7 Departure and ambush.

"You know? The feeling of waking up with the love of your life naked in your arms in the morning is entirely something else," I said as my eyes slowly fluttered open, my arms hugging Shizu as she hummed and nodded to that.

"Come on, we need to depart for the Republic of Ulgresia," I said to a drowsy Shizu, she was not a morning person and was hugging me tightly to ensure that I would not drag her to the bath, pressing her twin peaks on me to keep me on the bed. I was quite tempted to do just that, but I couldn't.

"Mnn. Five more minutes," she sleepily whispered as she once again tried to avoid getting up.

"No, but I will buy you a dress if you get up right now." Ha! check mate! Now what will you do? You forgot that I knew dresses were your obsession.

She jumped from the bed and to the floor, presenting her glorious body in all its glory to me, her breasts bouncing as she landed, and cast cleansing magic on herself as her adventuring outfit appeared on her with the use of "spatial storage."

"Let's go! Right now." Honestly, she's such an airhead sometimes, and sometimes she's the mature one.

No use complaining about it now; I got up and did the same. I cleared the bed too. After all that we did last night, I doubt that the maid would want to enter the chambers.

Walking out into the corridor, we saw the sights of people going to work at the gold mines, planting various crops, and little kids joyfully running around. This is such a treat for these eyes of mine.

We went to the throne room; the large door opened as the guards announced our presence, and we directly went in front of the queen, who was writing a letter. She handed the letter to one of her advisors as she addressed us.

"So, what would you need?" Even though she will be powerless if we just decide to go without informing her, she is still a queen and, as such, keeps up her authority over her subjects, and now we are technically one of her subjects.

"We came to inform you that we will not be in the kingdom for a week," I said, as she had a thoughtful look on her face as she faced us.

"Would you tell me the reason?" I figured that she would want to know the reason behind this.

"We are going to the Dwelling of Spirits to meet the spirit queen." I decided to tell the truth, not because I trust her that much but because I know she cannot do anything with this piece of information.

"Dwelling of the spirits? the mystical and legendary place in the books and scriptures said?" She freaked out a little bit before she nodded in understanding. Well, we are heroes after all. "So how about you guys having breakfast before departing?"

We readily nodded as we were all then guided to the queen's dining hall. The table was big, enough to seat at least ten people comfortably.

The queen graced the head of the table while we sat across, attended to by the queen's personal maids. The cutlery was placed with graceful perfection, putting even the most celebrated Michelin-starred restaurants in my world to shame.

The food was also masterful; it was a type of vegetable stew that we enjoyed to our taste, and once we finished the food, I asked the butler.

"Hey! Can you tell me the name of this food?" And I did get the name of this marvelous and legendary dish, "Ratatouille, sir." Certainly a worthy name.

We thanked the queen for the food and left shortly after. I had my "Infinity" passive, which will stop any physical attack, although I don't know about an attack from a True Demon Lord, True hero, or even a True dragon.

And I'm mostly certain that the spiritual attacks will undeniably smash past 'infinity' and spells like "Disintegration" and "Trinity Disintegration," which utilize spiritrons, will just ignore my barrier all together.

We walked for three days before we had to stop some slave traders who were going to sell a carrier full of elves. We took them towards Sorcerer Dynasty Sarion and went on our way towards the republic of Ulgresia.

We also used thought acceleration on the slave traders and beat them up with a stick. Well, Shizu did, and she had a devilish smirk on her face as she swung the stick towards their buttocks with no mercy.

We were almost there when we were suddenly transported towards a forest.

"Illusion!" Shizu took out her sword as she maintained her guard, and I too took my sword as we stood back to back.

"We should expect close combat." As soon as the words left my mouth, some veins and roots from nearby trees rushed towards us with some impressive speed, if I do say so.

"Whoever you are! come out this instant. If you don't, we will not hesitate to use force!" Shizu declared as her sword blazed with immensely hot flames; the flames turned completely white as the temperature began to heat up and the atmosphere began to sizzle.

An immense Haki was released with us as its center as we blasted the area with spiritual pressure.

Similarly, my sword ignited with the golden flames of the sun, "Flame Burst," and my body ignited with the shining glow of the sun, the flame on my sword and the heat of my soul blasting the atmosphere with unbearable heat, added with Shizue's own flames that were called the highest tier flame magic, Greater Fire Spirit Ifrit's flames.

The vines and the roots stopped just for a second before they blasted forward with immense speed and power, ready to skewer us.

We both jumped into the air, and I nodded to her. We are going to test our combined technique we made here, in this forest.

Even though it will most likely burn this forest down, we made sure there were no lives in the blast range with the "Haki" we released earlier.

Once we were in the air, we turned our bodies towards the vines and roots, which changed directions, and now they were directly coming towards us.

"Brahmastra!" "Inferno!" "Kundala!" "Flame!"

I threw my sword, now turned into a spear of destruction, as it ignited with holy flames, along with Shizue's sizzling white spiritual flames that backed up my technique, creating a dazzling rainbow-like blast in a wide range. I held her close as I covered us with "infinity".

The blast shook the forest, turning anything and everything that it touched into ashes without leaving even a single bit of dust behind.

The shockwave pushed us further into the air as I used flight magic to stabilize our footing and held Shizue in a princess hold.

Once the blast and shockwave of our attack were over, my sword flew out of the smoke and dust as it returned to my hands.

It was quite a technique that we created to use against demons like 'Him' if we ever met again.

"Quite more destructive than we thought; we would have to restrict using this with other people," I said as I touched the ground and let Shizue down on her feet.

"Yes, I didn't think this would cause such a scale of destruction," She said as we both looked at the sight of the forest after our attack hit it.

No, it couldn't be called a forest anymore; that was the scale of the damage. If I had to calculate how much this would damage my previous world, this would most likely destroy a large continent with no problems.

"Wow, that was quite the attack!" An amused female voice sounded out from behind us as we turned around in guard.

'I didn't sense her!' I communicated with Shizue through our soul corridor, and she confirmed it: 'Me too' This person is more dangerous than anything we've ever crossed paths with.

"Let me appreciate it with one of mine too!" She stepped into the light as we saw a beautiful girl with an androgynous appearance that painted her like a child.

She had long pointed ears, snow-like skin with slanted, jade eyes, and long pale blue-silver hair that fell gently over her cheeks.

An enormous amount of magic began to gather in her palms as she pointed her palm to the sky, and the weather suddenly turned for the worse.

'If we both die from this, know that I love you,' I said to Shizue, hugging her close as we witnessed the most beautiful yet terrifying sight in our lives.

'If we are alive after this, I will let you know.' She said this as she also hugged me tightly, as we both couldn't move anymore.
