11 Demonic Beast

The boar in front of him was thrice the size of a full-grown adult. Its hooves were embedded in the soil as the tendons on his leg were full of visible crawling veins. The two pair of horns protruding out was like a crown of death that branched into two more sharp little horns. It was made for killing and ripping the flesh of its prey.

(Shit! What is this feeling coming out of that boar?! It's getting hard to breathe).

Sein could feel his heart beat faster every second in the open field. The wind suddenly felt more chilly than it normally would as he saw a drool coming out from the beast in front of him. Albeit his shaking hand, he still put out a smile as he retrieved a dagger from his waist.

The sun's last ray of the day finally dimmed down.

"Come here you pig!"

*squeal

With one forceful breath, the beast charged against him as it broke the wind. It let out a grin as the sharp fangs menacing into his sight.

(I knew it! Escape is not an option, it is too fast for a size like that!).

Gripping the dagger tightly, he gritted his teeth before running straight against the beast.

"Ruaaaah!"

The youth let out a thundering roar as it charged forward. He could feel each step he was making was getting heavier and heavier as the beast came closer. (C'mon! One more step before a jump!).

Suddenly the beast embedded its pair of front hooves in the ground and turned its gigantic body around.

His pupils were immediately shrunken as he gasped. He could see the jerked motion of its back hooves before the kick landed on his chest.

"Gah!"

Sein spouted out blood as he was sent flying from the blow to the far end tree. His ribs were immediately shattered as blood kept flowing from his mouth. His eyes turned pale as he leaned under the shades of the tree. "Sh-shit! I didn't even fully heal yet from Nia's blow."

(Everything suddenly feels so heavy, I c-can't move, damn it, is this it?) thought Sein as he saw the beast was taking its time to approach him.

(But how did a boar can move like that, as if it has intelligent, ah, that's it, it's a demonic beast, shit if only I've noticed it sooner).

"How dumb, with that size of yours, I should have known."

The demonic beast let out his hot breath as it grinned against its defenseless prey. Its front right hoove was scratching the ground as its mouth opened and closing in a rapid manner.

"So you would toy your prey huh?"

Sein chuckled before continuing, "Well do it!! My life is cursed anyway! Do your worse you stinky pig!"

The demonic beast let out a roar before it charged once more as if it could understand his taunting.

Time seemed to slow down in his eyes as life flashed him by. The earliest memory he could find was playing in his mind. For all his life all he ever close to was his adopted grandfather and the psychiatrist who tend his wounds and give him medicines every day. They wore a warm smile every time he talked to them. Then the latter memories came as a he stood against a beautiful woman that he was linked with only by an arranged marriage, that, of course, failed.

Suddenly his eyes opened wide as a fluttering brown hair passed his vision of sight. The familiar figure let out a fist that made a resounding sound as the body of the demonic beast was propelled to the air for falling down and broke the hard soil.

"Sein are you al- tch! I'm a minute late."

Seeing her student's condition she knew he was living on thin ice. It won't take long before he passed out from losing too much blood. Though he had a gruesome condition, she couldn't outrun the demonic beast that was getting up.

"Stay put and keep breathing Sein! Don't lose consciousness! Help will come!"

"T-Teacher."

"Don't talk and focus on your breathing, I will deal with the demonic beast!"

Sana readied her stance as she carefully watched the demonic beast's movement. (A demonic beast, I read it in the books but this is the first time I ever saw one since there are none in the kingdom, abnormal size, a hint of intelligence, so this is what happens when a beast tries cultivation).

Meanwhile, inside the village at the entrance of the forest. The group of adults was confused about what to do. They knew they should call for reinforcement but who would be strong enough to face a demonic beast. They didn't want to die a useless death by marching in. Not even with numbers, they could outperform one.

"W-what should we do?"

"L-let's ask the village chief! Forget Sein, if that young woman died, our village would be burned to the ground by the kingdom!"

"Look it's the village chief."

A familiar-looking old man that Sein met when he first went to school was walking toward the crowd and quickly asked what's happening. After listening to the explanation from his people, he rubbed his beard before saying, "Somebody, call Old Jing in his house, quickly, I'll make some preparation in my house."

"Yes, chief Hama!"

Hama nodded before quickly returning to his house.

The news of the missing Sein and the beautiful teacher spread like wildfire. The students were frantic that their strict teacher actually went in to save the useless of them all.

"Have you heard, Sein the trash is missing inside the forest!"

"That's not important! Teacher Sana is also there, what's more, a demonic beast was sighted!"

Nia who was overhearing from the streets had a worried look in her eyes as she glanced at the forest.

Amidst the crowding crowd, an old man was running toward the entrance of the forest before he saw a familiar figure standing in waiting for him.

"Hama! Why didn't you tell me sooner?!"

"Jing, I only heard about this about five minutes ago, I can't go in myself that's why I'm waiting for you, both of us together might be able to save them."

"Let's go then!"
