Chapter II

Tenko and Lydia were suddenly interrupted when Mrs. Mason walked into the house with a few groceries bags.

Tenko was calm, but Lydia was a bit startled. Mrs.Mason looked her over, and unlike the smile, she had for the Late Aria. Tenko could tell his mother disapproved of Lydia.

"Hi, Mrs.Mason." Lydia greeted her as she tried to regain her composure.

Mrs. Mason put on a half-smile as she set the groceries on the kitchen table. "Miss Martin. I wasn't aware you and my son were so...close."

Lydia didn't have to be a kitsune to feel the judgment that Tenko could smell. But Lydia didn't back down. She surprisingly became defensive.

"We've become closer during this week, but today I think we hit a milestone." Lydia smiled and looked back at Tenko.

Lydia was trying to push his mother's buttons, but when she looked at him with those clear hazel eyes, her usual predatory nature didn't show. It was like the light in her eyes had gained a new hue.

After Lydia held his gaze for a moment, she became a bit startled by what she was feeling and looked away.

Tenko suddenly smelled rage and told Lydia to wait in his room if she wanted to stick around. She happily accepted and walked upstairs.

"Second door on the right!" Tenko shouted.

Pah! The granite counter cracked. Tenko looked over to see his mother's claws were out, and she was gripping the cracked counter.

"What is your problem?!" He snapped.

"I do not like her! And I don't want to smell her on you! Aria hasn't even been gone for a day, and you replace her with your 'study' partner?! And Let's not mention her current boyfriend. Who should feel insulted that she even likes you if she really does!" Mrs.Mason snapped.

Foxes are very familial creatures. And as a mother, who Tenko decided to mate with was a very important issue. With his biological father gone, Tenko had to add to his current family. He didn't have siblings to take over, and he couldn't leave his mother to make a family. She wasn't a solitary Kitsune. Having a family is her calling.

"You wouldn't mind if Aria had my kit. But you don't think Lydia will be good enough to handle or baggage."

"That girl was right for you, Tenko. And that bastard killed her..." Mrs.Mason began to cry, and Tenko pulled his mother into his chest.

"I'll find him, and I'll gut him. I swear. Inari Okami is my witness. Mom, I swear." he said.

Mrs. Mason sniffled and said, "Just be careful. I don't want my first grandchild to be by her. Okay. I'm sure your Ancestors fill the same."

Upstairs, Lydia listened to every word of their conversation. She didn't know what to feel. At that moment, Lydia took a good look at herself and critiqued herself like she did many people on a daily basis.

As Tenko was walking to the steps, Lydia was coming down. Tenko squinted, and Lydia wore an apologetic smile.

"I have to go," she said. "But I'll see you in school, and you have my number if you ever want to talk."

Tenko nodded and said. "Okay. I guess I'll see you around."

The weekend went to buy steadily as Tenko and his mother spared and decorated the house in their free time. Tenko and Lydia didn't speak much after she left. He texted her, and she called him, but he could sense there was a bit of tension.

Monday morning before school, It was just before dawn - the darkest part of the day. Tenko stood in front of a middle-class house, dressed in all black with two ninjatos on his back. In his hands were two Kunai. Tenko moved like a phantom and appeared at the side door of the house.

To his left was a power box. Stabbing his Kunai through the protective box, Tenko sent a surge of electricity and fried everything wired into the house. Tenko then broke in through the side door. Walking through the garage, Tenko entered the house.

It smelled of meth and a combination of drugs. He went room to room and slit the throats of the men that were sleeping. Unfortunately, when he stepped into the hall, he ran into one of the bikers and engaged in hand to hand combat. Using his Kunai, Tenko started by cutting the man's wrist, triceps, armpit. Stabbing the Kunai into the man's side. Tenko pushed down and sliced the man open from his armpit to his hip. Finally stepping into the man's shadow to slit his throat.

With a dead body in the hallway. Tenko picked the pace up and found the room that held the money. But three men were currently packing bags to transport the money elsewhere.

Woosh! Woosh! Tenko threw two Kunais that penetrated the bikers' skulls. He then finished it by decapitating a man with his ninjato. Flicking the blood from his sword, Tenko sheathed it and began to finish the job the three men had already started for him -Packing up the money. Retrieving his Kunai, Tenko took the bags and left.

