Yawning Beau looked out his window while working on his homework, he hated the stuff, not for any other reason then it is boring. Him and his sister were Twin Geniuses so they usually got things done quicker then others, homework was just to boring because of it.

It was around midnight and he kept hearing a wolf howl, he didn't know how since they haven't been in California for sixty years, but they could migrate. Though he was yawning Beau actually couldn't sleep since he was a basic insomniac, pills didn't help much either so he was always awake.

Sighing he closed his advanced Latin book and slipped on his running shoes, throwing on a tank top he went outside while leaving a note. His mother and sister were already asleep so he didn't want them to worry if they suddenly woke up and he was gone.

A trail wasn't to far from their house and that is exactly where he was headed, letting out a sigh he took off into it the moment he saw it. With his headphones he was able to block out the noise but it didn't help to make him tired, instead he was more wide awake then ever.

Beau was so caught in his thoughts and having tunnel vision that he didn't see the red eyes tracking him, the music got his blood pumping harder as he pushed his body. It wasn't long before he was deep into the forest, he knew that he was getting closer to the river nearby but he didn't stop running even if this was his turning point.

Huffing Beau came to a stop in front of the river, the moon was reflecting off of it, it was almost a full moon and he was currently thinking about the party this Friday. His sisters idea of course, but he went along with it because he enjoyed it, well he was glad she enjoyed it actually for him it was just a social event.

Since the music was still pounding in his ears he didn't hear the howl or the sound of branches breaking, it wasn't long before a dark shadow overtook him. Beau saw the menacing red eyes in the water and froze, the fear that hit him made it where he couldn't move at all.

Before he could get back to himself he was thrown across the river but landed at the edge of the water, a hot searing pain went through his body at that moment. He could feel the blood soak his shirt as he yelled in pain, he didn't get a good look at what it was but something had just taken a bite out of his side at that moment.

He didn't want to pass out just incase something happened, he didn't know where it was at the moment so he picked himself up and looked around. Nothing was there though anymore when he looked around, seeing this as a chance just incase he picked himself up.

Treading through the water he made it to the other side, cautiously he looked around before grabbing his side and dragging his body towards his house. Beau didn't even notice that he no longer had his headphones in or that blue eyes were watching him.

When he finally made it home he went straight to his bathroom and took off his shirt, on his left side was now giant bite marks with pieces of his shirt in them. Blood was still coming out so he quickly went to cleaning the wound he was just thankful that he didn't get attacked again.

Using all of his gauze he finally wrapped everything up, his body started to get hot enough that his body started to start sweating furiously. His head also started to get dizzy, seeing as he didn't want to pass out in the bathroom he moved to his bed.

Falling right into it after a week of not sleep he was immediately out of it, his last thoughts that haunted him were the red eyes that he saw in the river. He shook in his sleep but he was so out of it that he didn't even notice.

The Next Morning....

Normal people wake up by alarms, but Beau was woken up by strawberry blonde hair and giggling, knowing exactly who it is he chuckled. Last night wasn't even in his mind as he turned over and leaned back into his pillows, her chin went on his chest as light blue eyes met green eyes.

The two smiled at each other before he spoke up, "You know we are sixteen but I never thought that you would keep waking me up this way."

She giggled slapping his chest, "Well is there any better way to wake up then to see a beautiful girl in you sight?"

"Lydia you are my sister you know that right?" he said with a raised brow shaking his head while pushing her away, he still needed to check the bite that was on his side.

"Yes I know but that still doesn't diminish my beauty." She said rolling her eyes while sitting up, she leaned against his headboard while watching him get up.

"I guess but that is just our amazing genes." he said while walking to the floor to ceiling mirror he had in his room, raising his shirt he moved the gauze to see how the wound was looking. He could see specks of blood but other then that it was doing fine, putting it back in place he turned to Lydia again.

"What the hell happened to you?" She said throwing herself off the bed and running to his side. she tried to move the shirt but he held it in place.

"Don't worry everything is fine. Look we need to get ready for school, if you are here that means it is getting close to that time to take off." Beau said kissing her forehead when he saw the frown her face.

"But--" she started but he was lightly pushing her out of the room.

"Come on Lydia we both know that you are the first person I got to if something is really wrong with me." He said right before he closed the door in her face. He wasn't trying to be mean but until he knew himself what was happening he wasn't going to let her worry about him.

Moving around the room he got ready for school while relaxing, but he stopped when he heard the stripping of clothes but also grumbling. Though it wasn't himself instead it was Lydia's voice he was hearing at the moment, but she was all the way in her room.

"Stupid Beau, I was just trying to help him out but no he sends me out the room. Sigh, it has been like this since we have hit thirteen, I just wish we could be close like we use to be." She said while the rustle of clothes were being moved around again.

Beau's eyes widened before he he couldn't hear anything anymore, now all he could hear was a low thumb it was like the beat of a drum but it was steady. Now that he noticed he could see a lot better he could see the little particles in the air, actually that might just be the dirt in the air.

He didn't know what was going on at the moment but he was going to stay calm even if he was freaking out, moving to get ready he started to get dressed for the day. After twenty minutes he was ready to go right when he heard Lydia knocking on his door and say, "Come on Beau it is your turn to drive today and I don't want to be late Jackson is meeting me at my locker."

He rolled his eyes at Jackson's name, the guy was a tool but she still lowered herself to his level so she could hold her title of queen bee. While he was just normal and went through life, though he did see the looks that the girls threw him in school.

"Yeah yeah I am coming. We both know how you love to make an entrance." He said going out the room and throwing an arm over her shoulder as they made their way downstairs. Their mom was already gone so they didn't need to say anything to her and they both grabbed some granola before heading to his car.

Getting into his red Camaro they drove at a steady pace to the school, Lydia blasted the music though as they drove down a long rode that took the right to it. Pulling up she kissed his cheek before getting out, he waved her off and got out himself, the sounds around him were driving him crazy.

"So, let's see this." He heard a voice say some reason he was focused in on it.

"It was too dark to see very much, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf." Came the response of someone else.

"A wolf bit you? No, not a chance." Back to the original voice.

"I heard a wolf howling."

"No you didn't!"

"What do you mean I didn't, how do you know what I heard?"

"Because California doesn't have wolves for like sixty years."

"Really?"

"Yes, really. Look, there's no wolf in California." These two went back and forth getting further and further away.

He stopped listening after that because his eyes went wide, he had also heard a wolf howl last night and didn't think to much about it last night. Now hearing the conversation he knew what was happening to him, the enhanced sense were a big help in all of it.

Without a thought he rushed to the bathroom, when he got inside he moved his shirt to check his wound again. Looking at it the wound was now healed, his breathing started to increase and he started to have an increase in heart rate.

He could feel though that fangs were coming from his mouth, looking up he could see that his eyes were now glowing it was a bright green color. He could feel that his body was starting to change more as claws started to form on his hands, what shocked him though was that they were changing to paws.

Since he was in the middle of school at the moment he couldn't let this happen, he tried to focus and calm down he didn't need this to happen right now. His hearing started to get a lot better, soon he could hear everyone in the hall talking over each other.

Trying to calm down he tried to focus more, suddenly his hearing stopped on a voice it was Lydia, although she was talking to Jackson the sound of her voice was calming him down. "Beau?!" A voice from behind him called out.

Turning around Beau saw Issac Lahey standing there, this was his best friend since childhood they also knew secrets about each other that no one else knew about. "Issac I think I am going to need some help." Beau said looking at his friend with a little worry on his face.
