"Wha- what was that?" I asked waking up from last nights affairs. I stood up pushing my chair back from the desk and immediately noticed I was a little taller. Shocked I walked to the mirror and saw that I looked more handsome as well. My facial features became sharper, more refined. "Huh, well that's different." A little freaked out I gathered clothes and got dressed. I quickly came to the realization that I was gonna need new clothes as everything was just a little to small or a little too tight. "Seems I've also put on muscle. But overnight? Impossible." I quietly mutter to myself.

The message appeared before my eyes. "What is this?" Just as I was recovering from the shock of these strange words suddenly appearing, I heard a knock on my door. "Steven? You awake? We have to get going." Arthur called from the the other side. "Huh? Ohh right military training. I'll be right down." I quickly threw on a hoodie and and picked up my prepacked bag. "This will have to do until I figure out what this System is." I quickly walked out my door jogging to the front door. "Sorry about Steven, he just got his inheritance so he was probably up most of the night." "Don't worry ma'am. We understand the loss of family is always hard." As I came into view I saw two people in military uniforms, one a man and the other a woman. "Ahh Steven Gratos I presume?" "Yea that's me. Sorry for being so late as my lovely aunt said, I had a hard night last night." "Well then shall we get on our way?" "Sure Mr.-" "Ahh where are my manners Lieutenant Daniels and Private Hedge. We are here to escort you." "Pleasure Lieutenant, shall we get going?" "Right away."
{A few minutes later}
After thanking Mr. and Mrs. Alexander for everything, Arthur and I sat in the back of a military SUV, while the two soldiers sat in the front. Arthur looked out the window uninterested before turning to me. "We will probation be separated at the military academy will you be okay?" " Yea, besides it's not like you will be impossible to contact." Arthur chuckled at this before smiling at me. "You're right I'm just a call away." I smiled back before turning my head back towards the window. I thought about the weird system messages, and how similar it was to a video game. Using that line of thought I tried thinking about opening up a quests menu and a couple moments after the quests came up.

I inwardly groaned at the last part of the quest. I hate running, I was never out of shape but I proactively tried to do as little running as possible. After awhile having studied the system a bit I finally started to understand it a little. It worked almost exactly like a video game. I had a quest log and and a skill tree. however whenever I tried to open the skill tree it would show up as a kinda cloudy tree I could see points but couldn't read what they were. I also had an xp bar and a health bar. As the SUV slowed to a stop just outside the boundaries of the city I saw a teleportation circle surrounded by some military personnel. We drove through the checkpoint being stopped once for identification and right on top of the the teleportation circle. As we drove over the magic circle I felt the bottom of my stomach drop an then a blinding white light before I closed my eyes. When I opened them again I was at the Military Academy.
