movie will be erased."
When the kill notification came in, Devil Zheng who was observing the battlefield gritted his teeth.
They have been experiencing multiple disadvantages, since they entered this movie which lost him the mood to play with his prey further, and this was the last straw that broke the camels back.
"One member killed. Team Devil minus one point.
Team China 2 points; Team Devil -2 points. Members with negative points at the end of the movie will be erased."
The fact that not a few seconds after the other notification another one rang this time with the courtesy of Zheng finally killing Francis.
Devil Zheng finally decided to eat his own words, and stop playing with Team China.
He took out his communicator, and called Xuan saying,"Xuan change of plans, there's no more playing around kill all of the members of Team China on your end."
After a couple of seconds later multiple notifications rang until the last one.
"One member killed. Team China minus one point. Team China -2 points; Team Devil 2 points. Members with negative points at the end of the movie will be erased."
Devil Zheng with a smile on his lips, rushed towards Kris who was now helping the movie characters escape.
When Kris saw that the movie characters have fled, he turned his head to look back at the battlefield.
What greeted him was the form of Devil Zheng, swooping down at him like a bird of prey.
Kris's face immediately fell, the cold feeling he felt when facing a bullet head on came over him once again.
And, slowly bit by bit this feeling is loosening the hold of the skill focus state of mind on his conscious thoughts, making him more and more feral.
When he pulled out his lightsaber, and clashed with Devil Zheng's black flaming sword, he was no longer the same Kris as before.
But, a bulked up version of Kris more akin to sabretooth than before. Kris had finally entered the 2nd stage of the unlocked state.
Driven by pure feral instinct, led by a primal fear for a much fiercer predator than himself.
Kris pressed on to face a blood thirsty demon covered in black flames, who was giving him a manic grin.
Zheng who was battling Techoi and the boxer himself couldn't help but be stunned by the aura the two apex predators were unleashing.
Even the two assassins locked in mortal combat stood still looking at the clash of titans in the distance.
But in the end the results were evident. As the locked blades began to bury themselves on Kris shoulder.
Devil Zheng's grin grew wider, and wider pushing Kris back inch by inch. Until, he manage to lopped off Kris's left arm from the shoulder.
Kris's healing factor wasn't enough to heal his wounds due to the black flames eating at his shoulder. He grimaced as he managed to kick off the ground and create some distance between him and Devil Zheng.
As soon as he landed, he cleaved off the burning portion of his shoulder to stop the black flames from consuming him.
Which was the fate of his lopped off arm that was nothing more than a pile of ash on the ground at this moment.
He was now visibly healing but not fast enough as Devil Zheng lunge at him again.
With a mighty swing, the demon struck him at full force intending to end the fight.
But this time by instinct he was able to create a multi layer bubble that block the flaming sword from injuring him. But it was enough to protect him from the immense momentum which carried him across a substantial distance.
Kris was dazed and disoriented by the last attack
Seeing that did not kill him yet Devil Zheng made it his duty to test how much damage Kris could take before he dies.
He was drag across pavement, stomped, thrown across a distance, kick up into the air, thrown back into the ground, slashed, punched, burnt, hit by sand storm and finally crushed by a car.
But Kris kept standing back up. Which frankly pissed Devil Zheng off, it was as if Kris was a roach that keep on moving even without his head.
Their battle or better call it the one sided beating took them all over the place, without them realizing they were now just a couple of meters away from the blockade that Umbrella put up.
In the distance the iron doors being opened as Xuan, and Yanwei led the movie characters out the city as Dr.Ashford greeted them. But he could also see the pitiful state of Terri's body on the ground devoid of clothes, and the headless corpse of what must have been Frodo.
'So, things still happened like in the OG novel. Sorry Terri, I couldn't change your fate in the end.
Kris who was now back to his usual state of mind, looked on as Team Devil gather around his dying form to mock him.
Zhao ZhuiKong, Yinkong's brother even threw, Yinkong, and Zheng's head at him while giving him a creepy smile. That reminded him of a kid eager to show his parents the hand painting he made in school that day.
With only one eye as half his face was gone along with the entire left side of his body... Kris new his team just got wiped out.
The only good thing was that they didn't harm Jill as their mission concern her as well.
With his last few breaths he watched the backs of Team Devil as they go under a beam of light. As they were fading from existance, Devil Zheng gave Kris one last Fook You.
But, this was something he would regret for the rest of his life... As a green flash slice pass his out stretched hand cutting it off.
Shearpike who had remained invicible this whole time, had made its move. One of Kris's objective in this movie was the spacial ring that Devil Zheng had, since it contains the book of the Dead. Which would allow him to revive his comrades.
Which means even after all the effort they spent killing members of team Devil they could still be brought back to life just like that. So, they would have gone all the trouble for nothing.
Shearpike caught the cut off limb and dashed back after one fluid movement which even caught Devil Zheng off guard.
Kris took his last breath with the stunned face of the Demon burnt in his cornea. His eye dimmed as darkness took him. But, not before the bomb he left inside Yanwei went of taking some of the member of Team Devil with her.
Just when Devil Zheng was engulfed by the explosion, they disappeared.

Team Battle Reward: 1000 Points. This reward is only given to players that have not ended in a Negative Score.
SIDE QUEST: Bonus Points.
*Orientation - The first Player to explain to the New Players the inner workings of Missions, Exchanges, and how to return home. 100 Points
*Nemesis - Defeating the Nemesis. Rewards 4000 Points and two C rank rewards. Rewards every other Player 2000 Points and D rank reward.
*Enemy Team KILL - Killing a normal member of another team. Awards 2000 Points and C rank reward.
*GC Enemy KILL - Killing a member of another team who has unlocked the Genetic Constraint. Awards 7000 points and B rank reward.
*Total KILL - The killing of the entire enemy team, not counting Penalty 'D-Zero'. Every member will be awarded a C rank reward.
PENALTIES: Negative Points/Death.
1. New Players - Negative 1000 for a Player killing a Newbie Player of their own team. A New Player is a New Player till they start their second Mission.
2. Spoiler - Negative 10 points per Sentence.
3. D-ZERO Version 2 - Any player with 0 or negative points at the end of a mission, after all calculations are finished, will be killed, no exception. Those unable to pay a D rank reward for failing the Main Quest will be killed.
4. Point CASUALTIES - Killing a member of the other team will give your team Positive 1 Point. The death of an ally team member will give your team Negative 1 Point. At the end of the mission these points will be multiplied by 2000 and every living team member will be awarded or deducted points equal to the factored score.
