14 Dark Universe I

Tie Ta was sitting in his living room as the team watched him speak to GOD. Tie Ta was currently changing the Next Mission from The Mummy(1999) to The Mummy (2017).

'Next Mission: The Mummy (2017). 6 Days Until Mission Start. Mission Objective: TBD.'

After the new movie was selected, The Team went their separate ways to rewatch the movie and study it to the finest details. On the fifth day, Tie Ta gave everyone a packing list of things they needed to bring.

The Team then sat around to determine the best mission to undertake in the Dark Universe(Universal Horror).

"Look, if we go after the Mummy. Her defeat will most likely be our mission. We need to stay far away from her." said Di for the fifth time as he whiskey.

"If we make the heist our mission, there will be too many variables. Who knows what monsters work for Prodigium," said Yinkong.

All the while, Tie Ta was surfing the exchange list for specific enhancements. He figured the team could plan the mission, and if they couldn't, he already had one in mind.

-Jean Grey Genetic Mutation-

Omega level mutant potential. Jean Grey's mutation includes here evolutionary telepathic, telekinetic, and psychic siphoning abilities. Psionic conduit. 10000 points and an A-rank reward.

-Emma Frost Package-

Omega level mutant potential. Emma Frost's mutation includes her evolutionary telepathic and telekinetic abilities. This package also has a secondary mutation -Organic Diamond Form. This form transforms the body into a flexible diamond, making the user immune to psychic attacks. The transformation also grants superhuman strength, stamina, and durability. Psionic Conduit. 15000 points and an A-rank reward.

Tie Ta suddenly stood up and went to his lab. He grabbed a few things then returned to his team. In a loud bang, Tie Ta dropped a bin of stuff that the team had to learn to use for the next mission.

"You guys suck at planning. You can't agree on anything." Said Tie Ta, "Learn how to use these. Dark Universe is a wonderful and very powerful universe. Prodigium has created a treasure trove of the universe's greatest hits. We will take them all. But the mission will be the mummy. With the right moves, this will work for us."

"So, what's the mission then?" asked Wutong.

"The mission is simple. Defeat Ahmanet."

'Next Mission: The Mummy (2017). 5 Days Until Mission Start. Mission Objective: Defeat Princess Ahmanet' announced GOD.

On the Fourth day, Tie Ta gifted Lingyue 100 points. She then exchanged all 1200 of her points and a C-rank for Intermediate Qi. Tie Ta was also feeling a bit risky with his points. So, he spent another 50 points to return to Resident Evil for a day. Tie Ta looked over an infection map provided by Jarvis.

Following the map, Tie Ta went hunting for Lickers and Hunters in the heart of San Fransisco.

When he returned, it was like he had never left, and none of the other players were any wiser.

After returning to his room, Tie Ta used his telekinesis like a product line worker, assembling six DE-MHI Assualt rifles and six DEM-13 Pistols. At the same time, Reika constructed the ammunition while the rest of the team used their points on gathering Tie Ta's packing list.

Tie Ta then started minting gold coins until the evening came. Reika and Tie Ta were in the pajamas, lounging together on the couch. Reika's head rested in his lap as he used his fingers to comb through her hair. Reika would occasionally laugh at the anime Highschool DxD. Tie Ta had never seen it and also found the show highly amusing.

"Hey..." Tie Ta spoke in a soft voice.

Reika hummed in response.

"Whenever you're ready. I have another enhancement waiting for you."

"Mmm. How much is it?" she asked.

"One is 10000, and the other is 15000. I went back to Resident Evil to make sure I had enough."

"So, how many points do you have now?"

Tie Ta stopped combing her hair, and Reika turned her head to look up at Tie Ta. He then said, "Just shy of 19000."

"I'll take the 10000 point enhancement tomorrow," Reika spoke as she turned to watch TV again.

"You don't even know what it is."

"Doesn't matter. I trust you. Now enough business, just watch the show with me." Reika mumbled as she took his hand and held it against her chest. She then cuddled closer to him, and the house went silent again.

The morning of the third day, Tie Ta and Reika woke up on the couch, and the TV was still playing. After breakfast and dressing for the day, Tie Ta spent 10000 points and A-rank on the Jean Grey Mutation for Reika, leaving him with 8872 points and SBCCDD-rank rewards.

Besides the mind-splitting pain, the Jean Grey mutation attached to Reika's 24th chromosomes seamlessly.

While Reika practiced with her ghoul and psionic abilities, Tie Ta worked on Kido spells and combing Hoho with his Zanjutsu. Meanwhile, Team China was moving through military formations, lingo, hand gestures, and precision shooting. If it weren't for everyone having enhanced muscle memory, they wouldn't have looked like professionals after a single day of training the information they purchased from GOD.

After lunch, Team China gathered, and Tie Ta used them to practice his Hakuda -Shinigami Taijutsu. Tie Ta wanted each of them to embrace their power. To use it to their fullest potential.

Though, things took a left turn when Yinkong became someone else. With the help of her nether energy, she held her own against Tie Ta. He wanted to see just how far she could go as she became battle-crazed. Her limit surprised everyone, especially Reika and Tie Ta.

Yinkong had achieved the first Genetic constraint sometime before she arrived in GOD's Dimension. She had entered Stage 1 and began to manipulate the nether energy by creating dark violet-colored constructs during her battle with Tie Ta.

