19 Mad God Scripture

The sound of breaking bones was heard before a cry from a young boy followed. His figure flew before landing with a hard blow on the floor.

"Get up kid, this is only the beginning," taunted Mad God.

Sein's battered body slowly risen as he made a stance once again. It was crazy no matter how much he put into it he would only ended up with broken bones. (I can't even touch him).

"Let the rage consume you kid, let your adrenaline gushing wild inside you, remember the state of your grandfather!"

"Ruaah!"

Sein moved forward once more only to get blasted away again.

"But don't let the rage control you, you are in control of your own strength, rage, and vengeance must only be an amplifier, get up!"

King Viper was watching from the sidelines with interest. (To think that he would teach the kid his cultivation technique, has he found the perfect successor?).

He suddenly furrowed his eyebrows as he saw Sein stood up straight with his eyes closed. Not even the slightest movement was visible to his watchful eyes.

Mad God smiled, "That's right, remember the pain, remember what fate has brought you, remember how they kill your grandfather!"

"Hah!"

Sein rushed forward once again before Mad God shook his head, "You're too straight forward!"

Mad God let out a punch before his eyes opened wide. (He took a step back? Heh, this kid). In that split second, Sein tap his right foot to the ground before launching it toward his face.

*grab

"Not bad, but still not fast enough," said Mad God before he tackled Sein's left foot.

"Don't get up! Sit and cultivate."

The two of them were sitting against each other on the floor before they could feel the ki surrounding their bodies.

"Let me teach you about the cultivation technique I used."

Sein was surprised by his words, nobody just randomly taught their cultivation technique. That was like giving their entire wealth or some even considered it life.

"My cultivation technique is called Mad God, derived from the Mad God Scripture."

He suddenly pulled out a slab of stone with words engraved on it and threw it to Sein's face. "Viper, give us some room here."

King Viper smiled before he left the scene. It seemed that his whereabouts were known from the start of their training.

"The scripture that I found by happenstance gave me the strength I have right now, yet it's not completed."

"Not completed?"

"That's right, it is imperfect, you can faintly see that there are cut off letters on the right side, most probably the slab it's only half of itself."

"You know right, how dangerous it is to cultivate an incomplete technique."

Sein muttered, "Death."

"That's right, the simplest analogy would be like cooking, ki is the raw ingredient and our body is both the consumer and the stove. Absorb, cook, result. Depending on the cooking process the result varies. Some would give you strength some might make you weaker, the worst, death, the best, you leveled up."

"Then, how come you still alive?"

Mad God smiled, "The incomplete scripture comes with a deficit, if you manage to fully comprehend that half of the slab, then you can avoid death, but."

"But what?"

"It will eat away your sanity. You will become crazed, battle, blood, killing, war. However, it does come with perks, your heart will be trained to the extreme."

"Heart? What do you mean?"

"This."

Sein's body instantly turned rigid as he felt cold chilling bone aura enveloping him. His feet kept shaking as his body told him to run away but couldn't. His pupils shrunk as he saw the figure in front of him exuded an aura that could choke him to death. (He is just sitting but why does my body drench in a cold sweat, this is like what that silver-haired woman exuding).

"Once you trained this, not even in the presence of a god or a devil you would cower, heck, you wouldn't even bat an eye."

The power of the cultivation technique sounded amazing but there was something bothering him. The question he was hungry for an answer.

"Can you explain, why you choose me instead of someone else?"

"Because you are the perfect successor for it, your situation is the perfect fit for this technique."

"A successor? Why do you even need a successor?"

Judging from his appearance, Mad God didn't even look like he would need one. Not to mention that he was vigorous and had a wild personality.

"Because if I fail to continue, you can continue it for me, think of it as repayment for saving your life," smiled Mad God.

(That's definitely a lie) thought Sein before bringing up another topic.

"Can you tell me about this place?"

"We are a guild, but unlike the normal ones, we get our hands dirty. Assassination, killing a sovereign, stealing, robbing, only in rare cases that we actually do normal guild stuff like hunting demonic beast or fetching an item (Which obviously involves stealing)."

(Killing a sovereign?) to think that a group specialized in bad things existed. Killing a ruler would definitely change the course of history heck even the map might change because of it. Sein couldn't help but gulp at his own imagination.

"The world is vast, don't think of killing one or two sovereigns would make you a priority fugitive for the world to banish."

"Then, what about that dagger-earring you wore?"

"This is just an identification of what rank you are in the guild, the higher you are the more complicated tasks are available, of course, the reward would also be higher."

Mad God continued, "The rank is, bronze->silver->gold->platinum->black."

Sein opened his eyes wide as he realized what that woman's rank was. He didn't even get the earring yet and the woman was already at the peak of the chain.

"That woman that you met, she is one among the only five black rankers, Silver Lioness."

Sein's face was blushing and astonished at the same time. To think that there were only five people wearing the mantle of the black rank. Just how powerful were they? Not even the person in front of him wore the platinum rank.
