5 Ch. 5 School

Stiles is leading the way on Myrddin's left. "What we're you thinking when you tried to confront Jackson? He's like, three of you"

"I think he's more than three. And I don't think he's naturally that strong either" Myrddin shares his point of view.

Scott's eyes widen. "You don't mean…"

Stiles also has his eyes wide. "I think he does mean…"

Myrddin begins to share his theory. It doesn't hurt to bounce some ideas off of some fresh minds. "Based on the brief interaction I had with the ape I can tell he consumes a lot of protein which means a few things. Some I confirmed by him and you two calling that amazing teacher by Coach. He's trying to bulk up and get in shape for some sport-"

"Lacrosse" Stiles cuts Myrddin off. "That's the sport that he- I mean WE play"

"So that was the lacrosse field" Myrddin now knows that this school is all about lacrosse and not football for sure, and that that means there isn't a second field. When he looks up he sees Stiles and Scott looking at him like they're missing something. "Oh, sorry. I came by here yesterday to make sure I knew where to go today. I'm sorta new in town so I'm trying to get the layout of this town. Anyway, I saw the field and deduced it was likely for lacrosse and possibly soccer due to the cleat marks in the dirt. And I ruled out football because there weren't any goal posts. That, and the grass is slightly dead and beaten down where the nets go, or where I assumed they went"

"So basically you just guessed?" Stiles asks.

"Sure" Myrddin goes with it.

Scott jumps in to get them back on track. "Wait, go back to Jackson. How, I mean, what else do you know?"

Myrddin remembers when he grabbed Jackson's arm. "I nearly fell outside the school and grabbed onto Jackson due to convenience. I managed to hold onto his arm and noticed it felt a little weird. My father, who isn't a sheriff, is rather muscular unlike me. So as I grew up I learned a few things about how muscles form and how to get them to artificially grow them. Both require a lot of work, but 'artificial' muscles are different from natural muscles. Not by much, but there are some differences. One being his pec-to-bicep-to-head ratio. His pecs are already slightly larger than they should be, and not in the muscles kind of way. But that should be gone in a while. There's also paranoia and hypersensitivity. I proved both of those when I taunted him and called him out"

"I… I'm speechless" Stiles throws his hands up. "How the HECK did you get all that?"

"Dude!" Scott gently pushes Stiles.

"What?" Stiles whispers.

"You can just say I guessed" Myrddin flatly says and only shrugs on shoulder. "But look out for some explosive growth coming up. He will also be more aggressive and high strung. Among some other side effects those will be the first to show themselves, one reason as to why I never touched that kind of stuff"

"What we're your other reasons?" Stiles blurts out which earns a slap on the back of the head from Scott.

"Do I need another reason? If I'm going to achieve something I'm going to do what I can on my own and not cut corners. I don't mind others using drugs, but its when they force others to do them is where I draw the line. And do I need a reason not to use them? Those things will kill your body, which you should treat carefully" Myrddin says with some great wisdom.

Scott takes his turn to blurt something out. "Shouldn't you have treated your body carefully?"

"It was for the pursuit of knowledge and proving myself right…" Myrddin looks to the side. "And I am a bit of a hypocrite. I'm good at giving advice but bad at taking my own. And this was the fastest way rather than having to take a backseat and just wait for the beating to randomly come. At least now I got it done and out of the way"

"Why were you expecting a fight?" Stiles wonders mostly to himself.

Scott doesn't even bother trying to reprimand Stiles for that one. Mainly because he was going to ask a second later.

Myrddin looks down the hall. "Because I've been to many, many schools. While this is my first highschool, in the middle schools I've been to there is always the top dog that has to squish the under dog. And beneath that under dog is me. So why risk the under dog rising to the challenge when you can fight and pick on someone like me?"

"Myr…" Scott places a hand on Myrddin's shoulder.

"Hey! You got it right!" Myrddin smiles at Scott.

And before the pair can say anything else they arrive at the office.

Myrddin holds his hand out to Scott. "I can handle it from here, thank you"

Stiles shrugs, pouts, and mumbles. "Guess I'm chopped liver over here"

"Are you sure? We still have plenty of time. And we need to take you to the nurses" Scott states and tries to convince Myrddin otherwise he also shakes his hand.