When Tie Ta saw enough, he opened up and knocked the little girl out.

"What the hell was that?" Tengyi asked.

"Genetic Constraint Unlocked Mode. That was only Stage 1," said Tie Ta. "Reika, take her to our room. Examine her mind. Whoever I was fighting wasn't Yinkong."

Tie Ta then sat the team down and explained the five stages of Genetic Constraints, just as GOD explained them to him. The Team was excited by such news, but Tie Ta obliterated their hopes when he told them of the requirement to face other Teams across the world.

"So, if one of us unlocks a genetic constraint next mission. Then every mission aftward is liable to pit us against another team," said Lingyue.

"Yes, but I'm working on a way to make things easier for us in that department. I have a few working theories I plan to start working on after our next mission. But let's call it a night." said Tie Ta.

-------------------------------

Reika was holding both sides of Yinkong's head in his room as large amounts of psionic energy emitted from her body. Tie Ta quietly went up to his bedroom and prepared for bed.

Tie Ta was reading the first book of the Inheritance Cycle. His fascination with dragon stories, elves, demons, dwarfs, and other high fantasy creatures was growing the more he explored the exchange catalog. Fantasy books helped his creativity when thinking of future paths for his teammates' enhancements.

As Tie Ta was closing his book. Reika walked into his bedroom and sat at the edge of his bed.

"You have a speed reading spell," she said, "Why waste time reading books?"

"The same reason you watch TV. I want to enjoy the tale and the feeling of turning pages. How did it go with Yinkong?"

"She's fine. The Jean Grey mutation has taken me to new levels. Yinkong is now of one mind. And she will stay that way from now on. Her childhood was rough and left a few scars."

"What did you do to her?" asked Tie Ta.

"Altered her mind. Thankfully she is only sixteen, and her conscious memory only starts when she was five years old. So I tweaked some memories, manipulated some emotional impression, crossed a few wires, snuffed out some trauma, and now she is good as new." Reika patted the bed then stood up.

"Where are you going?" Tie Ta asked. "You know you can stay. The bed is no different from the couch."

The two shared a look. Tie Ta then pulled the covers aside before turning over to sleep. When he felt Reika ease into bed, he smiled to himself.

---------------------------------

On the day of the mission, Tie Ta was using his TK to make unit patches for Team China and creating a background for his teammates and their fake unit going back to World War II. He attached the packet to a self-improving virus and stuffed it all into a USB drive.

'Enter the beam in thirty seconds. Target locked. Transportation to The Mummy(2017).'

Tie Ta took a stack of cards, patches, a crate of weapons, ammunition, the USB drive, and all of his gear into the ring of Na. Only his Asauchi was put in his Pendant of Shezmu. The pendant was then tucked into his shirt and hidden away. The Belt of Beloth the Wise was around his waist, constantly being fed all three of Tie Ta's energies for storage.

He and Reika then hurried to their beam, and Team China was pulled into darkness and transported to Northern Iraq under the covert command of a Chinese Private Military Company. GOD created a fine cover, but Tie Ta had his own cover story set up.

One by One, Team China woke up in a small camp in the middle of the desert. When the players were lucid, they looked at the sleeping newbies. Tie Ta dropped a create of weapons and ammunition.

"Get dressed in the black combat uniforms," said Tie Ta referring to the uniform he wrote on the packing list.

When Team China was dressed, Tie Ta sent a thought to Reika. Reika gave a subtle nodded and used her Telepathy to keep the newbies asleep. Tie then handed out red and black unit patches with a Scythe and a skull on them.

After the weapons and ammunition were dispersed, Tie Ta pulled out his equipment and set it up.

"What's the mission?" asked Tie Ta.

"I got this." said Wutong, " The Mummy(2017). Fifteen Man Mission. Objective: defeat Princess Ahmanet. Every Member of Team China will receive 2500 points and a B-rank reward.

Basic Mission Reward: 1000 points.

Newbie Introduction: 100 points.

Penalties. No killing Newbies, don't get negative points, don't tell spoilers, and don't... let the main characters die."

The entire team looked at Tie Ta. Even he stopped typing for a moment. "We can still do this. Lingyue, write a note for the newbies and sign it. Explain what's happening. Everyone else, find your IDs in the little box next to the weapons crate. Each of you has a military ID and Passport."

Tie Ta kept typing away as he connected with a Japanese Satelite and then hacked their military. After a few moments, his team was deeply embedded in the Japanese military and had classified files in the UN database and the American Military's database.

Tie Ta, then got a location for the closest military units with advanced Reconnaissance. "Found him. Sergeant Nick Morton." shouted Tie Ta, "He left yesterday on his mission. We know the tomb is in the Nineveh Province somewhere near Mosul."

"Can you patch into their communications?" asked Yinkong.

"Of course, I can. General military encryption is the easiest. Special Forces is when things get difficult. Let's get moving."

-------------------------------------

While Team China was hiking through the desert, the newbies were finally waking up. Many of them were freaked out and lost until they found Lingyue's message. After they finished reading, Lingyue received 100 points.

When the newbies read a letter left by Tie Ta, they realized that they were in the middle of Iraq and had to survive on their own until the mission was over. Those who didn't believe thought they were the victims of a sick joke. Either way, they would have to survive mission one on their own.

Which no one felt bad about, considering the newbies had nothing to do with the movie mission.