About a mile into the woods, Tenko stripped and put everything he was wearing in a pre-planted duffle bag. Strapping everything together with rope, Tenko then morphed into a fox the size of a direwolf and ran away with his haul.

Tenko was running late to practice when he stepped into the locker room and heard the whispered voices of Scott McCall and his best friend, Stiles Stilinski.

"Scott. Hey, did you apologize to Allison?" He asked.

"Yeah..." Scott muttered distantly.

"So? Is she giving you a second chance?" Stiles asked as he failed to pick up on the internal conflict in his friend.

"Yeah..." Scott muttered again.

"Yeah, alright. So everything's good?" he asked. Stiles had finally realized that something was eating at Scott.

"No," Scott replied.

"No?" Stile asked

"Um, do you remember the hunters? "

"Yeah?"

"Her dad is one of them." The moment Scott said the words aloud, his body went numb, and his vision narrowed.

"Her dad?" Stiles was dumbstruck.

"Shoot me... With a crossbow." Scott muttered, and Tenko could hear his heart racing and smell his body sweat. Scott was about to have a panic attack.

"Allison's father?" Stiles repeated a little too loudly for Tenko's comfort.

Scott began to freak and shouted, "Yes! Her father!"

Tenko could hear Scott's breathing becoming heavy as he repeated, "Oh my god. Oh my god."

Tenko shook his head as he grabbed his helmet and left the locker room.

"Let's go! one on ones from the top!" Coach shouted. He was a man that liked violence and chaos. It's why he made a decent Lacrosse coach.

"Jackson!" he sang. "Take a long stick today!"

Jackson nodded and went to pick up the stick, then jogged to the field. Jackson took his position. Danny acted as the goalie, and Coach blew his war horn, and the games began.

Tenko was on the other side of the field doing face-off drills. Tenko took it easy. The only reason he was on the field was to appease his father. But when the coach shouted. "McCall's going to do it again! McCalls going to do it again!"

An animalistic scent crossed Tenko's nose. His head snapped towards the one on one drills. He could hear the low growling McCall emitted, and he tightened his jaw.

'This fucking kid is going to get everyone killed.' he thought to himself as he slowly walked across the field and watched as McCall took to big steps and drove a hard charge Jackson's way. Tenko watched as McCall put everything he had into knocking Jackson on his ass.

Pow! Jackson took the hit, and Tenko listened as his rotator cuff popped, dislocating his arm. The crowd gasped, and McCall stuttered away until Stiles grabbed him.

"Scott? You alright, man." Tenko listened in on the teen wolf and his best friend.

"I can't control it, Stiles,"

Scott's eyes glowed golden, and his fangs came out. "Oh no, damn it, not here." Stiles looked around for a moment and then helped his friend of the field.

Tenko looked to his left and saw Derek was watching the new beta. When the allies noticed each other, Tenko nodded, and Derek turned away to leave. Tenko quietly left as well. But not as unnoticed as he thought. He followed them back to the school and into the locker room.

"Get away from me!" Scott shouted as he pushed Stiles away, showing his fully shifted face.

Stiles recoiled and began to crawl away to save his life. Scott allowed his wolf to take over and began to hunt his friend. The smell of fear choked the locker as stiles struggled to getaway.

On top of the lockers, Scott stalked his best friend like deer to be feasted on. He growled and snarled as hunted with red vision. By this time, Tenko was also in the locker room hunting do the rabid Scott.

Unknown to all of them, a strawberry blonde had walked into the locker room with a stone-cold gaze, locking for Tenko. But she suddenly stopped in her tracks when she heard Stiles' loud pants and the even louder growls from Scott.

At the far back corner of the locker room, Stiles was back up against the wall, frantically looking around to find something to fight Scott with. Stiles eventually found a fire extinguisher he planned to use, but the moment Scott jumped from the Lockers, a heavy right hook clocked his jaw. He looked up with feral eyes.

Tenko tilted his head, and his eyes shined blood red as he produced a locker shaking roar. Scott whimpered and recoiled as he reverted to his human form.

"Oh my god..." Lydia gasped.

Tenko snapped his head around, and she watched as his red fox-like eyes reverted to normal.