Myrddin looks at his hand. "Yeah, I'm sure. And thanks for carrying my bag. I'm feeling much better now"

Stiles realizes that Myrddin just had his hand out to get his bag back, so he doesn't feel like complete chopped liver… so is he just regular I chopped liver? This somehow makes him feel worse, like he wasn't even worth the effort of chopping.

"If you need anything, we can try and help you" Scott tries to leave a lifeline and hands the bag over.

"I'll keep that in mind, see you around Scott. You too Stiles. Was nice meeting you guys" Myrddin puts the bag on his unhurt shoulder and goes into the office.

Scott and Stiles stand in the hallway, not really sure about what to do next.

——————

Myrddin's red a few other students standing inside trying to make last minute changes to their schedules. Luckily for him, there is an easy way to do what he needs to do.

The easy way is mainly his only way anyway. There is a lady sitting behind a desk with nothing better to do than play Tetris on her computer.

Myrddin walks up to her. "Excuse me, I'm here to pick up my schedule and where are the fire escape routes map for this school?"

The lady behind the desk pauses her game and looks across her desk and sees Myrddin. "Name and grade?"

"First name M.Y.R.D.D.I.N. Last name W.Y.L.L.T and I'm a freshman,er, 9th grade" Myrddin says. His brain still feels a bit scrambled. He can see the lady go through some different files on her computer in the reflection of her glasses.

After a minute of typing on the computer the lady reaches into her desk and pulls out a vanilla folder and sets it on her desk as she opens it and explains it's contents. "Here you go. In here is your schedule, and any information your parents and you need to sign. Bring the paperwork back within the week please and thank you. The fire escape routes are posted in the halls"

"Could I just get a copy? My glasses got a little messed up and it will be hard to see. The reason I ask is because I'm gonna use it to find my classes via their room number" Myrddin kindly says. He knows this lady is already having a sucky day, and it's about to get worse when she flips her Tetris game in about 3-4 blocks with the way she was strategizing.

"Oh, sorry to hear about the dear. One second and I'll get it for you" The lady stands up and goes over to a cabinet. She comes back and adds two pieces of paper. One with the first floor and the other being the second floor. "Do you need me to explain the layout?"

Myrddin shakes his head. "No, I've already got 2 lacrosse players helping me for the day. Thank you though"

"Ah, well if that's the case. Good luck, and make sure to thank them. And ask them to show you to the nurses. I thing your cheek is bruising" The office lady says unsure.

Myrddin waves good bye and smiles as he leaves the office. And he's surprised to see Scott and Stiles waiting for him. "What are you two doing? Aren't classes going to start soon?"

Scott shrugs. "We decided that we have some spare time. The two of us share first period anyway"

"Yeah. And we wanted to make sure you actually went to the nurses office" Stiles takes Myrddin's bag and nearly drops it and he also almost falls over. But he quickly stands up straight and hugs the bag to his stomach. "Got it! I got it! All good"

Myrddin and Scott both look at Stiles.

"What?!" Stiles exclaims. "Cmon, we gotta move if we don't wanna be late. Move those lazy dogs and let's get over to the nurse! I heard she's kinda smokin"

——————

Myrddin walks out of the nurses office and walks over to Stiles. "I'm not sure what you're into, and I won't judge. But that is NOT smokin"

Stiles sharply inhales. "Yeah. I may have been told some false information. At least this time it's funny"

"There was another time?" Myrddin asks, unable to hold this question back. He also wonders who Stiles got this info from. Probably some upperclassman on the lacrosse team picking on the new recruits.

Scott answer before Stiles can make anything up. "Yeah! The first time was when Stiles took a shower-"

"Duuuude!" Stiles lunges forward and covers Scott's mouth. "I though this was a secret!"

"I never agreed to keep it such" Scott smirks.

"He took a shower here in school?" Myrddin asks. "What's wrong with that?"

Stiles decides to just bite the bullet. "That's not the problem! It's that my clothes were gone when I finished!"

