17 Rest

Upon returning to the municipal hall, I was met with the buzzling government staff who's rushing in and out of the way, signifying the issue of the town of Rose.

However, after seeing me, they all immediately bow before my presence. And afterwards, they returned to their works.

I, too, returned to where I should be before. In Greg's study. And right after I arrive, I was suddenly met with the serious and worried of Greg who's still dominated by the paperwork on his desk.

"Milord, I'm glad for your return. Please, have a seat. Viena, give as some drinks."

"Certainly."

Viena, what should I say, is somewhat a mysterious woman. Despite her being young, or not? She act like a mature and professional business lady that sometimed I can't seem to understand her intention because of her expression.

That's pretty lovely.

Noticing my gaze to his subordinate, Greg gave me a suspicious smile and when Viena left, he directly ask for the question.

"You like her, Milord? If you do, I can always send her to you. I'm sure Viena will be willing to serve the lord who saved her kin."

"Haha... That's a nice joke, Greg. But I still have business involving the territory to do. Having a leisure would be a bad move especially with the impending attack of my family, and I'm sure they'll do it." Well, I can't really say they're my family since I basically don't know them.

"I'm really not joking, Milord. Look at you, you just arrived the other day, and yet your complexion is already worst. I believe a rest is what you need."

"I just slept for an entire day, yesterday."

"And yet you are already looking tired."

I can't refute to that. Since the moment I got here, I have been feeling tired after working with the renovation of my town. Similar to the situation while I was terraforming the farmland and reconstructing the pasture, I suddenly felt a sense of dizziness with no clear reason.

"I have a proposal, Milord. Since you have returned, we are yet to celebrate it. So why don't we have banquet?"

"A banquet? You mean a feast?"

"Well... Yes, I suppose?"

But wouldn't it be a waste of resources? I mean a banquet of my level as their lord would certainly plummet the foods I just provided for them. However, since the food sources are yet to be harvested, I can always add a hundred thousands of foods. Having a banquet may seem a pretty good idea.

"I don't really like that kind of treatment, but if the people were to enjoy it then I might as well do it."

"You are too kind, milord. Now, for the matters in hand." changing his playful expression to that of a serious one, I suddenly stiffen in response. His serious face is something that I cannot get used of.

It always scream danger.

"The knights that came are looking for you, milord. But due to an unexpected occurrences we decided to have them leave for the day. Currently they are staying at an inn near the harbor."

"I see. Do they have any reason why they came here?"

"I am not sure, but it seems they want to talk about the Pearson issue and certainly they do not have the great mood in their looks. The captain even caused a ruckus before leaving. Fortunately, one of them apprehended them before things got bloody."

"I see, that's quite the escalation. Then, what else?"

"Well, this is only to my knowledge, but it seems one of the knights is a disowned daughter of a high noble. Her politeness and posture make her looks like she was well-trained before becoming a knight."

"Is she beautiful?"

"That, I have no knowledge of since they are wearing a helmet. Although I can see that she has a nice curve under her armor."

"Really? How so?"

"Well-"

"Ehem... Mayor and His lordship, I have returned with the teas and coffee." Suddenly stopping us from the serious conversation we are having, Viena stealthily entered the room and gave us a nasty look.

There, she offered as the drinks from the wooden tray which is still a bit hot. Since I have provided them food once more after I depleted their resources, the supply for coffee is not a problem anymore.

And so, I was able to once again have a taste of this bitter yet sweet when a sugar was added black coffee that I used to have every morning back in my former life. And truly, I can't get used to this refreshing feeling while savoring it.

On the other hand, there is a weird atmosphere growing between Greg and Viena as she pour the tea out from the pot. But I didn't really mind it since I am enjoying my coffee.

"Since the visitors are resting, I might as well do a few construction in this town, like adding a shipyard so we can expand the trades we will have for the future. After the Lotus Town become stabilize, I will declare an open trade so we gonna need a handful of ships that we own.

After that, I'll rest. And your suggestion about the banquet, we should do that tomorrow, is that possible?"

"Yes, of course. I believe the people will gladly do the job for you."

"Yes, well then. I'll take my leave."

Right after the banquet tomorrow, I should probably return to Edelweiss. I did renovate the foods sources, but I have yet to reconstruct the rundown buildings that are necessary for the development of that town. It would be bad if it were to be left behind.