"I think I better go," she said as she quickly turned around to flee.

Tenko used his speed to stop her from leaving. He knew she was scared, but he took her hands into his and placed them on his chest. She felt that his heart was beating as fast as hers.

She looked up into his eyes, and he stared back at her. "Don't leave me," he whispered.

Lydia pulled on his jersey in response. He puts his forehead to hers, and they closed their eyes and just focused on the sound of each other's breathing. Lydia replayed images of how terrified Scott and Stiles looked and Tenko's blazing red fox eyes. Tenko replayed the images of how terrified Lydia looked and the sight of her running away.

"I promise I will never hurt you. "

Lydia leaned back, reached up to caress his face. "I want to see them," she asked. She wanted to see what Scott feared. She wanted to see a monster so that she could run and bury everything she felt for him since the moment he walked into her Latin class.

Tenko swallowed, and his eyes changed. Unlike Scott, all she felt was comfort and tenderness when she looked at him, and she hated it. Her lips quivered, and the sheer might of her frustration caused her eyes to water before she turned away. Lydia tried to leave, but Tenko refused to let her go.

Looking back at Tenko, Lydia said, "I won't tell anybody. I promise. But I have to go. Tenko...Please"

His grip loosened, and the smell of Lydia's chemosignals caused him to snort. They were wild and confusing. The moment Lydia went past the doors, she leaned against the wall to catch her breath and jumped when a sudden bang came from the locker room.

Tenko stared at Scott and Stiles with a look of fury. "Get dressed. We need to talk."

"You - your," Scot stuttered.

"You have a thing going on with Lydia?" Stiles asked

"The one that bit me," Scott added.

"You two are fucking Idiots. And you, Stilinski. What you just saw never leaves this room or the next time, I'll let Scott eat you. Get dressed. I don't have all day." Tenko went to his locker and changed out of his Lacrosse gears.

"Hey, Big Fred!" Tenko called out into the kitchen of a small burger shop.

Big Fred is the owner of Big Fred T's Burger Joint. A place that Aria had shown him, and he had come to like.

"Holy shit! How have you been, man? I'm sorry about little Aria. She was a beautiful soul."

Tenko put on a half-smile, and Big Fred kicked himself. "Look--"

"It's alright" Tenko cut him off. " I need a double bacon burger with onion rings and fries. Scott, Stiles, tell the man what you want. It's on me."

Scott and Stiles looked at each other, then gave Big Fred their order. When Tenko walked up to the counter. Big Fred just gave him a ticket with a number. Tenko nodded, and Big Fred nodded his head in return.

Sometime later, Tenko, Scott, and Stiles sat around a table stuffing their faces until Scott spoke up.

"You didn't bite me, did you?"

"What gave it away?"

"Your eyes, they look more like fox eyes, and the werewolf that bit me had more human eyes, though they were red," Scott explained.

"Because Derek was the one that bit you. He saved my life," Stiles spoke with his mouthful.

"Look, I don't know who bit you. But you're playing with fire. You need to learn some control and fast. But if you accidentally kill somebody or get caught shifting."

"We know. You're going to kill him," Stiles interrupted.

"No, his girlfriend's dad is going to do that for me. " Tenko replied, and Scott went pale.

Stiles looked at his friend and back at Tenko. "You can teach him. You have control."

"I can't—sort of busy with my own shit at the moment. Look, Stiles, you seem like a smart guy. So keep him under control before someone gets hurt again. I gotta go" Tenko got up and took his onion rings with him.

As Tenko was driving away, he called Derek.

"Hello?" Derek answered.

"Hey, wolf boy. I think I know how to catch the Alpha." Tenko replied.

"How?"

"Scott McCall is his beta, isn't he? Your sister didn't give him the bite. That feral abomination did."

"How'd you find out?"

"The fucking thing is watching him."

"Tenko! Lydia is here!" his mother shouted.

It had been two days since Lydia stopped talking to him. She hadn't even been to school. Without their after school studying and partner assignment, it gave him time to hunt down the Alpha, investigate the deer incident that lured Laura Hale back to town, and research the Argent Family. When Tenko got to the front door, Lydia smiled at him.

"I guess we should talk?"

Tenko looked in the house and then back at Lydia. "Yes we do, but not here."