Scott can't help but laugh into the back of his hand. "Alright, moving on. What's your first class Myr?"

"It looks like I'm starting my morning off with Calculus" Myrddin says while looking over his schedule.

"You're already taking Calculus? Lydia also is taking that" Stiles shares his knowledge while imagining something that Myrddin can only assume is a dirty fantasy or Lydia. And now he knows that Stiles has a crush, or too much free time. Likely both considering his obvious ADHD.

"She's taking Calculus 2 as well?" Myrddin asks. This is actually shocking.

"Eh?" Stiles comes out of his fantasy. "I'm sorry, did you say 2? Like, 2 as in the second? Like there is a calculus one and then there is a calculus 2?"

Myrddin looks at Scott. "I can take care of myself from here. Why don't you make sure Stiles doesn't blue screen before first period even starts"

Scott nods. "Yeah, I don't think he will make it to lunch"

They give their goodbyes and Myrddin walks away, unsure if he will even make it to lunch either.

——————

Turns out Calc 2 won't be a problem for Myrddin. But what will be a problem is his body constantly complaining about the abuse it took earlier in the day.

But he won't bitch and moan since he did it to himself. And this way he can manage to set up to protect himself better for the rest of his stay here in Beacon Hills. It would suck if they had to move within the week though. Mainly because he would have taken the beating for nothing. He even surprised himself with how well he took those punches. But that kick might have actually ended him. Depending on where Jackson was aiming it would have definitely broken something.

But school wise he is doing good. He's ahead of Calculus completely and he's studying statistics and other math subjects to stay and get further ahead. It's basically what he's going to be doing in all his classes except his electives. Can't really get ahead in art or P.E. now. An he?

——————

Scott leans over to Stiles. "Dude, did you get his phone number?"

Stiles looks over his shoulder at a random guy. "Who? Jake? No, if you want me to set you up I can-"

"No moron. I meant Myr. The kid who got pummeled by Jackson" Scott doesn't even want to indulge in Stiles' joke.

"Oh, right. M-something. Yeah, no. I thought you got it? You were the one offering a helping a hand at every chance you could" Stiles won't take responsibility for this blunder.

"Crap. I just wanted to look out for him a bit. We didn't see the fight but I know you saw the way he reacted to coach's touch. There was definitely something bad. And knowing Jackson he probably didn't hold back. I believe Myr when he said Jackson is taking a little something extra" Scott quietly talks with Stiles, his best friend.

Stiles responds while rubbing his jaw and shoulder. "Yeah, I can definitely feel that practice we had a few days ago. What about you Spock?"

Scott scoffs before sending his own verbal jab back to stile. "Doing just fine. At least I didn't nearly collapse when grabbing Amur's bag. Right Springles?"

"Springles doesn't even make sense! It's like Pringles but with an S at the front! What does that even mean?!" Stiles collapses onto his desk.

The rest of the day actually goes by smoothly. Even P.E. Is nice and easy. It was the first day so the worst part of the day was having to spell and pronounce his name 30 times.

He did find out he can eat his lunch outside the school, which is such a great blessing. Especially when he poked his head inside the cafeteria and saw Lydia and Jackson merging their cliques together. The jocks together with the bitchy mean girls. What a wombo-combo. He's happy to steer clear of that can of worms. Especially for today since his stomach was misplaced somewhere else in his body from Jackson's punch.

And he thanks God that Lydia Martin isn't in his class. But he also questions God when he found out everyone had at least 3 different viewpoints of his fight with Jackson. If you can even call it that. And the people in his classes are Sophomores and Juniors with a slow Senior sprinkled here and there.

After making it through the day he spends a few hours in the library studying. And even does a fair bit more research on coyotes on a school computer. He made sure to tell his mom he will be hanging out with his friends after school and won't be home until late tonight.

Ada texted back saying that his 10pm curfew is still active and not to push it like his 10 minutes from yesterday.

This surprised Myrddin since he thought he completely blew past the 10pm curfew. He also should have checked the time when he got home but he was so tired he didn't bother.

So he just gets ready to meet up with Caval later around 7:30 or so after the sun sets. He also has to make a stop at a place he spotted yesterday as well.
