7 Leader of the Gang

A group of thugs came into the alleyway and saw their three guys laying in their own blood, on the verge of dying. Pieces of flesh were scattered around their bodies and they were barely breathing. The thug's roared in anger, and quickly questioned the homeless people nearby with threat.

Only after beating some up, did they carry the bodies out. They went down several streets before arriving at a three story building that looked somewhat debilitated from age. The place was located in a somewhat poor region filled with apartments, strip clubs, and small gambling houses.

The thug guards quickly let them pass through the iron gates seeing the situation. The area in the fencing was knee high with weeds except for the pathway, indicating a lack of maintenance. The building itself, which was made of old bricks, was also covered in vines as well.

The thugs knocked on the front wooden door before being let in.

Furniture was scattered everywhere on the floor along with random trash. The walls looked like they were painted at one point in their life, but most of it had flaked off, leaving behind plaster walls. There was no lighting except from a single window in each individual room, lighting up the dust that moved in the air from movements.

Dozens of thugs were scattered about within the first floor. A few were reading newspapers while the rest were having conversations with each other while smoking cheap cigars. All of them were bury and fearsome. Their tattoos on their body made it more apparent.

Almost all of them looked over at the thugs carrying their fellow comrades. Quickly getting up, some got a closer look before going into an outrage. Some however, just laughed at their misfortune. Most of them quickly demanded what happened.

"We need to see boss Lim," one said gloomily. The commotion quickly died down.

"I-is it that important that our boss needs to see it?" one asked hesitantly.

"Very much so. Now move!" he yelled. The thugs quickly moved out of the way despite their questions.

The bodies were brought to the third floor where the boss was located.

The boss was sitting in a cushioned chair that was moved from behind the work desk into the open. The cigar in his mouth had long filled the room with visible amounts of smoke. A lantern sat on the desk and another by the door, both lighting up the area while struggling to breathe.

His name is Chang Lim, one of the major gang forces in the city.

He is a middle-aged man that has a burly body that rippled with muscles. Tattoo's covered his body and each looked sinister, wriggling with his movements. There was a horrifying scar that ran down his neck. Wearing nothing but a loose jacket and pants, he was enjoying the company of two beautiful women who are prostitutes. They were accompanying him respectfully while he occasionally flirted with them. A fierce banging of the door interrupted their romantic atmosphere.

"Who the hell's banging at my door? What do you want?!" he yelled to the door, obviously irritated that he was being interrupted.

"B-boss, the three people we sent out are severely injured!" yelled the guy behind the door.

"What?!" he yelled, getting up from his chair. He ran over to the door and furiously opened it. Seeing his three men as white as paper on the verge of death, veins popped out of his forehead.

"What the hell happened?!" he roared, as if these people were considered expensive items to him. The thug went ahead and explained what happened in detail despite being in the shadow of the huge leader. The other thugs quickly backed away out of fear for his anger.

"What?! You're telling me you can't handle a little kid?!" he yelled, punching the wall next to him. The fist went through cleanly and the building seemed to shake a little.

"B-boss, I watched what happened. The kid seems to be a Qi practitioner as she sent the three guys to the ground without even touching them," said the trembling guy with his head lowered.

"Qi practitioner?" It was as if cold water was poured on his fiery emotions, instantly calming him down.

"Y-yes. She did nothing and they collapsed before they could fully attack. Then she stabbed a jagged knife into them without any care," he said respectfully. The leader mumbled for a bit, lost in thought, before bringing his gaze back onto the man.

"What's this kids appearance?" he asked.

"Boss, she looks to be a year old but has wraps herself with an old cloth without any other clothing. Her looks are also very average," he said.

"Old cloth? Homeless? Average? Impossible! A person can't cultivate without a cultivation manuel even if their talent defies the heavens! How can a kid that looks poor somehow injure my guy's this badly? She must be at rank six or seven body tempering to make my men bow without effort. She must be from an influential clan but using a disguise technique," he mumbled to himself. After some thought, he took a deep breath.

"Don't do anything reckless. I don't want to offend an influential clan for a stupid reason. But keep observing her for now; update me on her movements. I'll look up information on this little girl. Tell the boys to back off. If they don't, I'll castrate them. NOW GET OUT!" he roared.

The guy left swifty while quietly closing the door. The middle-aged man rubbed his chin in thought before returning to his deck. The two women seemed to treat him even more respectfully after seeing his bad temper. But they were both unable to bring up the courage to question him.

"GET OUT!" he screamed, causing the women to pale and flee.

The door slammed shut and the place went into silence.

Chang sighed before rubbing his temples as he laid back.

"What a weird day," he whispered to himself before standing up. He walked over to the gramophone in the corner of the room before tweaking it. Cracked, but old timey music began to play, which soothed one's mind. Chang grabbed the cushion chair and put it behind the desk. He tapped it's wooden surface while deep in thought. Finally, he reached over to the telegraph and sent out a Morse code.
